Closing the doors to the Grounded Sage studio

🚪🔒💔 Full warning – this is noisy.

It’s incredible to reflect on the journey you and I have been on and the evolution of Grounded Sage since its humble beginnings in 2009.

2009 – Every time I type this, I stop because I always start typing 2..0..1… because it’s hard to believe it’s been almost a decade and a half since I’ve been standing alongside glowing revolutionaries on their natural skincare journey.

I have to say this is a tough post to write. It comes with a lot of sadness.

It also feels surreal – almost an out-of-body experience sitting at my desk trying to write the announcement that still doesn’t feel real. It’s an announcement that’s frankly quite terrifying.

But here goes…

As you have read in a previous announcement, the studio is on hiatus (we are still shipping orders but not making products). I mentioned that we might hibernate all winter since the Holiday Blitz orders were on their way (the last order from Holiday Blitz was delivered to the post office on November 17th).

When I wrote this announcement, I knew a break was inevitable and something I’ve been putting off for longer than I’d like to admit (admitting that circumstances have changed and I’m not the superhuman I once was is a hard pill to swallow swallow!)

The truth is, I genuinely want to continue to support the brilliant rebel community by making the products you rely on. Some of you have allowed me to support your skin over the past 14 years – an honor for which I am so grateful. There’s something extraordinary about being on this patchouli ride together, which has been going on since Instagram was still a thing.

As the glittering rebel community has grown, and I’ve tried to keep up, it’s time to admit that I just can’t anymore.

This week, I made all the products I could with the ingredients and packaging I had on hand. As much as it pains me to say this, I might as well have made my own last batch of products for Grounded Sage Skincare.

I often lean into the “never say never” platitude, so I have a hard time drawing a hard line in the sand and saying this is the end of an era for Grounded Sage. It’s hard to say with 100% certainty that the last Grounded Sage product was made this week. It’s hard to understand that what’s on the shelves is what’s available… And that’s it. Forever.

So I won’t say that. However, ever the realist, I know there is a good chance that the studio side of Grounded Sage is closed for good.

It is unlikely that the hibernation of the studio will be lifted in the spring. Could Grounded Sage’s studio be revived with a fresh wave of whatever magic has kept the mixers spinning all this time? Definitely – never say never after all 😉

But at heart, my reluctance to draw that hard line in the sand is mostly a stubborn resistance to change and a fear of free-falling into the unknown.

That’s why I’m not letting the business go completely (at least not yet).

I have created one Recipe of the month club and the Recipe Vault on Patreon (patreon.com/groundedsage) for those who want to dive into the world of DIY skin care using recipes I’ve developed over the years.

For those who don’t necessarily want to DIY their skin care but need guidance in understanding the unique factors that could be keeping their acne-prone skin in flare cycleI’ve compiled the in-person lab I used to run into a self-paced program found at groundedsage.thinkific.com

So, where do we go from here?

The latest Grounded Sage products are made and ready to ship, so get started by stocking up on the products you’ll miss the most ➜ SHOP GROUNDEDSAGE.COM

Over the next few days, I’ll be continuing this conversation via email (so make sure you’re on the mailing list for updates). I’ll tell you more about resources to continue your skincare journey once the shelves are cleared in Grounded Sage’s studio, and we’ll work through this transition together.

But first, get the products you’ve loved. I’ll be back in your inbox soon to discuss more about turning off this patchouli route.

As always, the Facebook group is open to starting conversations with other glowing revolutionaries and seeking skincare support.

Deep breaths on repeat,

💚 Jamie

TLDR: The studio is closing and all products made and ready to ship are available in the online store. Once they are used up, they will not be refilled and the studio will be closed. ➜ GROUNDEDSAGE.COM STORE
