Make a difference
Giving to Woman’s supports your family, friends and neighbors. It means giving women and babies a chance at a healthy future. The Women’s Foundation is grateful for the support of many donors.
Anthony Evans
Anthony Evans, MD, PhD, medical director of gynecologic oncology at the Breast & GYN Cancer Pavilion, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive system. Dr. Evans is one of the few gynecologic oncologists in Louisiana. He returns to Woman’s to show his support and appreciation for the hospital’s commitment to excellence.
Dr. Evans says, “We have a dedicated and hardworking staff who are always friendly and always happy. Every day I have patients tell me how great their experience at Woman’s is, and people travel from all over Louisiana to be treated here.”

Chris Ciesielski, President, Foundation for Woman’s Board of Trustees
“I have volunteered at Woman’s and been a donor for about 15 years. Early on, I recognized that Woman’s was a special place and creates a special bond with employees, patients and the community at large. I quickly learned that Woman’s touches almost every family in our community in some way.
Although the Hospital touches so many families, many are unaware of all that Woman’s does “behind the scenes,” such as running mammography coaches, caring for victims of sexual assault, and providing human donor milk for vulnerable infants whose mothers cannot provide their own. . These are examples of programs not covered by insurance and for which Woman’s does not receive reimbursement. That’s why philanthropic support is so important and it’s an honor to support these efforts. For this reason, I am also proud to be a leading donor and corporate partner through my business, NFP Corporate Services (LA), Inc.
Today, I found additional dedication to the Woman’s cause through my late friend Amy Counce. Amy’s dedication to Woman’s began when she lost her sister to ovarian cancer. Sadly, many years later, Amy was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer and we lost her last year. I find extra energy and motivation to serve Woman’s from Amy’s spirit – I want to do everything I can to continue her fight.”
Capital One
For more than 21 years, Capital One has been instrumental in the fight against breast cancer through its support of Women’s Hospital.
Through Capital One’s support of the Woman’s Victory Open and BUST Breast Cancer events, they have been an important partner in our fight against cancer. Capital One’s continued support is helping Woman’s expand its reach with a second mammography coach, increasing our screening to more than 8,000 women annually.
“My wife and I welcomed two children into the world with the help of the staff at Women’s Hospital. The level of patient care provided at Woman’s is second to none. Every person who works at Woman’s, whether in administration or direct patient care, is constantly talking about how to make the patient experience even better. A patient first approach is the only way to keep focusing on the right things and improving. Capital One strives to support the communities where our customers and associates live, work and raise families. Our approach is to align with best-in-class organizations and provide funding and resources to enable those organizations to make an impact. Woman’s has been impacting Baton Rouge and beyond since 1968 and Capital One is proud to say it has been a supporter for more than 20 of those years. -David Mullens, Capital One, Baton Rouge Market President

United Health Foundation
A three-year, $1.2 million grant from the United Health Foundation enabled Woman’s to launch GRACE (Guiding Recovery And Creating Empowerment), a care management program for pregnant women who use opioids. Louisiana has one of the highest rates of opioid use in the country. Women participating in GRACE receive non-judgmental, compassionate care coordination from a team of social workers, nurses and doctors. Services include connecting to community resources to help with recovery, education about substance use and safer treatment options during pregnancy, and weekly support and encouragement. The goal of the program is simple: healthier moms and healthier newborns.
