If you have reached the weight of your goal, but you are still struggling with persistent fat areas that will not go away from how hard you work or how healthy you eat-liposuction may be the solution to help perfect your results. This body contour process is not about weight loss. These are the reform and sculptural areas that are resistant to nutrition and exercise.

To skin care doctors, Dr. Labadie and her team perform liposuction near Boston using friction anesthesia, a safe and effective technique that eliminates the need for general anesthesia. You are awake during the process, but completely comfortable thanks to the solution used to prepare the area. This approach allows faster recovery, less risks and excellent results.

Read below for answers to some of the most common questions that Dr. Labadie from patients and see if liposuction may be suitable for you.

What happens during liposuction?

Step 1: Mapping of the treatment area
Before starting anything, I will work closely with you to highlight the exact areas for treatment. This step ensures that we are targeting the right points and achieving a balanced, natural effect.

Step 2: Anesthesia
After cleaning the area, I do some very small incisions in distinctive locations near the processing point. Through these incisions, I insert a thin tube called a tube to deliver the anesthetic solution. This fluid infects the area, accumulates the blood vessels to minimize bruises and helps to relax fat for easier removal.

Step 3: Execution of liposuction
Using the same microscopic incisions, then a specialized liposuction tube is used to gently suction fat. I carefully hire the area to create a smooth, natural outline. The goal is to remove all excess fat in the processing area, leaving behind a more sophisticated shape.

It is important to know that the visceral fat, the deepest fat that surrounds your organs in the abdomen, is not removed by liposuction. This type of fat best responds to lifestyle changes such as nutrition and exercise. Liposuction only targets subcutaneous fat, fat just beneath the skin and causes visible eliminations.

What to expect right after the procedure?

Once the fat is removed, you will be fitted with a compression garment, usually a ventricular binder, which you will wear under your clothes. This helps to reduce swelling, support healing and improve your final results. Some mild fluid drainage from the intersection areas are normal and expected in the first 24-48 hours. It usually resolves quickly and does not require stitches.

When can I go back to everyday life?

Most patients feel good enough to get back to work the next day, especially if the job is not physically demanding. However, it is important to avoid intense exercise or heavy lifting for about a week to allow your body to heal properly.

Why wear the compression garment after liposuction?

For the best results, I recommend wearing the compression garment, also known as Binder, as much as possible for the first month after your process. It can be removed for short breaks and soft shower, but the more consistent you are, the more smooth your therapeutic and final outline will be.

Will there be a follow -up appointment?

You will come back to see me about a month after the procedure so I can evaluate your progress. Until then, most of the swelling will have been reduced, although some mild swelling may remain. Tiny section areas may look pink at this stage, but they will continue to fade over time.

Are the results of liposuction permanently?

Yes, the results are permanent, as remote fat cells are not regenerated. However, to maintain your results, it is important to follow a healthy lifestyle. Gaining significant weight can cause the accumulation of other fat cells or fat in other areas of your body.

Who is the best candidate for liposuction?

The ideal candidate for liposuction usually:
– is at the weight of their target or close to their target
– maintains good general health
– deals with local fat that does not respond to exercise or diet
– has a fixed, elastic skin without significant relaxation or crumpled
It is also important to have realistic expectations – liposuction is a powerful sculpture tool, but it is not a solution for obesity or skin looseness.

Are you ready to take the next step?

If you are thinking of liposuction and want to know if it is right for you, do not hesitate to close a consultation with Dr. Labadie. It will lead you to all your choices, answer your questions and create a personalized plan to help you feel more confident in your body.
