You took the test and saw those two faint lines… then you did 10 more. Excited (and maybe a little scared), you want to tell your friends and family right away. But how are you going to do it? There are so many ways to announce your pregnancy to your loved ones or on social media. You might want to understand cute ways to tell your husband you are pregnant If you have no idea where to start, don’t worry! Here’s some inspo or better yet, steal these ideas!

We know social media can be a big deal these days, and your pregnancy might not be real until you post about it.

You can never go wrong with a letter board post. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. We’ve also seen the trending press releases if you want a more modern look! A simple yet fashionable change to announce your new baby.

If you plan to keep it simple, you can always choose a photo of your ultrasound. Surround it with photo props like flowers, a cake, sweet treats, your dog or some other animal in the house holding the photo in its mouth, or something that represents you and your partner!

Picture this: an empty wine glass, the beach, a picnic, and your ultrasound photo with the caption “Don’t refill until (Month) (Year)”

If you’re a coffee lover… “It’s time to spill the beans… baby (last name) (#__) is getting ready!”

For funny captions, here are some of our favorites: “Expecting new roommate (month) (year), “Looking forward to new tax deduction in (year)!”, “I like big hits and can’t lie, “I’ll we need a bigger car,” & “No, really… this is the last one.”

For more than one child we like these ideas: “Soon we will be a family (number),” “Big Brother” – they say it’s a promotion, but all I see is no pay rise and more responsibilities,” “The only child expires (month) (year),” “We figured since the kids are sleeping through the night, they all go to school in the fall, and we absolutely got rid of every baby we have for the 2nd time… we might as well start over! Baby #4 is coming (month),” “Pink or blue, either will – we’re waiting – baby #2.”

Other sneaky ways to announce your pregnancy are to have a scavenger hunt for your family (works great with little ones), drop arrangement hints on social media or in person, or plan a surprise photo shoot! Let’s see you get smart, mom!😉

Fun ways to tell older siblings about your pregnancy

Before you can post on social media, the best part is to tell your other little ones and/or family members in person! Don’t feel like you have to rush, Mom. Some children are not very familiar with the concept of time (yet) and wait until second trimester or the end of the first trimester can help your little one visualize.

Depending on their age, some fun ways to tell older siblings about pregnancy it’s having them read a “Big Sister” book or giving them a cute shirt to wear.

Telling them with a baby doll or other toy they are interested in can help them understand as well.

Creating a custom Big Sister/Brother book together and showing them how great it is to be a big brother! Reading it as a family can generate excitement (and lots of questions)!

You can take them to your ultrasound appointment or show them the photo and ask them to visualize what the photo represents.

Watching a baby movie like, Storks, Boss Baby and so many more.

A more exciting way might be to complete what is called, a “Baby order“form. It’s a fun way to get your child more involved, understand better, and build that excitement! It’s also a free download.
