Let’s be honest, the question isn’t really about it thicknessis it? When you talk about Super Ultra-Thin Condoms, what you’re really asking is: can I feel better? and adequate protection against pregnancy and STDs at the same time? The answer is Yes. And no, we’re not just saying that because we’ve just introduced our thinnest HANX condom. Thinking of trying Super Ultra-Thin? Here’s everything you need to know about the safety of HANX condoms…

Science of condoms

It may sound fantastic, but ultra-thin condoms are reliable because of the innovation of the materials, not magic. Modern latex and non-latex alternatives have been refined to the point where you can reduce the thickness without compromising on strength. Our standard HANX condoms are 0.055mm to 0.065mm thick (about the same as a single pubic hair). They quickly became a huge bestseller, and over the years, we’ve heard from our community that they’d like us to combine the peace of HANX – even more sense. So just this fall, we created our new improved Super Ultra-Thin Condom 0.045 to 0.055 mm thickness. The result? Both you and your partner benefit from increased sensitivity and a more natural feel. Most importantly, it’s still powerful enough to do the job it’s meant to do.

The real idea here is that thinner does not equal weaker. Our high quality, Super Ultra-Thin condom undergoes the same rigorous testing as our standard johnnies and any other legal contraceptive here in the UK. We’re talking puncture resistance, burst pressure, lots of it. Like our standard condoms, Super Ultra-Thin is CE certified, which means it meets European Union safety, health and environmental standards. This is really important as it is a legal requirement for products sold in the European Economic Area (EEA). Regulators don’t care about your health, well-being and safety – and neither do we.

What really matters about security

If you’re considering whether Super Ultra-Thin condoms are safe for you, here’s what you really need to consider:

Correct use it’s everything. The condom should always be properly fitted, with no air trapped in the tip, and worn throughout penetration. Trust us, the world’s most high-tech condom won’t do you any good if it slips halfway through.

The right application it also makes a real difference. A condom that is too loose or too tight is more likely to fail than one that fits properly. In fact, finding your fit is more important than the thickness of the latex. If you need to go up a size, the Large condom may be better for you or your partner.

Expiry dates they are non-negotiable. Condoms are medical devices and should be treated as such. Check for visible damage to the film packaging before use, store them properly in their outer packaging or tin (not loosely in your bag, back pocket or purse for eight months), and always check the expiration date.

The Sensation Thing

It’s not just about protection. Sex is supposed to be pleasurable, and thinner condoms can mean more direct contact and frankly, more pleasure for both partners. With insights from our co-founder and gynecology expert, Dr Sarah Welsh, we designed our condoms with silky smooth latex and zero irritants to make HANX condoms as enjoyable as possible. Our Super Ultra-Thin condoms remove even more barriers between sensation and intimacy. Hey, if you’re using barrier contraception, you shouldn’t feel like you’re wearing a thick rubber raincoat from 1987…

The bottom line

Are HANX Super Ultra-Thin condoms safe? Yes. They are tested, tested and meet the mandatory regulations for CE certifications required as a medical device. Don’t see this mark on your current mystery condoms? It’s time to make the switch to HANX.

Remember that safety does not depend only on product certification. It’s about making sure you use condoms consistently, correctly and confidently. A Super Ultra-Thin Condom is only as safe as your commitment to putting it on correctly and keeping it on throughout.
