The landscape of postagonal and microbial research is evolving at speeds speed. As sequence technologies improve and demand for high resolution, microbial data without prejudice is increasing, congestion is shifted from its sequence to the quality of the sample preparation. At the center of this transformation is the IconPCR – a new heat -rapid platform that is quickly becoming essential for researchers seeking to promote the limits of what is possible in the microbial profile.

The challenge: PCR as a restrictive factor

For years, the conventional PCR has been both an axis of work and a weak link to the germ work flows. PCR constant cycle methods often force scientists in a game of guess: very few cycles and risk samples of abandonment. Too many and introduce chimeric, bias and lost sequence capacity. The result? Data commercial quality, lost diversity and steps of normalization with work intensity that slows down the discovery.

PCR, in a way, is your enemy. The more circles you do, everything gets worse. ICONPCR for us is really a mechanism to limit the number of PCR cycles and limit the damage you do by enhancing the molecules of your standard. ”

Dr. Stefan Green, Director of Core Genomics, Rush University

The solution: ICONPCR’s Autonorm™ technology

ICONPCR, developed by N6, introduces a fundamentally new approach: by source, real -time monitoring and adaptive cycling. Autonorm technology monitors the reinforcement in every well and automatically terminates the PCR at the optimum spot, eliminating the speculations and consequences of the lots of traditional work flows.

In a recent application note co -exists with Pacbio, the integration of the ICONPCR with the long reading sequence of Pacbio unlocks a new standard in the microbial profile. Compared to conventional PCR, ICONPCR was delivered:

  • Zero Himi in all samples
  • Up to 10x Most unique variants of ASVS sequence
  • Significantly higher diversity alpha (Chao1, Shannon, Simpson markers)
  • Enhanced detection of rare and previously undetectable taxonomic
  • 40-60% reduction of time and lower-costing practical time

The result is not only better data, but also an improved work flow that saves time, reduces consumable use and minimizes the risk of failed libraries.

Enable New Science: From ground to spacecraft

The advantages of ICONPCR extend far beyond the theoretical improvements-already allow science to repeat in various applications, from environmental microbial to the most difficult samples of extremely low biomass biomass.

Dr. Eric Chow, Director of the UCSF Advanced Technology Center, highlights the practical transformation for high performance core installations:

“With ICONPCR, each sample in a PCR cycle. We can simply use a pipette … or, if you are okay with samples in doubles each other, you can draw an equal volume with a multi -channel dish on a 96 -plate of 96 wells and this is extremely fast and easy.

For the team of Dr. Chow, ICONPCR has eliminated the need for post -PCR quantification and painful smoothing, while rescuing valuable samples that could otherwise fail:

“Restructuring samples that are leaving is expensive … with ICONPCR, avoid this issue of a sample rejection. If you work with valuable samples, knowing that you will get enough library at a time is also reassuring and a great benefit.”

Dr. Stefan Green of Rush University is pushing the limits of what is possible with extremely low input samples, especially in NASA’s space vehicles. Work with pure space samples containing only Picogram or DNA femtogram levels, its laboratory has demonstrated the capacity of ICONPCR to successfully enhance libraries from incredible provocative samples:

“We were able to use a false community in 500 Femtogram input, AMPED with ICONPCR, and even capable of recovering all 10 organizations in the false community.

In studies with Pacbio’s Sequel II platform, libraries prepared by ICONPCR from soil microbes have revealed richer, more precise profile, detection of basic microbial classes lost by the typical PCR. The same principles that allow these environmental discoveries are now applied to the entire clinical postagonal, large -scale environmental research and even the most extreme low -end applications such as any field of NASA’s life.

Industry Cooperation: SEQCenter full length service

The IconPCR transformative potential has gained recognition throughout the industry. Seqcenter, a leading next -generation sequence provider, recently announced their new 16S full -length sequence service to the ASM Microbe 2025 in conjunction with the PacBio sequence platform. This partnership represents a significant validation of ICONPCR’s potential for the provision of higher effects of microbial profiles.

The full SEQCenter 16S service provides high-precision readings that cover the entire 1,500 BP 16S gene (V1-V9 areas), providing significantly enhanced taxonomic resolution compared to traditional short-circuit methods focused on one or two superlative areas. With the integration of ICONPCR’s Autonorm technology, the service ensures optimal reinforcement for each sample, eliminating excessive reinforcement objects and under -representation issues that have historically plagued 16s.

Strategic Cooperation: Zymo Research Cooperation

The IconPCR impact is further validated through a strategic collaboration with Zymo Research, a world -renowned leader in molecular tools for life sciences. This collaboration combines standard ZYMO Research Zymobiomics work flows with N6 PCR technology to treat common pains in the preparation and enhancement of the library for more reliable microbialicide sequence data.

The corporate relationship demonstrates the way in which the combination of Zymo Research’s expertise in DNA extraction and the preparation of the 16S full length of the ICONPCR Autonorm technology creates a transformative approach that reduces the rates of chimera and improves the removal of the PCR. This validation by a leader in the industry with over 30 years of experience further underlines the role of ICONPCR as a critical factor in researching next generation microbial research.

For researchers who are interested in learning more about this powerful combination, Zymo Research and N6 host an upcoming webinar entitled “Promotion of Long Reading 16s RRNA Metagenomics: On July 24, 2025. This training session will show optimal practices to integrate these proven technologies to enhance the effectiveness of work flow and sequence reproduceness.

A platform for the future of germ research

As NGS is becoming increasingly accessible and the sample number scale in thousands, the need for strong, automated and free library preparation is only increased. The unique approach of the IconPCR-now was ratified by the leading nuclei of the genomics and recognized as a Pacbio-compatible partner-as a crucial factor for the next era of microbial research and postagonal research.

The story emerging from the field is clear: turning PCR from a responsibility to a precision tool, the ICONPCR strengthens researchers to see deeper, discover more and accelerate the rate of microbial discovery.
