Vaginal odor is a very common problem that most women have to deal with every now and then. It can be caused by a number of reasons, including bacterial overgrowth, yeast infections, poor hygiene, hormonal changes, and sexually transmitted diseases. If the problem is due to infection, there may be symptoms such as redness, itching, burning and irritation in the vaginal area. The fishy smell down there, specifically, is caused by bacterial vaginitis. In this case, these remedies also help, but you should look into it further.

For immediate relief from itching, pain and burning and to relieve inflammation, take an ice pack and apply to the vagina. This will provide instant relief from vaginitis due to the cooling and numbing sensation that comes with applying ice.

Read the top 5 natural remedies to get rid of vaginal odor with very simple ingredients.

Baking soda is another ingredient that can be used to balance the pH level in your body. When the pH level is in balance, the problem of vaginal odor will disappear. Add half a cup of baking soda to your bath water. Soak your lower body in it for about 20 minutes. Dry yourself thoroughly with a clean towel. This remedy will help fight a yeast infection and can help you get rid of the smell quickly.

White vinegar has the power to neutralize odors by breaking down odor proteins. A white vinegar rinse will help eliminate vaginal odor. It will also help restore pH levels in the vagina. Mix half a cup of white vinegar and salt in warm bath water. Soak in it for a few minutes. Follow this treatment several times a week.

Tea tree oil contains strong antifungal as well as antiseptic properties and thus can be used to get rid of unpleasant vaginal odor. It will help you get rid of the bacteria that are contributing to the problem. Add three drops of tea tree oil to a cup of water.

Use this solution to rinse the affected area daily or several times a week. I like to use a syringe (without the needle). Do this several times a week. Essential oils are really strong, so don’t put more than 2-3 drops. Do not put essential oil directly on the vulva, it will burn.

Another good ingredient that can be used to treat vaginal odor is yogurt. Yogurt is rich in lactobacilli bacteria, which help fight candida infection (one of the most common causes of vaginal odor) and restore the normal vaginal pH level. Once the pH level is balanced, the vaginal odor will disappear. Eat two cups of unsweetened yogurt daily. You can also take probiotic supplements.

I know what you’re thinking: How am I going to get rid of the stench by putting another one on top? Garlic is a natural antibiotic that can be great for treating vaginal infections as well as vaginal odor. The antifungal properties present in garlic will help your body fight a yeast infection to get rid of the bad bacteria.

Consume garlic raw or cooked on a daily basis. You can eat one or two raw garlic cloves on an empty stomach with a glass of warm water. You can also add garlic cloves or its paste to your dishes and salads. If you have trouble digesting raw garlic in general, I wouldn’t do it. I would go for the option below.

Put a piece of garlic in the sinus for an hour or two. Do this daily or a few times a week until you get rid of the problem. Peel off the paper like skin from the clove and insert. For a stronger effect you can cut the clove or cut it in half.

You can go through the clove for easy removal but I don’t think it’s necessary (especially if you’re a cup user), it was easy to remove. You can also make garlic paste and extract the juice from it. Apply directly to the vaginal area to kill germs. Garlic can be mixed with coconut oil and vitamin E also to treat vaginitis. Coconut oil prevents the spread of fungal infections

Vinegar Because of its antibacterial and antiseptic properties, apple cider vinegar can be used to combat vaginal odor. In fact, bathing in apple cider vinegar is one of the simplest ways to get rid of bad odor. This will help fight the toxins and bacteria that cause vaginal odor. It will also help restore the acidic quality of the vaginal flora.

Mix two cups of apple cider vinegar in warm bath water. Soak in it for about 20 minutes. Follow this treatment several times a week to get quick results. You can also drink a glass of water mixed with one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar daily.
