Diy Night Moisturizer | Easy Night Cream Recipe With Blue

This deep moisture night cream came out so nice and creamy. It’s packed with nutrients for your skin that can be applied at night before bed so you wake up with soft, silky skin. As the weather changes in temperature and humidity, skin can undergo changes, so I wanted to create a formula that would give it an extra boost of protection and moisture. I selected specific ingredients that would help maintain the skin’s moisture barrier and promote healing.

Here is a little more information about each of the ingredients in this recipe.

Raw shea butter is one of the key butters in this recipe, it’s creamy, pure and nourishing. We source this from a women’s cooperative in Ghana where the raw product is made from the nuts of the Shea tree. If I had to pick one ingredient that does it all, this would be my pick. It really supports the skin all year round. It has fatty acids and regenerative nutrients, such as vitamins A (which encourage cell cycle) and vitamin E.

It’s concentrated, so when you feed your skin with its soft and supple texture, you’re getting much more nourishing skin treatment than you would from an average store-bought product. Only, it feels dreamy and soft on your skin. Combined with the other ingredients in this recipe, it really takes skin healing to the next level.

Kokum butter is a truly wonderful ingredient derived from the Kokum tree (a fruit related to the mangosteen). It’s harder than shea or mango butter, but still melts at skin temperature. Like shea butter, it’s non-comedogenic and suitable for all skin types (but especially good for sensitive skin). It is also extremely stable and can help extend the life of any DIY product. For this reason, you will find it in many products to add firmness and stability.

Like cocoa butter, it also has the wonderful property of being absorbed deep into the second layer of the skin, the dermis. The dermis is where structural damage can occur, which is why kokum is such a fantastic healing ingredient. Not only does it contain as many vitamins and minerals as shea butter. It also accelerates healing with its natural penetration enhancement.

Rosehip Oil I chose rosehip oil for this recipe because it has become a favorite beauty product that really transforms your skin. Its high vitamin A content promotes cell turnover in a way that works very close to a drugstore retinol. It promotes really fast fading and evening scars and dark spots on your skin. Best of all is a dry oil that sinks into your skin and leaves no greasy residue.

Jojoba oil it’s not really an oil, but a liquid wax. It is very close in structure and function to the oil produced by the skin itself, sebum. Thus it is able to regulate oil production and calm stressed, overworked skin. It contains high levels of vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps fight any oxidative damage.

Coconut oil adds a creamy, firm texture to this mixture. I chose it for this formula because of the omega-6 fatty acids it contains that help restore the skin barrier and reduce any inflammation.

Blue Tansy essential oil (Tanacetum annuum) has a lovely deep blue color naturally, with fruity, citrus and herbal undertones. This oil helps soothe any redness or irritation you may be experiencing. This is because camphor is also one of the ingredients in this oil, which is an ingredient widely known for soothing the skin and body.

Frankincense oil (from Boswellia tree family) is a resin with a warm, spicy aroma that encourages cell turnover and protection. It has a tightening effect on the skin, as well as reducing any inflammation or irritation. I only used 10 drops in this formula because of how concentrated it is. A little really goes a long way with this liquid gold.

Night cream recipe

Components

  • 3 ounces shea butter
  • 1 ounce of Kokum butter
  • 2 ounces rosehip oil
  • 2 oz Jojoba oil
  • 1 oz coconut oil
  • 30 drops of Blue Tansy essential oil
  • 10 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
  1. Place the shea butter, kokum butter and coconut oil in a double boiler over low heat until completely liquefied
  2. In a separate bowl, combine jojoba oil and rosehip oil
  3. After the butters and coconut oil have melted, let it cool for a minute
  4. Add the oil mixture and mix with a wooden spoon
  5. Now add the essential oils and mix
  6. Place your mixture in the freezer for about 45 minutes, until it is not completely solid but slightly runny in the middle.
  7. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with your spoon to bring the textures together
  8. Beat for 3-5 minutes until fluffy
  9. Put it in your jars
  10. Wear just before bed and wake up with soft, nourished skin!

I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do. It’s always nice when you create something for your skin that’s powerfully soothing and effective at a fraction of the cost of a typical store night cream.
