On World Sexual Health Day 2025, an expert shares top tips on maintaining sexual health during monsoons to avoid infections.

World Sexual Health Day is characterized as an attempt to promote awareness of safe sexual practices. Did you know that changing the weather, especially the monsoon era, can affect our sexual health? While the rainy season brings a refreshing change, they can also create conditions that increase the risk of familiar health infections. Poor hygiene, increased humidity and wet clothes can increase the dangers of vaginal infections, discomfort and reduced libido. Fortunately, with careful care, couples can continue to enjoy the romance of the rains, while protecting their sexual health during the Muson.

How to take care of sexual health during monsoons?

Here are seven important tips for maintaining your sexual health during this time of monsoon:

1. Make personal healthy priority

Good hygiene is the cornerstone of sexual health and becomes even more critical during the monsoon era. Wet and wet conditions can encourage the growth of bacteria and fungi, especially in familiar areas, according to International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.

Here are some hygiene tips:

  • Often wash: Participate in frequent washing of your familiar areas with warm water and a gentle, balanced pH cleanser, especially after sexual activity.
  • Avoid hard products: “Avoid hard soaps or douching as they may disturb your natural vaginal germicide” Dr. Chirag BhandariThe Andrology expert says in health plans.
  • Men’s hygiene matters: For men, it is equally important to keep the groin area clean to prevent infections.

2. Choose light, breathable clothes that dry quickly

The risk of fungal infections is increased with prolonged humidity. To protect yourself, consider the following:

  • Select cotton: Choose loose, cotton underwear that promotes air flow and minimizes the accumulation of moisture.
  • Change quickly: “Avoid staying in wet clothes after training or rain to reduce the risk of skin irritation and infections,” the Androtologist indicates.
  • Say no to tight fabrics: Tight or synthetic clothes can trap moisture by contributing to situations such as candidiasis (dough infections).

3. Participate in safe sexual practices

The rainy season can create a warm atmosphere, but it is important to remain careful about safety during familiar moments:

  • Use condoms: Always use condoms to reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections (STI) according to Disease Control and Prevention Centers.
  • Listen to your body: If discomfort, unusual discharge or itching arises, stop sexual activity and consult a doctor.
  • Ensure comfort: “Both partners should feel safe and comfortable with any sexual activities involved, especially in high -risk seasons,” advises Dr. Bhandari.

4. Stay hydrated

Hydration plays a decisive role in promoting sexual health and comfort. Here is:

  • Drink plenty of water: “Adequate hydration helps maintain pH levels and to estimate toxins from the body,” says Dr. Bhandari.
  • Fighting dehydration: Dehydration can lead to dryness and irritation during intimacy, making it necessary to remain hydrated, as noted in the EPMA newspaper.
  • Include moisturizing foods: Integrate fruit -rich fruit, such as watermelon and cucumber, into your diet, along with herbal teas for additional benefits.

5. Consume a balanced diet

Your dietary choices significantly affect your sexual and general health. To improve your diet:

  • Focus on nutrient -rich foods: “Emphasize foods that support hormonal balance and immune function,” urges the expert.
  • Integrate probiotics: Foods such as yogurt can promote healthy sinusL Flora, while bananas and black chocolate can enhance libido.
  • Avoid processed foods: Stay away from extremely processed or sugary foods that can promote harmful bacteria and fungi.

6. Improve your mood

The gray sky of the monsoon era can affect mood, energy and libido levels. To combat these results:

  • Spend quality time: Participate in activities that promote the emotional relationship with your partner by enhancing your relationship.
  • Look for sunlight: When possible, exposure to natural sunlight can help enhance vitamin D levels by improving your mood and general well -being.

7. Pay attention to warning signs and consult a doctor

If you notice any unusual symptoms, it is important not to self -healing or delaying the help search:

  • Watch for symptoms: “Persistent itching, discomfort, unusual rejection or pain during urination or sexual activity should not be ignored,” the doctor says.
  • Search for immediate medical care: Timely consultation can lead to a faster recovery and prevent complications from conditions such as urinary tract infections (UTIS), bacterial vaginitis or dough infections.
