Share some thoughts on why you might still be inflamed, even if you do all the things.
Hello friends! what are you doing I hope your morning is going well. I have a podcast interview, a dentist appointment and a discovery call this afternoon for a potential new client.
Today, I wanted to talk about a hot topic. This has come up a lot in DMs, with clients, and even in conversations with friends:
“I feel like I’m doing everything right… why do I still feel inflamed?”
And I understand, because I’ve been there too. And honestly I was there very recently too, and it’s annoying lol.
You eat clean, you exercise, you take your supplements, you try to stay on top of everything… and your body still feels sluggish. Maybe it’s bloating, low energy, persistent weight, or just that general “blah” feeling that you can’t quite explain.
It’s frustrating, especially when you put in so much effort.
Here are some of the things that could be happening: (of course, if you ever feel it, talk to your doctor)

Why You’re Still Inflamed Despite “Doing Everything Right”
1. You’re overeating (even if you’re eating “healthy”)
This is so common, especially for women who are motivated and disciplined.
Eat clean, whole foods, but not enough.
When your body doesn’t get enough fuel, it perceives it as stress. And what happens under stress?
– Cortisol rises
– Blood sugar becomes unstable
– Inflammation increases
Your body shifts into survival mode, not healing mode.
Signs it could be you:
You feel tired and fatigued
You are hungry at night
Your workouts are harder than they should be
You don’t see results despite consistency
Sometimes the most healing thing you can do is eat more food.
2. You over-train (and under-recover)
More is not always better.
If you’re piling intense workouts (HIIT, long cardio, bootcamps) on top of an already busy, stressful life, your body may not be able to keep up.
Exercise is a stressor. A good one; but remains a stressor.
Without proper rehabilitation, it can lead to:
Chronic inflammation
Hormonal imbalances
Fatigue and exhaustion
Increased craving
This doesn’t mean you should stop working out.
It simply means that your body may be asking for:
More strength training
More rest days
More low-impact movement (walking, yoga, barre)
Sometimes calling back actually works better.

3. Your detoxification pathways are sluggish
Your body is constantly working to eliminate toxins through:
Liver
Intestine
Kidneys
Lymphatic system
Skin
If these pathways are not supported, toxins can recirculate instead of being eliminated.
This can appear as:
Inflation
Skin problems
Hormonal imbalances
Feeling inflamed or “toxic”
This is where fundamental support is so important:
Hydration
Fiber
Minerals
Sweating
Tools I personally love for this:
A good one magnesium supplement (supports detoxification + relaxation)
Daily minerals/electrolytes (huge for cellular function). I get Zero Lyte from Thrive Market
Sauna sessions (sweating is one of the most underrated detox tools). Use FITNESSISTA15
Red light therapy (supports cellular repair + inflammation). FITNESSISTA offers you a huge discount.
I love it too EquiLife Detox and do this quarterly.
4. Your stress load is just… high
This is what no one wants to hear, but it’s often the biggest part.
Even if everything looks “healthy” on paper, your body only cares about one thing: safety. Your body needs to feel safe to do the things you need (and want) to do.
Stress is not only emotional.
It can come from:
Busy schedules
Lack of sleep
Blood sugar changes
Excessive exercise
Appetite
Processed foods and sugar
Environmental toxins
When stress is high, your body prioritizes survival. not fat loss, hormone balance or optimal digestion.
This is why things like:
Nervous system support
Quality sleep
Limits
Simple everyday rhythms
it can make a bigger difference than another supplement.
5. You’re missing the root cause
This is where I see so many women spinning their wheels.
They are doing all the right things, but they are guessing. They also take a billion supplements they saw on Instagram without testing.
Without testing, you may be missing:
Mineral imbalances
Bowel dysfunction
Detoxification ineffectiveness
Hormonal imbalances
And when you don’t know the root cause, it’s easy:
Super supplement
Follow random protocols
Waste of time and money
This is exactly why I’m such a big fan of functional testing – it takes the guesswork out and gives you a clear plan.
So… What should you do next?
If you’re reading this and thinking, “okay, that’s me…” this is a friendly reminder that you’re not alone and you’re not doing anything wrong. Your body just needs the right data and support.
Start here:
Make sure you eat enough (especially protein + carbs)
Take a look at your training + recovery intensity
Support your detoxification pathways in simple, consistent ways
Prioritize sleep and regulating the nervous system
From there, you can get more strategic.
If you want support
If you’re tired of guessing and want a custom design, I have a few options:
– EquiLife Detox – a great starting point if you want to support your body’s natural detoxification pathways in a structured, achievable way
– 1:1 Coaching (Healing Code) – for deeper support, testing and a fully customized plan
Or just reply to this post and tell me what’s up. I read every message and am always happy to point you in the right direction.
