If you’re new to natural deodorants – welcome! Pull up a chair, take a deep breath (preferably a fresh one) and let’s talk about something we get asked all the time:

“How exactly am I going to use Woohoo… and what about the daily wash and reapply routine?”

You are not alone. When you switch to a natural deodorant that actually works (hi, that’s us 👋), there’s a bit of technique involved. Nothing dramatic – think of it as learning the difference between “washing your face” and “removing your makeup properly.” Same person, different result.

And since we’ve welcomed loads of new Woohoo-ers recently (we’re so lucky to have you), we’ve also seen a few questions pop up about clogged pores, sensitivities and product build-up. So we thought:

Let’s give you the nitty gritty, minus the nit-picking.

Because Woohoo works best when worn during the day – not at night

Can you wear Woohoo 24/7?
Technically, yes. She is a hard worker.

But should it?
So… would you sleep with your makeup on every night? Even the natural kind?

Woohoo creates an ultra thin natural layer – that’s what it’s all about. It sits on top of your skin, helping to keep moisture in check and keeping bacteria (aka pong makers) at bay. But like all good things, it’s happiest when it takes a break.

Our proposal:

  • Wear Woohoo during the day
  • Wash it off before bed
  • Let your skin breathe all night

Once you become a regular Woohoo-er, you may find that the freshness carries over into the next morning (we hear this all the time).

If things feel a bit “stuck”, don’t worry – a proper wash (or the occasional deep cleanse with the Detox Underarm Clay Mask) will usually set everything right back.

The magic step most people skip: Rinse it properly

This is where the “clogged resource” conversation comes in.

Woohoo is a natural product. It doesn’t evaporate or disappear – it just sits on top and does its job like a tiny bodyguard.

So at the end of the day, think of removal like removing sunscreen or foundation: it takes proper cleansing.

The best way to remove Woohoo:

  • Hot water
  • Wash with soap
  • A washing machine or cloth
  • A gentle rub (not hard – just enough to lift the mattress)

If you skip this step too often, the product can start to build up.

Creation then creates a barrier. Barrier prevents the deodorant from doing its job. Voilà – freshness failure, even though the product has not changed.

A good wash fixes almost everything.

And if your pits need a little extra TLC

Sometimes a proper wash just isn’t enough – especially if you wear deodorant all day, every day. That’s where a deep cleansing clay mask can help. It works like a reset button by removing oil, sweat residue and old product so your skin feels fresh and ready for a new day Woohoo.

No drama – just a really good clean.

A quick word about shaving, waxing and other pit adventures

Hair removal is… well… a team sport between you and your skin. And sometimes your skin needs a moment on the counter.

Shaving and waxing can create tiny micro-irritations – even if you can’t see them. This means your skin’s natural barrier feels a bit exposed.

For some people, applying deodorant right after is perfectly fine. For others, it’s spicy (not ideal).

Our kind suggestion:

  • If your pits feel tender, give them a night off.
  • Instead, do your Woohoo the next morning.
  • Listen to your body – it’s pretty smart.

Why this matters (and why we’re talking about it now)

We’ve had a wave of new Woohoo-ers recently (hello again 👋). And with newcomers come some “Wait… is this normal?” moments.

Blocked resources?
Irritation after shaving?
Woohoo suddenly not working?

Most of the time, if something feels a little “empty” it’s just your skin letting you know it needs a little change – things like washing properly at the end of the day, waiting after shaving, or deep cleaning your pits or clothes every now and then.

Woohoo is designed to work with your skin and small adjustments often make a big difference.

And of course, if your pits still feel confusing, we’re always here to help you figure it out.

FAQ: Natural Deo for Real People

Should I wash off Woohoo at night?

No rules, just good skin feel. Your pits will be happier in the long run if you give them a breather during the night.

What happens if I don’t wash it off?

Over time, the product can build up and stop performing as well. A good warm soapy wash takes care of it.

Can Woohoo block resources?

Not by itself – but any product can cause problems if put on daily without washing. Proper cleaning usually keeps everyone happy.

Can I apply Woohoo immediately after shaving or waxing?

If your skin feels good, go for it. If your pits feel a little raw or tingly, wait until the next morning.

Which Woohoo is best for sensitive pits?

If you’re freshly shaven or prone to irritation, many people love our milder carb-free options. Mellow is a favorite because it is also fragrance free.

Is product stacking the same as the “detox” people talk about?

Not exactly. When people say “detox,” they’re usually talking about deep cleansing their underarms—like using a clay mask to remove old deodorant, oils, and sweat residue.

Your body isn’t detoxifying anything internally – it’s just resurfacing so your natural deodorant can do its best work.
