adidas has revealed a range of new footwear models and colorways across the comfort-based Supernova range and the speed-focused Adizero range.

In the Supernova series is the Supernova Rise 3, while the Adizero series debuts the color update of the Adizero Adios Pro 4 and Adizero Boston 13.

Enhanced comfort

It was created to provide even more comfort from its award-winning predecessor, the Supernova Rise 3 debuts a redesigned full-length Dreamstrike+ midsole that’s 5% lighter and 20% softer (than the previous model), designed to deliver improved mileage comfort and support.

The Supernova Rise 3 also features a midsole with 16% more foam than the Rise 2 to maximize shock absorption for a distraction-free run, along with other features:

  • NEW PRIMEWEAVE UPPER: Designed for a secure and adaptive fit
  • LIGHTTRAXION OUTSOLE: Anatomical rod-like sculpting for smoother transitions and durable grip
  • DESIGNED FOR WOMEN: Available in men’s and women’s versions, rigorously tested for gender equality. The women’s version features an adjusted arch position to better match the latter, which has been developed to better suit the biomechanical needs of women with their average foot shape. The women’s version also features a specific outsole, improved heel and an upgraded special women’s sock.

The Supernova Rise 3 will be released in a Lucid Coral/Clear Orange shade, available online at adidas.co.za via the adidas app and at select retailers. Additional colors will be released in early 2026.

Made for fast runners

Also released are striking new colorways of the Adizero Adios Pro 4 and Adizero Boston 13, drawing inspiration from the iconic Adizero Adios shoe worn by Haile Gebrselassie during his world record breaking run at the 2008 Berlin Marathon.

Built for fast runners, the Adizero Adios Pro 4 features:

  • LIGHTSTRIKE PRO: A full-length layer of adidas’ best-in-class foam provides cushioning for every quick stride
  • ENERGY RODS 2.0: Provide a seamless transition from heel to toe
  • NEW FOREFOOT ROCKER POINT GEOMETRY: Inspired by the revolutionary Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, the forefoot rocker – the point at which the sole curves upwards under the toes or forefoot – is positioned at 60% of the shoe’s length. This is lab-tested to enable forward thrust and improve running economy
  • LIGHTTRAXION OUTSOLE: After studying the strike patterns of some of adidas’ top athletes to understand where they needed the most traction, this information was translated into a new patterned outsole that maps material to key areas
  • UPPER WITH PHOTO LOCK: The shoe introduces a first-of-its-kind lightweight, one-way stretch mesh upper combined with internal locking straps for a comfortable and secure feel when running at high speed. This is combined with a new lacing system, which provides a locked-in fit for runners

Designed to provide consistent speed for fast workouts and tempo runs, the Adizero Boston 13 is the perfect training companion for those competing in the Adizero Adios Pro 4. It features:

  • INCREASED LIGHTSTRIKE PRO: 13.8% more Lightstrike Pro foam makes the midsole softer and more comfortable than its predecessor
  • LIGHTTRAXION OUTSOLE: New to the Adizero Boston models – and first seen on the Adizero Adios Pro 4 Marathon Race – the LIGHTTRAXION patterned outsole construction is designed to reduce weight without sacrificing grip, strategically placing it where it’s needed most
  • ENERGY RODS 2.0: Redesigned energy rods provide forefoot economy performance and dynamic stability, now more prominent for a race look in a training shoe
  • ENGINEERED MESH: Revamped mesh upper offers lightweight breathability and targeted support in a sleek silhouette

The SS26 Adizero Boston 13 and Adios Pro 4 in solar yellow will cost R3,299 and R5,499 respectively, available in stores on adidas.co.za and through adidas’ flagship app.
