Share a quick and delicious recipe for a healthy salad dressing: balsamic honey!

Hello friends! Happy Monday! I hope you are enjoying the day so far and have a great weekend! We had an amazing dinner at our friends house and spent the rest of the weekend running errands and relaxing. I took a three hour nap on Saturday which was all. After a few weeks of travel and the pilot work weekend, it was our first *normal* weekend at home in a month, so it was much appreciated.

Today, I wanted to share my salad dressing with you. I can’t believe I’ve been blogging this long and haven’t devoted an entire post to this outfit. This is my passion. I use it for dinner parties, make it ahead of time to enjoy throughout the week, and it’s always so easy and delicious. I don’t usually like the dressings that come with salad kits, so this is what I’ll often use to replace it. I like the taste and ingredients much more!

If you haven’t already made your own salad dressing, definitely give this one a try. You’ll see how simple and enjoyable it can be 🙂 Let me know if you decide to add it to your rotation!

Balsamic honey dressing recipe

Making your dressing gives you transparency about ingredients, helping you make informed choices about what you consume. Honey Balsamic Dressing is a prime example of a tasty yet healthy option. With just a handful of cupboard staples, you can make a dressing that’s sweet, tangy, and incredibly versatile.

Components:

1/3 cup balsamic vinegar

2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons of honey

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1 clove of garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: The Foundation

Start by combining the balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil in a bowl. This dynamic duo forms the basis of your outfit, providing a perfect balance of acidity and richness.

Step 2: Add the sweetness

Add 2 tablespoons of honey to the mix, providing a natural sweetness that balances the tartness of the balsamic. Adjust the amount based on your desired level of sweetness.

Step 3: Mustard

Add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard to the mixture. This not only enhances the flavor profile, but also contributes to a subtle heat that elevates the overall flavor.

Step 4: Season to perfection

Season your creation with garlic and dried herbs, with salt and pepper to taste, ensuring the dressing hits the perfect balance of savory and sweet.

Step 5: Emulsify with a good shake

Seal the ingredients in a jar, giving them a good shake. This emulsifies the mixture, creating a cohesive and velvety dressing that will coat your salad beautifully. i also love this salad dressing mixer.

Storage and service:

Stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, this honey balsamic dressing can last up to a week. Its versatility makes it perfect for green salads, vegetable bowls, or even as a marinade for grilled proteins.
