Let’s talk about dry skin. The chances are, if you are over 40 years old, the production of your skin’s natural oil has slowed down and now you are wondering what kind of moisturizing cream is best for dry skin. Sounds, right? Most moisturizing skin moisturizers are loaded with what are called “parks” that are oils that give a thick, oily feel, but is this type of moisturizing cream that really corrects the dryness of your skin?

So let me start by saying that. Moisturizing creams have gone a long way and your mother’s moisturizing cream from the past did not work like those that were put forward today. However, many product producers have not innovated and may not give your dry skin what it really requires.

In this post, I will train you on how Moisturizers really work, because the types do not really reach the root of the subject and what to look for when you decide how to choose a moisturizing cream for dry skin. Let’s dive!

The History of Moistors

The use of moisturizers to treat dry skin dates from thousands of years with cultures using natural therapies such as animal fats, lanolin (derived from sheep wool), almonds and olives and wax bees. All of this has a fat feel to the skin, but they worked to relieve skin waterproofing and give a soft, flexible feel to the skin.

In the 19th century, cold cream was invented in the following years the oil jelly. They also have a greasy feel that would make dry skin feel better and less tight.

With the rise of cosmetic science and dermatology, moisturizing creams became extremely specialized and commercial moisturizing creams were developed using not only the oils (contempt), the addition of water and emulsifiers.

Fast forward to date, Moisturizers are constantly modernized to meet the needs of what we now need in a moisturizing dry skin cream, but it is not enough.

What made us believe that a severe oil -based moisturizing cream is the most effective for dry skin?

  • The oils give the illusion of a shine. The oils give an immediate shine as soon as it is applied and reflects the light so that the skin looks better. But that doesn’t mean it really corrects dryness from within.
  • A false sense of relief. Oils create flexibility and when a greasy moisturizing cream is applied and you talk or move your face around you, you do not feel “pulling” or “tightening” to the skin. People associate this feeling by not being dry. This is just a feeling. Again, this does not mean that it improves skin dryness.
  • We have come to wait for a certain type of moisturizing cream for dry skin – something with fenced and timely fenced. This has gone through the moisturizing agents of our mother and grandmother who – for most of us – were our initial influences of our skin care.

What does my dry skin really need?

  • Water/hydration. Both dry skin and oily skin require water. Skin cells are like fish and need water to live! This means, using a toner within 60 seconds after cleaning and removing it in liquid. Use a hyaluronic acid or liquid serum -rich moisturizing cream to deliver moisturizing the skin. Learn the difference between dryness and dehydration and follow -up this video. Also, drinking water will not hydrate your skin, but these three things will do it.
  • Oil. Only dry skin types require oil, since the oily skin is already incorporated.
  • A well -shaped moisturizing cream for dry skin, no matter how thick or heavy it is. Do not fall to think that only because something is rich and oily, that it is the treatment-all. Sometimes a moisturizing cream can add the required hydration and oil to the skin without They just sit on top of the skin.
  • Repair your skin barrier. To truly correct dryness you need to repair from inside the skin, not just on the surface of the skin. Learn to determine a damaged skin barrier.
  • Avoiding the use of hard products and ingredients. Did you know that vitamin C serum could create a “burn of acid vitamin C?” Oh. It’s not good.

How do I choose a moisturizing cream for dry skin?

  • Do not judge a product with its weight. You have to look beyond the texture, as even lighter textures can provide excellent hydration and repair. Avoid making assumptions when you find a rich, oily moisturizing cream.
  • Choose dry skin skin that restore the skin barrier. The ingredients listed in a bottle are often difficult to classify, but at least if a product is marketed for “barrier-refair”, this is a big sign.
  • Choose a dry skin moisturizing cream with these basic ingredients. If you really want to take seriously for correction of dry skin, look for ingredients such as niasinamide, linoleic acid, usnic acid, phytosterols, tiles, Shea butter, Squalane, Vitamin E, Dimethicone and Soy. (There are too many to record!) Here are five methods for repairing dry skin.
  • Consult an aesthetic or dermatologist for a dry skin cream recommendation. Trust those who really know and understand how the skin works, And what should your dry skin be restored.

Did you know that you can get a barrier correction without the use of fat fenced? Fat and prone acne on the skin does not need dry oil skin, but this does not mean that their barrier does not need help – especially with the use of acne treatments that can truly damage the barrier of the skin. Look at this before and after!

How long does it take to see an improvement in dryness when using the right moisturizing cream for dry skin?

The life cycle of a skin is 28 days, so it is important to give the product time to see results. Dry, thin skin needs time to escape and fall, giving way to new, soft and flexible skin.

If you are looking for a moisturizing cream for dry skin (which is amazingly light, because it doesn’t have to be heavy!) Try Skin balsam. With Barrier5 technology, it repairs the barrier of the skin, imitating your natural lipids of your skin, so that it moisturizes without feeling fat. It melts instead of sitting on top, offering a smarter way to correct dryness. After being applied, it will initially feel sticky, which comes from hydrated humidifies such as glycerin and propanodiol that lock in moisture. Once it dries, it begins to restore the barrier of your skin, creating a “second skin” phenomenon that lasts all night. By the morning, your skin will feel butter soft and refurbished.

moisturizing cream and ingredients

If you prefer a more traditional, richer feel, mattress with Rest day mask At the top or use a skin oil, but in itself, it provides all the moisture that your skin needs for long -term barrier health.

Summary…

As a specialist who has touched thousands of faces, I am here to tell you that you have to think again how you moisturize. After all, it’s a product you use every day and you want to get the greatest benefit. You cannot rely on a basic heavy, thick, fatty moisturizing cream to correct dryness. It’s not enough. You need a dry skin moisturizing cream that can really repair the skin so you can be on your way for soft, healthy and cool skin!
