Within: Listen to rumors that the baby’s carrots are soaked with chemicals – or worse, not even “real carrots”? Here are the facts!

For such a child -friendly veggie, baby carrots certainly have the goal of some unpleasant online coatings.

Rumors of toxic chemicals abound. Thus, the accusations that baby carrots are not even “real carrots”.

So what is the truth and what is fiction? Here are answers to the carrot questions that your baby burns!

Are Baby Real Carrots carrots?

Yes, baby carrots are carrots. It is not a creepy laboratory food-or a remains of a carrot.

Technically, carrots They are carrots that are collected when they are still small. You may see those sold in shops with green tops.

Composted Carrots are a special variety of carrots that grow and closely cut from machinery to smaller pieces after harvest. The exterior are polished and peeled and the edges are rounded. They are washed, bags and ready to eat.

They got out of a farmer who started cutting the endless, cosmetic challenged carrots into smaller pieces to avoid wasting. It was a hit among customers, and carrot consumption actually has doubling Since they officially came to the market in the early 1990s.

Today, most of the carrots purchased are baby carrots.

Are carrots cut babies as nutritious as big carrots?

Yes. Baby carrots have similar nutritional benefits to other carrots.

A carrot’s 3-bare service with baby provides:

  • More than a day of value of vitamin A kids need
  • 2-3 grams of fiber
  • A little iron, potassium and calcium

It is also an easy and convenient way for children to get more vegetables (and most children do not eat enough fruits and vegetables).

See the graphics of what they look like with one day’s fruits and vegetables for different age groups.

What are the white things on baby carrots?

If you see white spots or streaks, this is not a bleach, chlorine, pesticides or anything else scary thing people say on the internet. It’s dehydration.

The baby’s carrots are peeled so they are ready to eat, but this makes them more prone to dry. When they lose moisture, they can develop a white appearance. And it has a name: “Blush carrot”. (You may notice that baby carrots have some water in the bag with them-that is, to avoid this to happen.)

Do you have dry, white carrots? Don’t put them on. Just enjoy them in cold water. They will moisturize and see and taste fresh again.

Baby carrots are soaked in chemicals?

Not exactly – and certainly not the way many people think.

Carrots cut babies, like other types of products, are washed after harvest in a water solution containing chlorine to help kill pathogens such as E. Coli and Salmonella. They were then rinsed with water and bags.

However, the amount of chlorine in the solution is actually similar to the amount of chlorine found in regular tap water coming out of your faucet – in other words, the water you use to rinse products and at home.

(And for recording, water is also “chemical”.

Why do my baby’s carrots get slimy?

If you have reached an open baby carrot bag and have felt slippery or slimy, this was caused by excessive accumulation of moisture.

Grimmway farms In fact, he suggests storing baby cutting carrots in a re -refunded plastic bag or airtight container after opening. Placing a wet paper towel in the bag or container can help extend the freshness.

Have baby carrots added to them?

No. All carrots are sweet, but sugar happens naturally, the same kind of natural sugar that makes apples and sweets.

So you will see about 5 grams of sugar on the nutrition panel. But if you look at the list of ingredients, there is only one ingredient (carrots!).

These five grams are not added sugar, the kind of manufacturers. It is natural sugar, not something you have to worry about, and part of what makes carrots cut so attractive to children.

Why deal with baby carrots?

Don’t like the carrots cut by the baby? Think that greater flavors have a better taste? Would you rather peel and cut your own? Go for it!

But baby -cut carrots are a great way to enjoy more vegetables on cars, picnic, lunch boxes, office, fast food kids and classrooms.

Anything that makes it easier for people to eat fruits and vegetables is good in my book.

Threshold

Carrots cut babies are carrots!

If you prefer the taste or texture of normal carrots, by all means buy them.

But if you like the ease of carrots cut by the baby, you are more likely to pack them in meals and serve them as a snack and your kids are more likely to eat them, buy them!
