There are so many ways to announce your pregnancy to your loved ones or on social media. We know social media can be a big deal these days, and your pregnancy might not be real until you post about it.
You can never go wrong with a letter board post. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. We’ve also seen the trending press releases if you want a more modern look! A simple yet fashionable change to announce your new baby.
If you plan to keep it simple, you can always choose a photo of your ultrasound. Surround it with photo props like flowers, a cake, sweet treats, your dog or some other animal in the house holding the photo in its mouth, or something that represents you and your partner!
Picture this: an empty wine glass, the beach, a picnic, and your ultrasound photo with the caption “Don’t refill until (Month) (Year)”
If you’re a coffee lover… “It’s time to spill the beans… baby (last name) (#__) is getting ready!”
For funny captions, here are some of our favorites: “Expecting new roommate (month) (year), “Looking forward to new tax deduction in (year)!”, “I like big hits and can’t lie, “I’ll we need a bigger car,” & “No, really… this is the last one.”
For more than one child we like these ideas: “Soon we will be a family (number),” “Big Brother” – they say it’s a promotion, but all I see is no pay rise and more responsibilities,” “The only child expires (month) (year),” “We figured since the kids are sleeping through the night, they all go to school in the fall, and we absolutely got rid of every baby we have for the 2nd time… we might as well start over! Fun ways to tell older siblings about your pregnancy
Before you can post on social media, the best part is to tell your other little ones and/or family members in person! Don’t feel like you have to rush, Mom. Some children are not very familiar with the concept of time (yet) and wait until second trimester or the end of the first trimester can help your little one visualize.
Depending on their age, some fun ways to tell older siblings about pregnancy it’s having them read a “Big Sister” book or giving them a cute shirt to wear.
Telling them with a baby doll or other toy they are interested in can help them understand as well.
Creating a custom Big Sister/Brother book together and showing them how great it is to be a big brother! Reading it as a family can generate excitement (and lots of questions)!
You can take them to your ultrasound appointment or show them the photo and ask them to visualize what the photo represents.
Watching a baby movie like, Storks, Boss Baby and so many more.

For girls:
Using floral arrangements, ribbons, anything that represents you as a mom. Even a boho-inspired look with your little girl is just as precious! Some colors you can include are pink, white, pastel and some earth tones. You can not forget wooden signs, or a cork to really add to this image.
For boys:
Sports bras, dad’s tie and/watch, something that represents dad (or mom), or incorporate their name if possible! Some colors to include are gray, blue, white, black and earth tones!
