These No-Bake Chocolate Peanut Butter Reindeer Cup Treats are sure to put a smile on your child’s face! It looks like you spent hours creating them, but they couldn’t be easier to put together (and they’re nutritious, too!)

For this nutritionist and mom of three, the holidays are a special time to get in the kitchen with my kids and create some holiday magic. These no-bake, quick and super easy, hearty and super delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Reindeers are our new favorite holiday themed snacks!

Holiday snacks are especially fun as the kids (and I!) love all the traditional sights like the light up houses, colorfully decorated trees and of course Santa’s reindeer! I love that the peanut butter and coconut flour in these Frozen Chocolate Reindeer Peanut Butter Cups add health-promoting protein, healthy fats, and fiber that make these snacks filling and delicious.

How to make these reindeer bowls

It only takes a few minutes to mix the mixture with the peanut butter and form it into triangles.

After a quick chill in the freezer (or even overnight if you want to surprise your kids the next day by dipping and decorating them together!), I brush them with melted chocolate.

Then I just pop the cute buns, sweet eyes and nose.

Back in the freezer for about half an hour or until we are ready to eat them. I expect it will be the after school snack of choice for December!

Why make these Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Reindeers?

No matter how much we love it, the holiday season is a busy and often hectic time for families, so any snack or dessert I make for the season needs to be quick and easy to make, fun and tasty, filling and to keep the belly fuller. more and a dish my whole family can make together that keeps well until we are ready to enjoy it. It’s a lot to ask, but these no-bake cups pass the test! I want to reduce stress and increase family time.

You can customize these snacks to make them suitable for your family. If you want it nut-free, just swap out the peanut butter for sunflower butter. it’s not as naturally sweet as nut butters, so you may want to add a little extra maple syrup to taste until it’s just the right sweetness for you. Are you a dark chocolate lover or do you prefer the taste of semi-sweet? Both taste decadent in these reindeer bowls!

Enjoy them anytime… as an afternoon or after-school snack, after or alongside December dinners, to refuel after a shopping spree (or a gift-wrapping session!), a lazy weekend day (there are really for us parents?!) or whenever you want. Whether you’re making them for yourself, your kids, or your guests, I hope they add flavor and whimsy to your holiday!

These fun and quick reindeer snacks are so easy to make and will become a seasonal favorite. They are best proven by using natural peanut butter with only peanuts, or peanuts and salt, on the label. You can make them nut-free by using sunflower seed butter and adding a little more syrup to taste. Store them in the freezer to keep for a quick and filling holiday snack or dessert.

Components

  • 1 cup natural peanut butter

  • 1/4-1/3 cup maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/2 cup coconut flour

  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons coconut oil

  • 16 mini-pretzels for horns

  • 16 sweet eyes

  • 8 candy noses

Instructions

  1. Line a pan with parchment.
  2. In a medium bowl, add the peanut butter, syrup, vanilla and salt and mix to combine. Now, add the coconut flour and mix until no dry flour remains.
  3. Form the mixture into 8 triangles, adding them to the lined pan, then transfer the pan to the freezer for about 30 minutes, until firm.
  4. In a shallow bowl, add the chocolate and coconut oil and melt in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring in between, until mostly melted. Stir until completely melted.
  5. Using a fork or pie knife, add a triangle to the bowl of melted chocolate and cover. Continue with the remaining triangles, returning them to the lined pan as you go. Add the horn, eyes and noses.
  6. Transfer the finished reindeer to the freezer and chill for at least 30 minutes. Let them soften for a few minutes at room temperature before eating.

Notes

Making sure your triangles are frozen solid before and during the dip is key!

If your chocolate hardens before you add the toppings, just use some melted chocolate to “glue” them together.

If you like, you can use a sharp knife to cut the melted chocolate along the sides of the triangles after they are frozen. I don’t do this often, I’ll take the extra chocolate!

I bought my candy eyes at Bulk Barn in Canada, they are also available at Michael’s Arts and Crafts stores.
