What is nettle?

Rake (nettle (Urtica dioica) It is a flowering factory located in many areas around the world, including Northern Europe, Asia, Canada and the US, in addition to Hawaii, is located in every state here in the US, this luxurious, perennial plant grows from sea levels to subdivisions and is very persistent. The bite mechanism that many members of Wrinkle The family holds, it comes from hollow hairs of bite called hair. Basically, a sharp spot that introduces a combination of chemicals under the skin to produce the sense of sting. Fun, the juice of the leaves of the plant soothes its sting.

How to grow nettle

You can easily make rakes in nearby forests – depending on your biofargism – in spring and early summer. If you want to grow your own nettle, choose a spot in your yard or garden with a wet, rich soil and make sure to plant the nettle at a good distance from other plants. Plant the nettle seeds (which you can find in many garden stores) in rows and cover lightly with the ground. You can also retain nettle seeds of ripe nettle plants that have bloomed and go to seeds (the seeds are also edible!). Keep the ground moist and the seeds will germinate in about two weeks. The leaves will be ready for harvest after about 80 or 90 days. For the best taste and nutrition, you harvest the top 4-5 inches of the plant. Just don’t forget to wear gloves to harvest them.

Nettle health benefits

Nettle has been used all over the world to help treat a wide range of grief. High iron content (3.2 mg per 200 grams of raw nettle) can help prevent anemia. Nettle has been used throughout history in traditional medicine to treat conditions such as arthritis, kidney stones, diarrhea, sprains, high blood pressure, fever and ulcers. Although there is not enough research on these specific health benefits, studies show that nettle has biological activities, including anti-hydrarrrrrrrrrrrrrrness, liver and kidney protection, diuretics, anti-diabetics, antiviral and immune.

Nettle

Like many other dark leafy greens, nettle nettle contains relatively high levels of protein and fiber for low calorie level. It also has one of the highest chlorophyll contents of any plant and supplies vitamins K, C, A, calcium and iron, as well as healthy fatty acids. Scientific reports on the phytochemical analysis of nettle have revealed more than 123 bioactive compounds, including terpenoids, flavonoids, lignans, sterles and polyphenols.

Nettle

Nettle has been part of many different cultural diets for thousands of years, from diets in ancient Rome to the style of tribal nutrition in the Himalayas and North America. Young nettle leaves appear in many traditional recipes, such as salads, soups, pin and teas. Some indigenous populations enjoy fresh nettle leaves or tonic in spring.

Although the nettle is difficult to handle, a slight exposure to heat beats these vines full of sting in super delicious greens. With a deep, earthy flavor reminiscent of plants that erupt from winter soil, nettle shows us that spring is here. Nettle can be completely served as green alone, used in a souffle, or over pasta or pizza for a bright green dash.

Guide to cooking nettle

The first step in cooking is to clean the nettle. One way to handle the TROTHIA is to place them in a strainer and while the water runs, beat the nettles with a knife or spoon for a few minutes until slightly Macerated. Then drain the water, cut the leaves and remove the large stems. Please refer to the following step by step photo guide.

Another way to prepare nettle is the blanching method. Place the nettle in a saucepan of boiling water for a few seconds. This not only cleanses the nettle, but it turns off the sting.
