Kosas Cosmetics is a makeup company that has been on my radar for a long time. I had heard Kosas The makeup contained only pure ingredients that truly improved the skin and were comfortable to wear. I decided to dive in with their most popular products to see if they compare to my other natural favorites like 100% Pure and Hynt Beauty. Read my Kosas review to see what I learned.

I love reviewing new, clean makeup brands. These days, it’s not hard to clean up your makeup routine and find incredible products that perform well, apply easily, and look great. Kosas is a clean beauty brand that I’ve been hearing a lot about and have been wanting to try for quite some time.

What sets Kosas apart from the rest is that their makeup is specially formulated as if it were skin care. Using ingredients like hyaluronic acid, avocado oil, shea butter, panthenol, provitamin B5, castor oil, peptides and caffeine, these products not only boost and conceal, but work over time to naturally improve your skin. I have tried a handful of products from Kosas and have been impressed with the quality. I actually feel like I’m using skincare instead of makeup. Read on to find out my opinion and experience with each product I purchased.

About Kosas:

Kosas focuses on comfortable makeup that actually benefits the skin. They believe simple is best and their formulas keep sensitive skin types in mind.

Kosas founder Sheena Zadeh-Daly started the company in 2015. She wanted to create a clean beauty line that was super comfortable to wear as well as sensitive skin friendly. What is interesting is that the first shades of makeup were created in a portrait painting class. “We still think of our colors as works of art. Vibrant, unique, dimensional shades that are so easy to wear, yet far from boring.”

“Welcome to the next level of pure beauty revealing, expressingand emotion comfortable on your skin. It’s good makeup (not no makeup) that’s quick, easy, can’t mess it up. And it is clinically proven to really fix your skin better, even when naked. So you can look like your favorite self every day.

Skin-enhancing makeup, clinically proven: Excellent nutrients at active levels deliver real skin care benefits. Hydrating, soothing, brightening, plumping and more. Kosas goes beyond banned lists (more info here). We continue to formulate, test and innovator up to each product pushes beauty forward and it is clean.”

Which Kosas products I tried:

I also tried a palette that had a cream blush and a cream highlighter. I love using this palette as it gives my skin a dewy finish rather than matte. However, it is not on the website and could possibly have been discontinued.

In my photos, I’m wearing all Kosas makeup.

My Kosas Review:

Kosas Revealer Concealer it is definitely a product that stands out. It has a creamy texture and is made with skin-loving ingredients like caffeine, arnica, peptides and hyaluronic acid that are all meant to reduce fine lines, puffiness and dark circles while providing excellent coverage. I used the concealer under my eyes, on my chin and around my nose. I found that the Kosas concealer did a great job of covering imperfections while not looking cakey or thick. It definitely felt like a second skin. It also wore a lot and has medium coverage. It was easy to find the right color because their shade range was extensive. As long as you know your undertones, you should be able to find your perfect match.

Wet Lip Oil Gloss it has hyaluronic acid, peptides, avocado oil, konjac root, shea butter and evening primrose. These active ingredients visibly plump and protect the lips. I love this lip oil. It’s light but really does a great job of moisturizing the lips and is long lasting for being so light! It gives my lips a natural glow. When I first tried it, I wondered if it was substantial enough to wear a lot and replenish my lips. Most lip oils are light and inconsequential with little to no staying power. This was not the case with the Wet Lip Oil Gloss. This lip gloss has won at least 9 awards, including Allure’s Best of Beauty 2023.

Air brow comes in clear and tinted formula. This product is the end of eyebrow gel. Contains biodegradable vegetable microfibers, panthenol provitamin b, biotinoyl tripeptide (supports healthier, fuller hair), hyaluronic acid, castor oil (for hair growth) and trehalose (moisturizer and preservative). This gel shaped my brows and provided a good hold without being too stiff and clingy to my skin. It was also very wearable and gave my brows more fluff! I will definitely repurchase this product in the full size and try the tinted version.

The 10-Second eye it’s an eye cream. Full disclosure-I’m not a big fan of cream eyeshadows because I find them hard to apply and I tend to have oily lids. There was a learning curve with applying this product and I felt like I had to layer it to get the color I wanted. While I think this product is great when it comes to liquid eyeshadows, I personally won’t be repurchasing it. Contains orange blossom water for shine and toning and shea butter and jojoba oil for hydration. It goes on smoothly and stays put, but because I layered it I could feel it on my lids all day. Each product has undergone clinical studies and 100% of women who wore Kosas Mascara for 2 weeks saw longer, thicker lashes!

The Big Clean Mascara it gave my lashes a lot of volume and is buildable but one coat gave me a full set of lashes. The pure formula of this mascara contains castor oil for hair growth. It also contains provitamin B5, biotinoyl tripeptide-1 for fuller hair and plant-based sugars that offer longer life without microplastics. It didn’t give me raccoon eyes which I’m also prone to and it didn’t feel too dry or flaky on my lashes.

The cream blush and highlighter combo (in black solid) was awesome and I’m sad it’s gone. Creams are always a bit more difficult to apply, but for me, the look is worth it. Although not available, the product was of excellent quality and reinforces my approval of the company overall.

In the future I will try many other beauty products like Kosas Revealer Foundation SPF 25 and Sun Show Bronzer, Kosas Glow ID which is an additive to your foundation that gives the skin a subtle glow. I would also buy the lip oil, tinted brow gel and concealer. Kosas lipstick they have a satin finish and boast long hours of wear with pretty nice colors so that’s a big deal too! I guess basically I would like to buy them all. Hahaha.

In conclusion, Kosas is a fantastic company with pure products that really benefit and strengthen your skin. My favorite product so far has to be the concealer with the lip oil and brow gel tied as a close second. I’m a fan!
