Chiara Ceseri B-Girl SpiderGirl, is a member of the Italian breaking team. You’ll find her moving around on stage or on Instagram, sharing her love for the break. She is the winner of the Winner 1VS1 B-Girl Championship.

She is a breakdancer, confirmed as Italian champion of the category at the Italian Fidesm Championship in Rimini in the 16-18 age category. A new important result for the young athlete from Pontassieve, who again in July was awarded at the Salone d’onore del Coni in Rome by Federal President Laura Lunetta and CONI President Giovanni Malagò during the 2024 champions award ceremony.

Breakdance will be an Olympic sport for the first time this year. Chiara was also selected by the Italian federation to participate in the selections for the Olympic Games. After a series of tests held around the world over the past 2 years, including the final stages in Shanghai and Budapest, she narrowly missed out on qualifying for the world championships in Paris, finishing 12th in the world rankings compared to the top 10 places that guaranteed passage to the Olympics.

The municipal administration congratulates her on this sporting achievement, a source of pride for the entire Valdisieve community.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar meets Chiara Ceseri B-Girl SpiderGirl – an extremely talented and accomplished Italian Breaking Dancer. Here she talks about her fitness, diet, hair care, skincare routine and success story.

Namita Nayar:

Where were you born and educated? Breakdancing or breaking, also called b-girling (women), is a street dance style originating from African Americans and Puerto Ricans in the Bronx. Breaking is the only new sport in the 2024 Paris Olympics. At what age did you start breakdancing and tell us about your journey up to the Italian Breaking team? This later propelled your career to the height where you were a top Break dancer, now 16th in Youth, 19th in Senior and 33rd in Olympic Qualifier. Tell us more about your professional journey of extraordinary hard work, perseverance and endurance?

Chiara Ceseri:

I was born in Italy in 2007 and today I am 17 years old. I started breaking when I was 7 years old. At first I took it as a hobby, I did one hour every week and it was just for fun. I soon started to enjoy it more and trained harder and harder. I won the first battles in 2016 and went to the first Italian championship in 2018. I reached the first place in my 8-11 year old category. Little by little people started to know me and the first invitations for the battles arrived. I reaffirm myself Italian champion of my category from 2018 to 2024.

At a battle in Pisa I was spotted by a French coach and joined a French crew called Flow Killerz. And I started being called to some battle in Europe. But the European Championship in Manchester in November 2022 was the battle that changed everything. I went there only with my father and got to 7th place. The federation noticed me and invited me to be part of the Italian breaking team that would take part in the Olympic qualifiers. From that moment it was like a dream, being sixteen years old and being able to dance on a big stage like that was surreal. I had a really good trip and I’m proud of myself for everything. Even though I didn’t qualify for the Olympics for only two places, I’m very happy about everything. I am now motivated to achieve more and become better.

Namita Nayar:

While performing Breakdancing consists primarily of four types of movement—top rock, down rock, power moves, and frees—and is usually set to songs that contain drum breaks, especially in funk, soul, and hip-hop, it’s all about finding a balance between showing potential and creating an exciting performance. Am I editing?

Chiara Ceseri:

Dancing breaking is about showing yourself and performing the music. It’s about mixing all the elements, but it’s important to always be on the beat.

Namita Nayar:

What event in your breakdancing journey acted as a catalyst for your native rise as a top Italian Break Dancer?

Chiara Ceseri:

I think the event that caught my attention was the European Championships and then the Olympic Qualifiers in Shanghai and Budapest where I finished 12th. I went there with no expectations and placed myself in good positions. People started noticing me, getting to know me and my name started getting around.

Namita Nayar:

You had an unforgettable sports participation with your performance as the winner of 1VS1 B-Girl. Tell us about your experience at this women’s competition and what you learned here to further your break dancing career.

Chiara Ceseri:

I won many battles around the world, competing against the very strong Bgirl gave me a lot of motivation. Of course winning battles gives you more confidence and power and you just want to fight again and again. The hard part is when you lose and you have to go back to work, but I think that’s what helped me improve my dancing the most. When I go into a fight my goal is to win it but have fun, otherwise for me it’s like I’ve lost it.
