13 Signs Of Biliary Insufficiency Syndrome

Do you have chronic and bothersome low-grade symptoms that keep you from feeling better?

Bile deficiency syndrome results in slow drainage of toxins from your liver along with chronic digestive problems and many other unpleasant health symptoms.

Signs of poor bile flow

The most common signs of biliary insufficiency syndrome are:

  • chronic constipation
  • low energy
  • varicose veins
  • skin problems
  • light-colored stools
  • itch
  • persistent gut issues (SIBO, bloating, food sensitivities, etc.)
  • frequent nausea
  • blood pressure issues
  • difficulty digesting fats
  • pain under the right side of the chest
  • chronic fatigue
  • weight gain

This is usually when someone will show up at the doctor’s office to try to resolve these symptoms, only to be offered Rx drugs and/or supplements that often only act as a bandaid while making the underlying problem worse.

Poor bile flow is usually a result of the body it doesn’t have the nutrients or “raw materials” it needs to produce more bile, excessive toxicity that makes bile flow thick and slow, a problem with the bile ducts themselves (ie, cholestatic obstruction), or emotional problems that cause nervous system disturbances (like sympathetic nervous system dominance).

How bile is supposed to work

Your liver-gallbladder axis is like your body’s garbage disposal.

When it works right, you feel your best.

However, when there is a blockage in the system, your body struggles to do its normal daily work and remove the day’s waste.

That’s because it’s overwhelmed with too much hard work (being fed stuff that makes it work overtime decade after decade), gets sluggish, and can’t clear things out of your body as fast.

You see, your liver produces bilea fluid that helps carry toxins from your liver out of your body through your stool.

What kinds of things does your body need to get rid of on a regular basis?

  • metabolic waste (from normal bodily function)
  • toxins
  • used hormones (especially around ovulation and right before your period)
  • heavy metals
  • excess nutrients (especially fat-soluble vitamins, from too much “healthy eating” and supplements)
  • drugs, supplements, hormone replacement therapy
  • pesticides, herbicides
  • and all the other things you are constantly bombarded with in modern life

When the flow of bile is insufficient, or becomes very thick and sluggish, it’s like a slow-drip trickle against a healthy flow of fluid that helps flush waste out of your system. This results in reduced toxin excretion, encouraging toxic build-up over time.

This also means that it is not enough bile to stimulate peristalsis (think lack of movement in your digestive tract – hello constipation!) to lubricate your digestive tract tubes so you can “go” to the toilet easily and prevent bacterial overgrowth in your gut (hello your SIBO)!

This is why so many people are bloated, constipated, tired and can’t lose weight.

Poor bile flow and weight gain

Dissolution it’s the solution to pollutionmeaning that extra fat can help dilute a toxic load that makes your body feel more “safe”. This is the same as if you have something toxic in your water and you want to reduce the amount, you will simply dilute it by adding more water.

When wastes stop being efficiently removed, your body goes into accumulation versus elimination mode. allowing more toxic substance to accumulate (read: weight gain). You are now accumulating toxins and excess nutrients faster than you can get rid of them.

Checking for poor bile flow and how to fix it

To support better bile production and flow, you need to identify the imbalances that contribute to it.

The main nutrients to be assessed through testing are: plasma zinc (blood), serum copper (blood), iron (blood), vitamin A (blood), and selenium (hair analysis).

For my clients, this test is easily completed with one Hair Analysis and Blood Labs Packageand it is standard testing in my 1-1 programs.
