How to make Korean Beef Tacos (step by step)

For Korean beef
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil (such as the cat)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Lb beef
- 2 Green onions, thin slices, plus more for service
For the seasoning sauce
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or coffee
- 1/4 cup reduced soy sauce
- 2 Tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 Tsp red pepper flakes, or more to taste
- 1/4 Tsp ginger
To serve
- 10 small wrappers
- 2 1/2 cups Asian Slaw (or a composite cabbage with thin slices, red pepper and carrot)
- 1-2 Green onions, only green parts, sliced
- 2-3 Tsp sesame
In a large saucepan: Heat the vegetable oil to medium high. Sprinkle the garlic, add to the pan and sauté for about 1 minute, until flavored.
Stir the beef and cook until browned and collapsed, about 4 to 6 minutes.
Meanwhile, make the seasoning sauce: in a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame seeds, red pepper flakes and ginger, until combined and set aside. Cut the green onions and gather your storm.
When the beef is done, remove any excess fat. Mix the seasoning sauce and sliced onions and simmer for about 2 minutes, until absorbed.
Serve immediately. We like to determine beef, wrappers and garnishes so that everyone can gather their own tacos with all their own favorites. We use about 1/4 every beef and sugar and sprinkle with green onions and sesame per taco.
If you do not have a hand wrap or you need this to be gluten -free, this dish is delicious served in lettuce wrapped and adding fluffy rice to complete the meal. In place of the Asian slaw, simply throw away the napa or romaine cabbage along with the Julienned carrots and some chopped coriander.
