Maternity is often described as beautiful, but for many parents it is also raw, exhaustive and deeply transformed. For Samantha Kerrod, its founder MomThe challenges of the inspirational overnight stays, the identity shifts, and the overwhelming noise of conflicting tips have caused determination to find another way. What began as a personal search for soft support based on presumptions during her side to motherhood has evolved into a business where she supports families with holistic sleeping and Doula care that prioritizes connection and compassion. Whether you are preparing for birth, survive in a very young sleep or discovering again who you are as you return to work, Samantha has built the kind of support she wants. Here he talks to the natural parent magazine for the inspiration back MomThe challenges she has overcome and her hopes and dreams for the future.

Passion: What inspired you to adjust your business?

Mom He was born to the raw, real and often invisible moments of my trip to motherhood. There was no business plan, something inside me that said, “There must be another way” besides shouting or screaming crying, control lists and policies and just going with mainstream media. Being a parent shook my world. Not only physically, but emotionally and mentally. Exhaustion, sleep deprivation, identity shift … and the overwhelming noise of advice that did not feel right. I always had the kind of personality that the questions and want to find answers, so when I had my first baby at the height of Covid, I found it really hard. So, I started training in sleep and reading all Lyndsey Hookway’s books. When I had my second child, I could feel something that burns inside me even more and went to train to become a certified Doula. I returned to work after this maternity leave to feel an attraction.

I didn’t just want front. I wanted to understand what was happening, both for me and for my baby. I wanted real items. I wanted to feel supported and understand the changes. This wish became a call. I was trained as a Doula and a holistic sleep coach to support other parents through fog, with tools based on evidence and soft, coordinated care. I created the support I wish I had.

The launch: How did you start at first?

Started small. With a direct -linked mumm community looking for alternatives and who felt lonely during Covid. I started supporting my family and friends, I share what I learned-and pushing customer calls to sleeping times when nutrition in my arms and working full-time marketing. Then I decided to take the jump and go all in. I knew this was where I wanted to be, and I felt like a natural transition to me. It was of course discouraging, but the fire inside me could not be domesticated. I turned the questions and with everyone I came back, I felt this longing to want to support them more than my 9-5 return. So I started with 1: 1 sleeping support services, but my focus has always been on the emotional side of parental responsibility, not only on control directories and routines. I am now almost finished with OCN level 6 Holistic Sleep Workout with Lyndsey Hookway.

As a word spread, families began to come to me for a different kind of support: one that respected their intuition, their baby’s needs and the emotional complexities of the new parental responsibility. I let the business grow biologically, always driven by connection, trust and compassion.

Innovation: What was the biggest discovery for your business?

The real turning point came when I recognized that families didn’t just need information; Needed company. In a world full of programs that can download and quickly corrections, parents longed for something deeper: someone who could walk with them to the dirty, emotional, beautiful parts of early parental responsibility.

This insight has led me to shift from one -off sleep is consulted to more striking packages that offer support, flexibility and real time compassion. I was removed from the editorial “sleeping” and to the soft, holistic guidance that focuses both children and The well -being of the parent.

It changes everything, for the families with which I work for me.

Ever since I made this change, I have completely closed my first month of launch and now I am directing a full summer program. It was incredible to see how many families seek active support that does not feel rigid or clinical, but human, sensitive and deeply personalized.

The discovery was not only in my business model. Was in the redefinition of sleep support box It looks like: collaborative, emotionally adapted and rooted in trust as well as evidence.

Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?

Honest? It is an ongoing juggle. I am married to a professional athlete, often away for work, and we raise two young children away from family support. This means that boundaries are essential and flexibility is not negotiable.

I put a work blocks, I protect the family time (most of the time!), And it leans strongly on the systems and my own village. I have learned to give myself the permission to shift priorities according to the season. It’s not perfect, but they’re honest.
