The Step-by-Step Reality of a No-Needle, No-Scalpel Vasectomy in the Labyrinth

The Step By Step Reality Of A No Needle, No Scalpel Vasectomy In The

For many men, the decision to have a vasectomy is not the hardest part.

He imagines the process.

Questions like…

  • Will it hurt?
  • How long does it take?
  • What is recovery really like?
  • What exactly happens during a no-needle, no-scalpel vasectomy?

…it’s completely normal.

At Maze Men’s Health, we understand that uncertainty often creates the most stress. That’s why we believe that knowing exactly what to expect can make the experience much less intimidating.

Here’s a step-by-step look at what happens during one Vasectomy without a needle, without a scalpel in Maze.

Step 1: Your consultation

Every vasectomy starts with a consultation.

During your visit, you will meet with one of our experienced providers to discuss:

  • If a vasectomy is the right choice for you
  • Your medical history
  • Any medications you are taking
  • The process itself
  • Recovery expectations
  • When you will be officially considered sterile

This is also your chance to ask any questions you may have.

Many patients tell us that they leave the visit feeling much more relaxed than when they arrived.

Step 2: Arrive for your procedure

The day of your vasectomy is surprisingly simple.

After check-in, you’ll go over some final details with your care team before the procedure begins.

If you’re feeling nervous, and many men are, we also offer options to help you feel more comfortable, including nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) and, when indicated, an oral antidepressant medication. Nitrous oxide works quickly and wears off within minutes, allowing many patients to drive themselves home if they have not received oral sedation.

Step 3: No needles

One of the biggest differences between Maze’s approach and traditional vasectomy is right in the name:

No needles.

Instead of using a needle to inject local anesthetic, we use a specialized high-pressure device that delivers the anesthetic through the skin.

Most patients describe it as a quick thump or light pressure that lasts only a moment.

Within seconds, the area goes numb.

For many men, this is one of the biggest surprises of the whole experience.

Step 4: No scalpel

Traditional vasectomies require one or two small incisions made with a scalpel.

At Maze, we don’t use one.

Instead, a specialized instrument creates a tiny opening in the skin that is large enough to access the vas deferens, the tube that carries sperm from the testicles. Because the opening is so small, usually no stitches are neededand many patients cannot even find the location once they heal.

Step 5: The vasectomy itself

Once the vas deferens is gently passed through the small opening, it is carefully divided.

In the Maze, one end is sealed while the testicular end is left open to allow microscopic sperm drainage and natural reabsorption. This open type technique is designed to reduce pressure within the epididymis and may help reduce long-term discomfort for some patients.

The same process is then performed on the other side, usually through the the same tiny opening.

The whole process usually takes approx 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 6: Return home

After the procedure, you’ll spend some time recovering in the office before heading home.

Most patients are encouraged to:

  • Rest for the rest of the day
  • Wear supportive underwear
  • Apply ice packs as directed
  • Avoid vigorous exercise and heavy lifting for several days
  • Follow their provider’s personalized recovery instructions

Many men are surprised by how quickly they return to normal daily activities.

Step 7: Recovery

Recovery is usually easier than many patients expect.

Although it is normal to experience mild pain, bruising, or swelling for a few days, these symptoms usually improve with rest and supportive care.

One important thing to remember:

A vasectomy does not work immediately.

Sperm remains in the reproductive tract after the procedure, so you should continue to use another form of contraception until follow-up sperm analysis confirms that no sperm are present. Maze Labs offers convenient sperm tracking to verify process success.

Because Maze’s approach is different

At Maze Men’s Health, the process isn’t just about preventing pregnancy—it’s about creating the most comfortable experience.

Our approach includes:

✔ No needles

✔ No scalpel

✔ A small opening

✔ No stitches

✔ Optional nitrous oxide for relaxation

✔ Experienced providers who perform this technique regularly

For many patients, these differences greatly reduce the anxiety often associated with a vasectomy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the process take?

Most needle and scalpel free angiectomies at Maze are completed in approx 15 to 20 minutes.

Will I need stitches?

Typically, no. Because the opening is so small, stitches are generally unnecessary.

When can I go back to work?

Many men return to office work within a day or two, while more physically demanding jobs may require additional recovery time. The provider will give you recommendations based on your specific situation.

Experience the Labyrinth difference

Opting for a vasectomy is a personal decision, but the procedure itself doesn’t have to be stressful.

At Maze Men’s Health, we Vasectomy without a needle, without a scalpel designed to make the experience as comfortable, efficient and minimally invasive as possible. From your initial consultation to your follow-up sperm analysis, our team is here to answer your questions and guide you every step of the way.

If your family is complete and you’re considering permanent birth control, schedule a consultation with Maze Men’s Health to find out if a needle-free, scalpel-free vasectomy is right for you.
