You have heard before the pre-cum. But how much do you really know about it?
If a time has passed since your last class of sexual health, let’s catch you what everyone needs to know about pre-cum.
If you are not familiar with the term, it is the clear substance that flows from the edge of a penis during male sexual arousal.
So why is it important to know, can you ask?
Well, for one, the more educated we are all about how pre-cum affects sexual stimulation, the experience of sex itself, the possible pregnancy and even the STI transmission, the better.
Knowledge is the strength and knowledge of the way your body works can help you improve sex for you and your partner (not to mention you as healthy and without SI).

For two, the pre-cum has some things in common with sperm-and some differences from this-which could prove to be important to your sex life.
So here’s everything you need to know about pre-cam-what it is, what to look out and what to keep in mind for safer sex-as doctors said.
What is pre-cum?
So what exactly are the things that come out before you ejaculate?
“Pre-cum, or pre-ejaculate. It is a clear liquid that looks like a mucus released from the penis during sexual arousal,” he explains, he explains, he explains Amy pearlman, mdA urologist certified by the Board of Directors in Florida.
A fun fact for the pre-cum: Although it comes out of the same hole (the urethra), it is not the same as the sperm.
“The pre-cum comes from sexual glands like accessories such as the Cowper gland, which are different from the prostate and sperm testicles,” Pearlman explains.
The cowper glands are small pea -shaped pea -shaped glands connected to the urethra through two conductors. When the pre-cum is released, it passes through the urethra and outside the penis.
Another entertainment event: Pre-cum has a purpose.

“Many young men I see in my practice do not realize that the precum is a natural part of stimulation and serves important biological functions, such as neutralizing the acidic environment in the urethra to protect sperm,” Pearlman says.
The pre-cum also serves as a natural lubricant during sex and is similar to the fluid made by the vagina during the stimulation process, also known as when people with bays “get liquid”.
The difference between pre-cum & semen
While the sperm tends to be thick and white or very slightly white, typically with a separate odor in it, the pre-cum varies a bit in the composition.
“Pre-cum is often odorless, tasteless and has a clear, sometimes sticky consistency,” explains Paul Gittens, MD, a certified board and founder of Rockwell Centers for Sexual Medicine and Wellness in Pennsylvania and New York.
Interestingly, most men cannot detect when the pre-cum is released as they can with sperm.
While sperm arrival is usually difficult to lose, as it comes out of the urethra to high speed, the pre-cum is much thinner-it will come out slowly, in smaller quantities, sometimes forming a simple drop in the end of the penis or wetting it head as it emerges more.

And, since it is usually much thinner than the somewhat full consequence of sperm, you may not notice that they are there.
These differences are meaningful, as the purpose of the pre-cum is also different from seeds.
“Pre-cum is mainly a lubricant and protective fluid, while the sperm contains sperm that can fertilize an egg,” Pearlman says.
The pre-cum does not contain natural sperm, but the sperm can sometimes be present in the pre-cum (more so later).
And while the pre-cum is done in the auxiliary glands, however, the sperm is done in the testicles and in combination with the spermatic fluid (a nutrient that helps sperm movement, also known as sperm motility).
Is it safe to swallow pre-cum?
If you are wondering if the pre-cum is safe to orally consume, whether during a blowjob or not, the answer is yes and the two partners are free of sexually transmitted infections.
“Precum can carry infections such as HIV, even though the concentration is lower than in sperm,” Pearlman explains. “When I talk to patients about oral sex, I emphasize the importance of STI tests and safe practices, as many do not realize that the precum can create a risk.”
The regular test for STDs is the key to safe sex and this includes oral sex. Since most men cannot control pre-cam or feel when it happens, it is especially important in cases where a partner can consume pre-cum orally.
Can Pre-Cum cause pregnancy?
While the pre-cum itself does not contain sperm, pre-cum can still cause pregnancy.
“It could take millions of milliseconds for a ejaculation (sperm-containing liquid) happen after the first place of pre-cam, so pulling is never a good way to avoid pregnancy,” Gittens explains.
Pre-cum may also contain sperm from previous ejaculation.
“Studies show that up to 40% of men may have sperm in their precum, even after urination,” Pearlman says.
In her practice, Pearlman found that many young men rely on the withdrawal method (pull out) as their unique form of contraception – often without knowing their partner’s contraceptive.
“I advise them that withdrawal alone is unreliable and we recommend combining it with methods such as condoms or ensuring that their partner is in an effective contraceptive,” he says.

Thus, in the sum, yes, pre-cum and ejaculation are different from each other, even until they are produced by different glands.
However, pre-cum still poses a risk for transmitted infections, similar to sperm, and can still cause pregnancy, although it does not contain natural sperm, so it is important to use contraception if you and your partner want to prevent it .
