One day, in a Himalayan village …

What a really beautiful story about how Kartik and Skye met. We are very excited to share Skye’s interview with us, as well as these incredible wedding photos that Kartik himself took. With only one tripod we cannot believe how they have recorded the most romantic wedding images. Skye wears the Alaska silk -screen bridal.

Where did you meet?

Kartik and I met in the small village of Vashist in 2019, I am an Australian, but I worked in East and South Africa for the last 10 years and needed a break. I decided to spend 6 months in India and make a Himalayan village would make for the perfect escape and an ideal spot for some solo time to think about where I wanted my life to go afterwards.

I had no knowledge of the area and on my second day I was trying to get a Rickshaw to the nearest city to find a supermarket. It was rain and all the rickshaws were full. I thought I had to make my walk trip, but then a Rickshaw pulled out a local woman, Tara, told me I could drive with her. When he learned that I was looking to buy the ingredients to cook the mutter paneer (a local favorite) was very impressed and said we had to cook together one day.

During my first visit to her home, I was lost in the woods and after calling Tara, she said she would fall down a path to look for me and send her son under the other. Her son, Kartik, was the one who found me.

Where did you get married and why did you choose this place?

Kartik and I got married on a beach in Australia’s Port Melbourne on March 11, 2023. We decided to have our little girl in Australia and chose to marry with our feet in the sand and sea on our faces. We had identified an amazing spot near an old pier where the sunset would be perfect, but when we appeared for the wedding the tide was at the point where the point we found was under the water.

In addition, there was a huge ship that prevents the view! With 15 minutes to go before the ceremony, we shifted the wedding position to a pier below the road! Because our family and friends are spread all over the world, we have decided to keep our marriage very simple and have two witnesses present. Thus, the change in the last minute space was not a big deal. I wrote our own vows and found a wonderful celebration that was extremely relaxed and excited to marry us and included our unborn daughter, Evie, at the ceremony.

Tell us about the dress!

I was wearing the wedding dress with Alaska’s full -length silk dress. I was so happy when I found the Tiffany Rose website and I saw all the Incredible reviews From happy brides. I’m not an online clothing buyer at the best of moments – I always feel I have to try things – and so it was a little nervous to get a wedding dress online. Alaska’s dress immediately fell into my eye and after receiving my measurements, I arrived at customer service to confirm that I would order the right size. It was incredibly useful and when my dress arrived, I was absolutely excited to fit perfectly. I will always remember the day that arrived.

I was alone at home and when the beautiful box was delivered, I could include my excitement. I tried immediately and really felt like a million dollars. The quality was great, the right super flattering, and was incredibly comfortable. It was perfection and the tears in Kartik’s eyes when he first saw me in it they suggest that he thought it was very perfect.

Do you have any tips on other pregnant brides who plan wedding?

Embrace the precious opportunity to have your small part of your special day! The ceremony will unite you all! Keep things simple so you can enjoy every moment of the day and not add stress to your pregnancy. Choose a quality maternity dress that shows your hit and makes you feel like the beautiful bride you are.

Any other fun events to share with us?

Our beloved Evie was born on April 12, 2023 and we are unlimited grateful for her safe arrival. When she’s big enough, we can’t wait to tell her all about our wedding and show her photos in mom’s belly in the day. Speaking of pictures, all the photos of our wedding were taken by my husband. Kartik is a wedding photographer in India and so with the support of a reliable tripod, he took all our photos a day. The groom and the wedding photographer in one! Kartik, Evie and I will move to Vashist in October 2023. Our little family is excited by what is ahead.

Make the look

Alaska’s wedding dress combines a beautiful lace bloating with soft neck and elbow sleeves.

The luxurious 100% silk chiffon skirt floats effortlessly on the ground and creates a beautiful silhouette. Specialized designed to match and flatter your growing curves. You will look and feel the most beautiful on your special day.
