Preventing tooth decay in children and helping to maintain your child’s oral health doesn’t have to involve strict diets or restrictions on foods they love. Instead, let’s explore ways to cultivate healthy habits from a very young age. Healthy habits that will support both their teeth and their general well-being. It is my pleasure to introduce you to the wonderful Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Kari, who owns it BabyTooth in Calgary, Alberta. Breathwork helps reduce stress and anxiety. You know this. But the prospect of standing still may not appeal to you if you want to push these feelings out of your body, rather than gain control of them from within. There are times when you want to turn inward—but if you’re too anxious, it can also make you ruminate more. So it’s also okay to take that anger/anxiety/sadness and blast it out with all your might. In fact, there’s a name for how you can use your body to physically regulate emotions: physical exercises. Body movement involves paying attention to what…
Researchers have identified 22 pesticides consistently linked to prostate cancer incidence in the United States, with four of the pesticides also linked to prostate cancer mortality. The findings are published by Wiley online at CANCERa peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society. To assess county-level associations of 295 pesticides with prostate cancer in United States counties, researchers conducted an environmental association study, using a lag period between exposure and prostate cancer incidence of 10–18 years to account for slow growing nature of most prostate cancers. The years 1997-2001 were assessed for pesticide use and 2011-2015 for prostate cancer outcomes. Similarly,…

Scientists have discovered a way to target elusive circular DNA fragments that drive survival of some of the most aggressive cancers, paving the way for future treatments. In three groundbreaking papers published today in Naturescientists from the Cancer Grand Challenges eDyNAmiC team and their international collaborators at the Francis Crick Institute and University College London (UCL) shed light on the unique behavior of extrachromosomal DNA (ecDNA), the small, circular DNA structures common to some of the most difficult cancers to treat. The papers identify, for the first time, how to target specific cancer cells that contain this malignant DNA, a…
I have had a bad long journey with my mental health. And when I thought about it the other day, I couldn’t believe it’s already been 18 years since I first felt like that anxious teenager, scared and completely stuck in my head. The reason for this is that I want to share practical things that have made a difference…

And while the safety key (sometimes called a clip) on a treadmill can help save you from falling (they brake the machine immediately when you pull it), it can double as a choking hazard for small children. If your space allows, storing your treadmill in a locked room can prevent kids from prying it in the first place.Runway care and maintenanceAccording to some manufacturers, if you leave a treadmill in a garage or outside where the temperature drops below freezing or humid air soaks into the machine, it will stop working properly.
