Change is inevitable, and you can only see that by watching the evolution of a person. They all start out as adolescent babies, before morphing into longer-limbed, tougher, toothy adults. The soft, adorable rolls of baby fat morph into the lean muscle of adolescence, the contour of adulthood, and then finally return to softness.

As we age, our skin changes, our metabolism changes and so do our hormones. The simple truth is that time inevitably changes our bodies and it can reach a point where it is impossible to get the right curves and contours in the right places.

Whether it’s aging, genetics, pregnancy and childbirth, or all of the above, you’re not alone, and luckily, you have plenty of options. Thanks to the highly innovative field of medical aesthetics, there are now safe and effective options for rejuvenating your body and sculpting your shape that don’t require a single incision, allowing you to look and feel your best.

About Facial Aesthetics is a proud provider of body sculpting treatments in Philadelphia to tighten loose skin, reduce stubborn fat and restore lost confidence.

What is Body Sculpting?

Body sculpting refers to a combination of non-surgical treatments and techniques to enhance and enhance the natural contours of your body. In other words, body sculpting in Philadelphia is a high-tech, non-invasive way to refine areas of your body.

There’s more to getting in shape than losing weight. Fat reduction is usually the first thing clients think of when it comes to body sculpting in Philadelphia. While fat reduction plays an important role in optimizing your body shape, there are other important pieces to the puzzle. (But if you want to lose weight, stay tuned for an exciting medical weight loss program we’ll be launching in the near future!)

Loose skin can easily stand between you and the body of your dreams, even after you’ve reached your ideal weight. After losing a lot of weight, many of our clients are discouraged when they notice that their skin looks stretched and loose. For example, instead of snapping back into place like it’s “supposed” to after working hard to lose 20+ pounds, one client’s stomach skin was now hanging over the waist of her pants.

By tightening loose skin and eliminating those last deposits of stubborn fat, body sculpting treatments can reduce sagging skin and improve the appearance of your physique.

Body Sculpting Treatments in Philadelphia

At About Face Aesthetics, we provide a range of customizable body sculpting treatment options in Philadelphia so we can meet the complex and unique needs of each of our clients.

Our treatments can be loosely classified into two main categories based on the results they provide: skin tightening and fat reduction. Some treatments can sometimes even provide a combination of skin tightening and fat reduction, although the results usually appear more pronounced as one or the other.

In other words, it’s usually best to combine a treatment that focuses on skin tightening with a treatment that focuses on fat reduction (or vice versa) as opposed to expecting a single treatment to provide equal amounts of both benefits.

If you’re not sure what type of body sculpting treatment you need in Philadelphia, there’s no need to worry. At About Face Aesthetics, this is not a decision you should make alone. Schedule a consultation with us and tell us about your concerns and we can help you determine the best treatment for you!

Thermage

If skin tightening is the goal, then Thermage can help you cross the finish line. Thermage is a revolutionary, non-invasive skin-relaxing solution for the face and body that uses radio frequency energy to smooth and tighten the skin.

Skin tightening can not only improve the overall appearance and shape of your face and body, but also rejuvenates the skin from the inside out. Clients receiving Thermage treatments can expect more rigorous treatments and youthful skin.

Thermage works by directing RF heat into the dermis to stimulate collagen production and restore existing collagen strands. Some skin treatments that use similar heating technology can cause discomfort or thermal damage to the skin’s surface. However, Thermage has a built-in cooling system to keep the skin surface at a comfortable temperature.

Each Thermage treatment session lasts approximately 60 minutes and usually only one session is needed to achieve maximum results

Not only is Thermage completely non-invasive, it also requires no downtime. This means you can go back to business as usual once your session is over.

SculpSure

FDA approved to eliminate excess body fat, SculpSure is a key component in many of our Philadelphia body sculpting clients’ treatment plans. SculpSure uses focused light energy (laser) to heat and destroy fat cells under the skin.

Like Thermage, SculpSure also uses cooling technology to regulate the surface temperature of the skin. This allows it to heat the subcutaneous (under the skin) tissue to fat-melting temperatures without causing any damage to the skin.

It’s important to keep in mind that SculpSure is, first and foremost, a fat-reducing treatment. That said, it can sometimes cause a mild amount of skin tightening. In this case, clients who need fat reduction and skin tightening for body sculpting in Philadelphia are usually best served by combining SculpSure with a separate skin tightening treatment.

SculpSure sessions are usually 25 minutes. We will determine the number of recommended treatment sessions during the consultation after we have had the opportunity to assess the amount of unwanted fat to be removed and where it needs to be removed, but on average most people benefit from 4 sessions.

SculpSure is most commonly used to reduce stubborn fat in the abdomen, love handles, back and thighs.

RF Microneedling

When your body stops producing collagen like it used to, your skin tends to become thinner and more prone to sagging and wrinkles. Fortunately, RF microneedling is a fantastic solution for the skin to boost collagen production.

Microneedling creates a series of micro-injuries in the skin tissue to elicit a powerful healing response from your body without causing permanent damage. The production of new collagen and elastin (the building blocks for firmer, firmer, more youthful-looking skin) occurs as part of this healing response.

Essentially, what RF microneedling does is harness your body’s natural healing and repair processes to rejuvenate your skin from the inside out.

RF microneedling’s ability to tighten the skin makes it an extremely valuable tool in our Philadelphia body sculpting toolbox. In addition to tightening loose skin, RF microneedling can also be used to treat many different skin problems, including:

  • Streaks
  • Thin lines
  • Sun spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Scars & acne scars
  • Rosacea
  • Melasma

In addition to Morpheus8, we also use other microneedling devices such as SkinPen and Vivace RF microneedling.

Microneedling treatment sessions usually last around 30 minutes and most of our About Face Aesthetics clients need 3 to 6 sessions to achieve the desired results. Regarding downtime, the required recovery time varies from client to client and is also affected by the intensity of the treatments and the size of the treatment area. The most common treatment areas for microneedling are the face, hands, hips and stomach.

Bucket

Not all body sculpting treatments in Philadelphia require electricity. Bucket is an injectable fat reduction solution. When injected into excess fat, Kybella permanently destroys the fat cells over the course of a few to several weeks.

One of the treatment areas most often associated with Kybella is the double chin (also known as excess submental fat), but Kybella can also be used on many other areas of the body, including:

  • Jaw
  • Neck
  • Armpit/bra fat
  • Back swelling
  • Belly
  • Love handles
  • Knees
  • Under the butt (“banana roll”)

So, what exactly is in a Kybella injection? The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a chemical produced naturally by your body. Deoxycholic acid is produced and used by the body to do exactly what Kybella injections do – help the body break down and absorb fat.

Each Kybella treatment session lasts approximately 30 minutes and most of our About Face Aesthetics clients require 2 to 3 injection sessions to achieve their optimal results. The results of Kybella are permanent, and as long as clients maintain their weight, their results will last long into the future.

After getting Kybella for body sculpting in Philadelphia, most of our clients experience some degree of swelling. If you experience swelling after your injections, don’t worry. Swelling is a normal part of the process and should subside in 1 to 2 weeks. You may also experience pain and tenderness during this time, but this too should resolve on its own.
