I was interested in the health of men most of my life. The fact that triggered my lifelong interest happened when I was five years old. My father in the middle of my life had become more and more depressed when he could not live to support his family and was hospitalized. I grew up wondering what happened to my father when it happened to me and what I could do to keep it happen to other families. I knew I wanted to be a healer when I grew up.

I graduated from college and was accepted to the UC Medical School of UC San Francisco in 1965. I was hoping to become a psychiatrist, but later I was transferred to UC Berkeley when I found that the medical school was very limited and did not focus on the whole person. I graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Social Work in 1968 and my first job was in a residential treatment program for humans, mainly men, who had problems with substance abuse.

When our first son, Jemal, was born in 1969, I made a promise that I would be a different father than my father was able to be for me and do everything I could to help create a world where men were fully dedicated and engaged in their families. In 1972, I started Menalive, one of the first programs in the country to focus specifically on men’s health.

Although there have been numerous men’s health programs developed over the years, most of them did not last long. I believe there was a myth that the entire healthcare system is truly focused on the needs of males and we do not need programs specifically for men. However, we know that studies continue to show that men, as a group, die at a younger age than women and men suffer from most chronic diseases with higher percentages than women.

My colleague will Courtenay, Phd, writer of Dying to become men, says,

“Men in the United States have greater socio -economic advantages than women.

Not only did I see the problem in my family, but to the families of thousands of customers who came to Menalive since we started in 1972. I have written seventeen books on various aspects of men’s health. My most popular and widely read book, Male menopauseIt was first published in 1997 and became an international best seller, translated into fifteen foreign languages. The findings of the research mentioned in the book came to the conclusion:

“Men, like women, experience complex hormonal rhythms that affect their sexuality, mood and temperament.”

GameDay Men’s Health: Made for every man’s health journey

When I first learned Men’s Gameday health I was very impressed. They offer the kind of service I have rarely seen in any health care environment.

When I visited the Gameday website I have a feeling for the program:

“The comfort level we provide you can be summarized in one word: listening. To be your best, you must feel your best. So when you walk on the gameday, we start at the right foot. Hardly pressed to find anywhere else.”

I was even more impressed after I interviewed Founder of Gameday Men’s Health, Evan Miller, PhD.

I asked Dr. Miller how he came to deal with men’s health problems.

“Similar to you, my background is on the clinical side,” he told me, “I am a diploma in clinical psychology, so I come throughout this world of medical health care from a very psychological angle.

Immediately I felt that Dr. Miller was a kinship.

“I really fell in love with the work, with people dealing with people especially, helping them get them out of feel broken to become fully healed, I liked to see the light returning to their eyes as the treatment happened, but his 24/7 job and somehow burned.”

As someone who worked in the field of addictions for many years, I knew exactly what he was talking about.

“I wanted to do something else,” continued Dr. Miller. “I wanted to throw a wider net. I wanted to find the mainstream average feel better. “

I smiled and shook with common recognition.

“Now, the personal side has come here,” he continued. “I was thirty -four, thirty -five, but I didn’t feel like myself. I was athlete all my life, care for myself. I knew how to eat well, to sleep well, to exercise. But just Wasn’t there. Just out of appearance, I got my laboratory work and asked to check my testosterone levels. ”

Here is where the story of Dr. Miller is really interesting for him and for millions of men like him.

“I was told for the first time. I didn’t need my testosterone levels checked.” You are young, wait until the sixty -five, then we will try you. ”

Fortunately, Dr. Miller insisted on knowing what his testosterone levels were. Tests revealed that his testosterone was very low, which helped to take into account the negative way he felt.

From there the idea of the health of men’s men’s health was born. What do you say to create a program for men starting with Hormone Health Number One. Let’s put it in a setting that is comfortable, he thought.

“That was, and we went.”

Now I was really excited and I wanted to know more details.

“We are still a young company,” Dr. Miller started, “We started Gameday in 2018.

But Dr. Miller wanted more than changing the environment of the environment. He wanted to change the way in which care was given.

‘I wanted to be fast and effective’

Dr. Miller told me.

“So I put an authorized workshop right in the clinic so that children can get what they need quickly and effectively:

Step 1: Enter a welcoming clinic area, fill in a quick intake form, have a simple blood test and get results in just 15 minutes.

Step 2: Get to know a clinical manager who specializes in all things – testosterone hormone optimization, sexual health and erectile dysfunction, weight loss, peptide treatment and vitamin treatment. Discuss your concerns with them and get a custom evaluation to understand your needs.

Step 3: If it is eligible, start your personalized therapeutic plan immediately, created specifically for your goals. ”

Then things really took off. The men came from everyone and Dr. Miller opened other clinics in the San Diego area. He knew that there was a huge need for what he had created.

“We decided to Franchise Gameday in 2022 and by 2023 it became the fastest growing franchise of all time. We have 335 locations open now and 1,000 locations in growth.”

“Demand is huge,” concluded Dr. Miller. “Men want real health care. Kids wake up and say I want to feel better now. I don’t want to wait for the line for care that is limited and does not face my needs.”

This is the kind of health care that I believe people need. You can find out more about the health of the Gameday men by going to their website.

You can find out more about Dr. Evan Miller here. You can see the full Interview with Evan Miller, PhD, here.

I told Dr. Miller, I would like to interview him and hear again about how the health of Gameday men are gone. If you want to read more articles on men’s health issues, I invite you to sign up for free weekly newsletter.
