What Fun! My Latest Favorite Skin And Hair Care Products!!

These are some of the most exciting skin care products that have come my way in the last few months (out of the hundreds I’ve reviewed!)

I thought I’d put together an info heavy list for those interested in looking at the ingredients and getting my brief thoughts 😍

I hope you have a lovely Sunday and week ahead! 🙂

SKIN CARE FAVORITES

Micellar water Bioderma SensioBio

This product is a cult favorite of makeup artists around the world. I first discovered it many, many years ago. One of the things I love about micellar water is its versatility. I use it as a pre-cleanse, to remove the conductive gel after using ZIIP and before I put on my makeup and when I get back from the gym to refresh my skin. You could even use it as a single step after a night out, as it doubles as a makeup remover and toner. Some people prefer to rinse off the micellar water, but one of the reasons I love Bioderma is that it’s not necessary to rinse it off (unless that’s your preference!).

Bioderma Micellar is the original micellar and has been around since 1991!!

Prequel Gleaner

Prequel Gleanser is my current absolute favorite cleanser. This is such an interesting cleanser because of its high glycerin content (50%). So many cleansers that don’t leave me feeling dry don’t actually leave me feeling clean!! Not Prequel – I love the fact that it leaves my skin feeling perfectly clean without feeling stripped in any way.

On top of all that, it’s such an amazing value – to the point where I’ll sometimes use it as a hand cleaner too!!

Ah, a rub. Gone are the days when we willingly apply scrubs with apricot kernel fragments to our sensitive facial skin! The best modern natural exfoliants are much more sophisticated. Drmtlgy’s contains extremely tiny pumice particles that feel like a very fine “grit”. And it has other such great ingredients to boost the ‘scrub’ and leave your skin feeling plump and beautiful. I use the Drmtlgy Microdermabrasion Scrub about once a week – especially good before you tan (and great before a big event when you want the smoothest canvas for your makeup). Another great use for this super fine scrub is as a lip scrub! Combine it with your favorite lip conditioner for super soft lips 💋

Dermelect Sleep Serum

I can’t tell you how many products I tried to see if I could find a doll for the Dermelect Sleep Serum. But I’m here to tell you, it’s one of a kind!!

Sleeping Serum is such an elegant and unique combination of acids – and it’s powerful, so I recommend starting with once or twice a week (and not combining it with other retinoids or actives). Try it down the neck/December and also combine it with Drmtlgy Soothe and Recovery as a ‘two and done’ nightly routine.

Use code PENN25 now through February 25th to save 25% off.

After 25th code PENN Save 20% Sitewide!

Dermelec Self Esteem Neck Tightening

This is an interesting neck treatment as I find it helps with one of the most difficult neck ‘issues’ – that crepe texture starting to appear, especially over the thyroid. The AHAs it contains also help with pigmentation problems that can appear on the neck.

Dermelect has offered my community a special discount!!! Use code PENN25 now through February 25th to save 25% off.

After 25th code PENN Save 20% Sitewide!

Press the keys

This is a silly but useful “favorite”, but it really deserves your attention. We spend so much on skincare and so many of us have had that experience of wondering how much product we’re wasting inside a tube… or even opening the bottom to get every last drop out. Well, there is an easier way! The squeeze keys give you that bite + leverage you need to roll those tubes off the base and squeeze out every last drop!!

I covered this in a DUPES video about a month ago. I really love it so much – even more than ColorScience which I have loved for years. The feedback from my community since I posted the video has been extremely enthusiastic – people love it!! I’m using the medium and black shades – but you can see more about the formula, shade swatches, etc. in the video DUPES!

Drmtlgy Universal Tinted Moisturizer SPF 46

I’ve been talking about this for years. As many sunscreens as I try (I try dozens and dozens every year), Drmtlgy Universal Tinted SPF 46 remains my favorite. So when I make a favorite video I can’t help but mention it!!

Verabella Cucumber Aloe Moisture Screen SPF 45

Smells like a summer salad!! My friend Tessa recommended this SPF and it quickly became my go-to. Like Drmtlgy above, it serves as my moisturizer, SPF, and makeup primer.

Obagi Nu-Cil

Another great product I learned from Tessa who saw such amazing results on her brows. I’ve only been using it for a month so I can’t show you my results yet (although I can already tell that my brows are slightly fuller and the hairs are longer ((in a good way lol)).

Reviv Lash & Brow Serum Stimulating Serum

For some reason last fall I just got into the habit of taking care of my eyelashes. Unfortunately, after several months I really regretted it. My lashes are starting to look weak!! So in January I started back on the RevivLash Serum. I’m already starting to see results and will be monitoring my progress on the Reveal camera (it’s like the little sister of the VISIA camera and allows me to accurately track my eyelash growth). Tip: you can use Reviv on your lashes AND your brows.

Sauna

The sauna is my latest obsession. It helped my mood and my skin in really measurable ways. And the studies showing how sauna use can support heart and brain health are extremely compelling. I encourage you to watch my sauna video where I discuss not only the benefits but also practical issues such as how to choose a sauna and my personal protocol. I love the HigherDose sauna blanket (I did a video with HigherDose if you want to learn more about the blanket or the company.) HigherDose has generously extended this offer exclusively to my community:

HAIR CARE FAVORITES

Epres

I love this pre-shampoo. Which is crazy as it sat on my shelf for ages untouched! The spray application is genius and really lets me cut my hair and get good coverage. I tend to leave it in my hair (sometimes after putting a mask on top) while I’m doing housework or working on my laptop (I leave it on for up to an hour if it fits my schedule, but 10 minutes is ok.) I love the fact that you can just pop into a new ampoule, avoiding wasted packaging.

Coco and Eve Bond Building Pre-shampoo Treatment

For a pre-shampoo I also like the Coco and Eve Bond Building Pre-Shampoo. To me this is more like a cream-enhancer. It makes my hair so silky and soft.

Chewbacca mask

I have loved it for years!!

Macadamia Naturals

Another mask that is such good value and always gives soft and shiny hair.

Living proof Restore Repair Mask

I got this recommendation from my friend Tessa (yes, I get A LOT of amazing products from her!). The big win for Living proof beyond the soft/silky results is that it only takes five minutes – perfect for the shower (and especially good for thick or colored hair.

Davines LOVE Smoothing Instant Mask

It has a lovely grapefruit smell (but so soft

and subtle) and delivers beautiful results – hydration without heavy weight. This is another ‘quick in the shower’ mask. In fact, sometimes I use it in a hurry and only leave it on for a minute and still get amazing results. I love it!

He was earning retirement

I’ve resisted this baby in the past because it’s a bit pricey… but honestly, it lasts so long and gives such great results that I think it’s worth the investment. It offers shine, manageability, shatterproof – all the stuff!!

Hood dryer

This is great with whatever deep conditioner you love!! It will enhance the setting!

This is so funny. I can’t help but feel like I’m channeling Marge Simpson when I use it.
