Before you start reading, think of this friendly/no-so much friendly warning This article can cause mild discomfort, spontaneous defense or sudden push to “accidentally” close this page. If you are allergic to calling, now is your opportunity to guarantee.

Original source: here.

Why? Because we are going to talk about the most popular sport in the world: it comes with excuses to avoid exercise. And yes I mean excuses – No reasons. Some of them, you might think so strongly that you could win an Oscar for your performance. Others you probably know are lies, but keep saying to yourself anyway.

This is self-shaking in elastic pants. It can come from the fear of failure, fear of success, fear of hard work … or just fear of sweat.

But don’t sign up for this newsletter to tell you, “You’re perfect, never change.” You are registered because you want honesty and accountability, even if it comes with a little bit of sting.

When I am face to face with a person I have a filter, so I will say what is kind. But sometimes, what I say and what I think may not fit. Since I am not talking to any person in this article, you will receive the “Igor Uncensored” version of what really It continues in my mind.

Are you ready to be offended gently and hope they are having fun? Let’s start.

I will exercise when the weather is better

Yes, “Mother Nature will not leave me”

First of all, exercise is not optional. Is not dependent on the weather. Here is a revolutionary idea: You can practice indoors. And no, gardening is not an exercise. Motion – yes. Exercise – no.

But it’s very hot, very cold, very nice – I know, I know. You try extremely hard to find reasons to avoid exercise. And it works. Unless the sky itself gives you a persistent cheer, you stay.

Again, simple solution – internal exercise. Find a gym near you. Set up a gym in your home, so you don’t even have to leave home. If you live in a Condo, you already have a Condo gym.

There are There is no reason to connect the exercise to the weather. Certainly, some forms of exercise are out of bounds because of the weather. You may not go for a jog outdoors when there is ice on the ground, and you may not go for swimming when the lake is frozen. But you can definitely go for a jog indoors, and a swimming pool.

“But crap in driving in the winter.” Agree. But you are still driving to get your groceries, your doctor and maybe your family and friends. Why not the gym? In addition, from our bad Canadian winters, from 4 months, how many days are really so bad that driving is not great? The roads are cleared and salted within a few hours. There is only a handful of snowstorm every winter so bad that the snowstorms cannot keep up. And you know it.

Embrace the revolutionary idea of internal exercise. Your body will thank you.

I am anxious, I cannot exercise

If you are anxious, you have my sympathy. Not. Stress is not paralyzed. If you are paralyzed, you really can’t exercise. If you are anxious, You don’t want to exercise. Or you will not exercise. But let’s not use the word “can’t” when the real words are “don’t want” or “won’t”.

In addition, stress is more a reason for exercise, because exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Avoiding exercise due to stress means avoiding a solution to your problem. It’s like denying an umbrella because it’s raining.

If you want to know some stress management strategies in addition to exercise, I wrote an article about it here.

I will exercise when I retire

Translation: “I will wait until I am older, slower and tougher, and then I will make my body do new things.”

I hear this occasionally and think about ”Until then, will you let your body continue to worsen?“But I’m not saying that.

Hmmm…. I think I have to have a demonstration where people hear what kindly comes out of my mouth, along with the subtitles of what I really believe.

Let’s do some simple maths.

There are 168 hours a week. Most people work 40 hours a week. Let us also assume that someone is moving to work, so we will add 10 hours to be generous. People sleep (hope) 8 hours a day. After work, commute and sleep, still leaving 62 hours per week. Can anyone really find 2-3 hours from the remaining 62 for exercise?

We have clients who take care of sick spouses or parents who still spend time with exercise.

My dad worked 50-60 hours a week until she was 72 years old and managed to exercise 6 days a week, 2-2.5 hours a day. Now that he has retired, he is continuing this routine.

Is very much Better to exercise once a week than not at all. After a year, you will have 52 hours of exercise (assuming that each workout is an hour). Maybe this will keep at least your current shape. But it is better than letting it continue to worsen with age.

