Slide in, lace up, feel great.

Better Overall: Nobull Drive Knit

These winners of the Self Sneaker Award have a low heel-toe drop (also known as the difference in the height between the front and the heel-in this case, four millimeters) that will keep you grounded if you are weighty. At the same time, they have an elastic medium foam sole to absorb shock from high -impact movements such as running or jumping. And the outer rubber sole will keep you from slipping during a sprint. Another nice detail? The knit upper top of the sock allows your feet to breathe, stopping the sweat on its routes.

Our tester wore these through several hours Gym Hiit lessons, and had only good things to say: “Once the shoe is up – you really have to pull it off the heel loop to get your foot – it’s so comfortable,” they said. “There is so much pillow under my feet, but it does not feel bulky or as if walking on giant platforms. It is extremely light, and after multiple dresses, I had no blisters, random pain or noble.

Kat escobarAn L1 Crossfit and CrossFit Coach Certified Coach Coach, which is based in Los Angeles, is these colorful sneakers for those who could use an extra room, especially in the finger box. This feature is also nice for competent weight, because spreading your legs during repetitions improves your balance and stability, he points out.

Escobar says these shoes are durable and comfortable to wear many hours of training and training sessions: “They are ideal for hiit workouts because they can literally do it all,” Self says. “I can run, turn heavy, jump and everything into cross training. I like to feel safe in them, especially after being recovered by Achilles’ rupture, make me feel like I can do anything with them.”

Sizes: 6 to 11 Fall heel to finger: 6mm

Better for stability: Rad One V2

Rad One Sneakers is the new cool kick on the block (see these colorways!), But it’s not just for look. Escobar says they are great to run and get up: “The sole feels stable and supportive and creates a good foundation,” he explains. “And who doesn’t like to look good while working?”

Jacob Barriosthe coach and the owner of Old Town High School In Pasadena, California, he also loves his couple. “I train daily with a crossfit and high -intensity mixture. “They are incredibly flexible and quite resistant to heavy lifts, but lightweight and respond to dynamic movement. The only strike is a perfect balance between stability and flexibility, which is the key to explosive, multidimensional movements in Hiit workouts.” He adds that the low heel drop (sixmm) is ideal for maintaining good posture during lifting.

Sizes: 5.5 to 15.5 Fall heel to finger: 6mm

Better for the street in the gym: Nike Air Max Scre

Looking for something you can wear after the ends of the class? Kate Davies DurandFounder of Yoga and Pilates Studio based in Brooklyn Yo bkIt is recommended to try these Nike’s sneakers. Their middle foam sole has enough pillow to make them comfortable for long walks (or quickly sprints), but they do not have a dramatic heel or lifting, which makes them quite stable for exercises where you need to remain balanced (think: squattings or Lunges).

“They are extremely comfortable and you can go out of the way to training them,” says Davies Durand. The suede and skin make the shoe look more elegant, but their upper is mostly made of breathable grid, so your feet will not drown – another detail that it likes.

Best for Beginners: Nike MetCon 9

Nike’s MetCon was a popular choice among trainers for years – for good reason. “It offers a reliable handle, rigid heels for lifting stability and good arch support, making them a popular choice for beginners who want to invest in a reliable exercise shoe,” Barrios says.

Corey Brueckner, NASM-CPTA General Manager at the Life Time Studio in Haccensack, New Jersey, also recommended them to themselves. “It’s a very good weight lifting shoe and good for functional movements, such as CrossFit or a Hiit Cardio category,” he said. “Your foot feels supported when you lace them tight.”

HFS II road shoes

If you like the idea of zero -down shoes that allow you to feel the floor under your feet, you can’t beat these Xero shoes. We have set up a few pairs before (Xero Forza won a sneake of sneakers), but these are ideal for hiit in particular.

MariaThe certified coach and the nutrition coach, the professional physical bodybuilder and the owner of the Muscle Education Company from Maria, tells himself that HFS II is lightweight and flexible, which loves sprints, jumping rope and dynamic circuits. “They are breathable and let my feet move naturally, but they also have a very grippier sole, making them the perfect choice to stick to explosive movements,” he says.

How did we choose the best shoes for hiit

To find top hiit shoes, we talked to gym trainers and experts who know what exercises need to be prepared for your feet. They shared the sneakers that run in the classroom and revealed the properties they are looking for while shopping for a young couple. We have also examined the previous Self Sneaker Awards to find reliable favorite authors who have brought us through HIIT training for years.

What should you look for in Hiit shoes?

Hiit workouts often include weight lifting and complex movements such as squatters that are easier when you can feel the floor under you. To stay stable, our experts recommend sticking with shoes that have a slight decline in heel to finger (six millimeters or less).

“I avoid too much pillows or high stack shoes because they can get bored of the sense of soil contact, which is important for flexibility exercises, jumps of box or quick turns,” says Pro. “I want to feel grounded and connected to the floor. So I can move quickly and gently land with the right mechanics.” A minimalist shoe with eight millimeters or less foam should fit the account.

Make sure your toes have enough space to spread through your shoes. This will help you catch the ground better while raising weights (for more stability) and can also help you get involved in your leg muscles.

Davies Durand recommends looking for shoes with some pillows under the heel for additional comfort and support. If you have plantar fascist as it does, this is even more important. The self has previously stated that a deep heel of heel supports your foot by limiting the spectrum of its movement, preventing you from rolling your ankles inward and stretching your plantar fascia.

Avoid super -filled arches that force your foot in an unnatural position (Ouch). Instead, look for a middle sole that follows the natural shape of your foot.

Frequently questions

What is the difference between intersecting training and sports HIIT?

First, let’s break how the hiit is different from cross -training. Cross-training is a workout that uses different movements to target different parts of the body on the same day or week, says Davies Durand. Think: Going for a run, then lifting weights; or treating an ABS circuit and then moves through a yoga flow. Hiit can also focus on different muscle groups – but the key here is to train in very short explosions (20 to 30 seconds) in maximum effort.

So how does this translate into your new kick? “Cross-training shoes are designed to be versatile in a wide range of activities-from lifting, in the heart, in light flexibility work, they usually offer more structure and support, which can be great for lifting and general fitness sessions,” the Pro says. “However, sometimes they can be very bulky or rigid for the explosive, high and fast demands of Hiit.”

Hiit shoes “tend to be lighter, more flexible and provide greater soil feedback, which helps with quick changes in direction, jumps and fast footwork,” says Pro. “They are also usually designed to handle multiple directions and shock absorption without sacrificing flexibility.
