Varicosettes are considered a common disorder that occurs when the veins in the scrotum become expanded. While 15-20% of American males are affected, varicocetes are usually painless and often independent. If it is remarkable, they may present as swollen testicles or produce dull pain or pain in the scrotum or groin. The enlarged veins can make the scrotum feel like a worm bag.

While they are mainly harmless, there are some adverse effects on health that can occur. The main issue is infertility, while varicocetes contribute about 40% of all cases of male infertility. Medical professionals believe that this may be due to the increase in the temperature of the bay from excess blood in enlarged veins, which can lead to reduced sperm quality. Otherwise, there may be “Azospermia” issues, where the sperm (ejaculation) does not contain sperm.

There are several theories about how varicocetes are formed. It is considered to be relatives, which means that males are born with them. They can become more apparent around adolescence when the reproductive system begins to circulate more blood flow. Varicoceles at this stage can touch the development of the affected testicular, which can theoretically affect testosterone levels. This can lead to male hypogonadism, which can reduce sexual movement, reduce muscle mass, weaken bones and cause depression. In very severe cases, varicocetes can cause testicular atrophy and sometimes complete testicles. However, there are usually no side effects unless the varicose veins are serious.

In terms of sexual function, varicocetes have been linked to erectile dysfunction (ED) in young men and men over 60. This may be due to a decrease in testosterone that affects sexual movement. There may also be negative issues of sexual function such as prostatitis, caused by pelvic congestion and prostate inflammation as a result of varicochs.

Possible treatments

Because they are generally harmless, common treatments for varicose veins are more focused on pain management, such as the use of ice packages or anti -inflammatory drugs that do not have anti -inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. It has also been suggested to wear tight underwear, spandex or athletic straps as a form of compression, which can help with any swelling. Because varicocetes are essentially like varicose veins in the scrotum, this would work similar to compression socks.

In some cases, such as severe varicose veins that affect fertility or testosterone production, circulation may be performed. This includes a urologist who cuts the infected veins and seals the edges, which redirect blood flow to other healthy veins. Otherwise, an expert may choose to perform an embolism that creates a scarring of scar tissue in the affected veins, cutting blood flow and redirect to healthier veins. These processes can help improve sperm measurements or sperm quality and allow the affected testicle to return to its intended size.

Conclusion

Overall, varicocetes do not deal with huge concerns and can be treated with basic pain management techniques. However, if they cause severe chronic pain, infertility or other more serious testicular problems, it is important to contact a sexual health professional.