Finally, you reach your retirement and blame your age to be out of shape, with pain, medicines, etc. when really, Priorities must be blamed – not age. You didn’t prioritize exercise and now you pay the price.

In this regard, most of our clients are over 50 (and some over 80) – many of the things that people attribute to age (such as fat profit, loss of power, joint pain, poor health, low energy, etc.), are able to prevent or reversed. So is it really the age accused, or the choices we make? Yes, age plays a role, but the choices we also make play a role – a big one.

If you are not yet retired, start exercising now. Your body will thank you both now and later.

I am very busy

Yes, the champion of all time of excuses. “Too Busy” has won gold medals in avoiding the dawn of the calendars.

This is in line with “I will exercise when I retire”. First of all, I have to question the priorities of a person who says they are very busy. What is more important than one’s health;

Secondly, you can voluntarily spend time for your health now (ie exercise) or fill with all sorts of health problems later in your life and have to spend time from your program to go to doctors, experts, workshops and so on.

Exercise now saves you a lot of time later in your life. I am sure you would rather travel, be voluntarily, be social and play with your grandkids rather than sitting in a doctor’s office or workshop.

In this case, our client, Cliff is a busy guy. She conducts multiple veterinary clinics, returns a rescue documentary and has a husband and 4 children. He still manages to find time to exercise 4-6 days a week.

Craig also manages his own business (painting) and works more than the standard 40 hours a week. Still manages to exercise 2-3 days a week.

Miriam Works 4 Jobs, has a wife and a noisy 3-year-old-and finds time for exercise.

I travel a lot

Many of our customers travel a lot, be it work or leisure. But they still manage to exercise. You can exercise anywhere – at home, in third world countries, anywhere. My wife and I recently went to Switzerland, and despite being on vacation, I got a gym for the duration of my vacation.

Many hotels these days have gyms. If they don’t, just bring resistor zones – The most versatile piece of equipment. Very lightweight and very durable.

It’s not like practicing while you are home but go away and push “pause” on your progress. May “cease” in your mind but Your body is actively losing the progress you have made while practicing. Do you know this is said? Alteration.

And if you use the trip as an excuse to prevent you from getting started, you know it’s an excuse, isn’t it? There is only one bad time to start – tomorrow.

One of our customers sells mutual risk funds to live, so it’s out of the country 160 days of the year – and still manages to find time for exercise. Yes, we adjust its routine based on the availability of time and equipment, but it continues to exercise while it is away.

Be injured

An injury is not a magical field of power that covers your entire body. If you break your hand, your legs are still working. If you pull a hamstring you still have a trunk. You can work your body parts that were not injured. Revolutionary, I know.

In addition, if you have a sufficient personal trainer (as maybe My staff members), they will not only avoid injury, but will actively improve it.

In order, Julie came to us for weight loss and lowering blood pressure, but by the way she had back pain. Did not say “I will wait for the pain in the lower back to improve before exercising.” On the contrary, he said that “exercise (the right way) will improve my back pain.”

Carol had almost any joint pain in her body and was even scheduled for knee replacement surgery, but that did not prevent her from practicing. That was why he began to exercise.

Heck, I even wrote an article on the 5 Rapid Rehab commands. Exercise does not need to be something that breaks your body. You can use it as a tool to create it and actively recover from injuries.

Walk

We have many readers who record very good steps-from 8,000-12,000 steps a day. And yet, they still do not achieve their fitness goals – fat loss, chronic improvements (such as osteoporosis, high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, etc.), stimulation, etc.

Why not? Because as I mentioned in previous articles, walking is not an exercise. Well done; Yes. Move; Yes. Activity; Yes. Exercise – no.

So If you are walking (even walking a lot) but you don’t achieve your goals, you don’t exercise. We are moving.

Have I encountered the most common excuses to avoid exercise? Do you need help to break your psychological or natural obstacles? Are you ready to get out of your way? My team and I can help. Just fill in the application form Our homepageAnd we will see if our services are for you. Just fill in the form does not oblige you to anything. It just creates a quick 10-15 minute conversation where we learn about your situation and see if we can help or not. There is no pressure and no tar.
