If you’re aiming for skin that radiates radiance without oil, getting your skincare routine in check is key. Oily skin can be tricky, especially when it comes to regulating sebum production and preventing shine. But with the right approach and targeted treatments, you can achieve a balanced, glowing appearance. As someone who has spent years helping people achieve their skin goals, I’m here to share my top recommendations for oily skin. These treatments and facials are designed to keep excess oil at bay, reduce congestion and bring out your skin’s natural glow.

Start with Clean Slate: Cleansing and Toning

For oily skin, cleansing is essential. You want to remove dirt, excess oil and buildup without stripping the skin. My main recommendation is to use a gentle foaming cleanser that cleans effectively without being too harsh. Look for ingredients like salicylic acid or tea tree oil, which help unclog pores and prevent breakouts. I always recommend following a toner balancer. A good toner helps refine pores and regulate oil production while also preparing the skin for the rest of your routine. Witch hazel, for example, is an excellent astringent that reduces excess oil without drying out the skin.

Exfoliation: An essential step for oily skin

Exfoliating is essential for oily skin as it helps remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. However, over-exfoliating can cause more oil production, so it’s important to find the right balance. I recommend using a mild exfoliator with ingredients like glycolic acid or lactic acid a few times a week. These alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) help dissolve dead skin cells and promote turnover, giving your skin a fresh, smooth appearance.

For a more intensive treatment, I recommend incorporating a professional facial exfoliation into your skincare routine. My Triple Crown Facial it is a customer favorite for oily skin. This signature treatment combines microdermabrasion, microcurrents and oxygen therapy to deeply cleanse, exfoliate and tighten skin, leaving it balanced, rejuvenated and radiant. Microdermabrasion works to remove dead skin cells, while oxygen infusion hydrates and revitalizes without clogging pores.

Facial masks for deep cleansing

One of my favorite ways to deal with oily skin is with a weekly deep cleansing face mask. Clay-based masks are particularly effective at removing impurities and absorbing excess oil. Look for ingredients like kaolin or bentonite clay, which help clear skin and prevent future breakouts. Another ingredient to watch out for is charcoal, which has detoxifying properties that work wonders for oily skin.

In my salons, I often use mine Exfoliating maskwhich combines kaolin clay with volcanic ash, lactic acid and fruit enzymes to create a powerful yet gentle exfoliating and cleansing treatment. This mask works to decongest the skin, reduce inflammation and balance oil production, making it ideal for those with oily and acne-prone skin.

Hydration: The right way for oily skin

Yes, even oily skin needs moisture! The key is to find a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer that hydrates without weighing you down or clogging your pores. Hyaluronic acid is a great ingredient for oily skin because it provides hydration without adding extra greasiness. It is important to maintain the skin’s moisture barrier, as dehydrated skin can lead to overproduction of oil to compensate.

My Daily Moisturizing Cream it is an ideal choice for those with oily skin. It’s made with lightweight, hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid and avocado oil that lock in moisture without contributing to shine. It is quickly absorbed and leaves the skin soft, balanced and perfectly hydrated.

Finish with a facial

For oily skin, targeted facial treatments can make all the difference. My LED Light Facial Therapy it is an incredible treatment for those dealing with oily skin and pimples. LED light kills acne-causing bacteria, reduces inflammation and regulates oil production, leaving your skin clearer and less prone to congestion. Incorporating professional treatments like this into your routine can help keep your skin in check, no matter how oily it may be.

Bottom line: Glowing, balanced skin is possible

With the right skincare routine and professional treatments, oily skin can be balanced and beautiful. From gentle cleansers and exfoliating treatments to deep-cleansing masks and lightweight moisturizers, the key is to focus on regulating sebum production and maintaining hydration. Don’t be afraid to indulge in professional facials to keep your skin looking its best, and remember that consistency is key. By following these expert tips, you can achieve the glowing, balanced skin you’ve always wanted.
