May 17 marks World Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Idahobit. In honor of Idahobit 2024, “no one was left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all”, we give the focus the MindMapbc project. Mindmapbc It is a tool for finding services that helps people identify 2s/LGBTQ+ confirming mental health support in British Colombia.
In recent years, MindMapBC is run by the Confirm cooperativeA research team that pledged to promote health equality 2S/LGBTQ+. However, the team always envisioned the long -term future of the website to be in the hands of an organization based on the community. This summer marks the implementation of this vision as the project changes hands from Reaffirm to QmunityThe Queer, Trans and Two-Spirit Resources Center of BC.
The CGSH interviewed Reaffirm and Qmunity on the collective work done in the work and its transition. The groups shared how they planned to proceed with the vision and expanding the field of MindMapBC.
Tell us more about the MindMapBC project.
MindMapbc helps people identify 2s/LGBTQ+ by confirming mental health support, resources and related articles. The project was developed together with our partners, Men’s Health Initiative and Community -based research center. From the traffic website, we continued to work closely with community -based organizations, defense groups, mental health providers and members of the 2S/LGBTQ+ community to improve and expand the site.
Qmunity, tell us more about your organization.
QMYity provides support and connection through a variety of services, such as young and old programs, advice and our peer groups. Our office is in Vancouver, but we work throughout the province with virtual services and recently expanding our program for the elderly inside.
We confirm, when did the cooperation start? How does it look like a community organization and a research team to work together?
From the beginning, Qmunity was crucial for the success of MindMapbbc. The members of their team provided support and guidance as we expanded the site and promoted it throughout the eg. They have helped to guide our approach and ensure that MindMapBC continues to align with the needs and priorities of the community.
What prompted the idea for MindMapbc to be transferred from Reaffirm to Qmunity?
REAFFIRM: Although we, at Reaffirm Collaborative, have retained the site in recent years, we have done so with great support from the community partners. As a source of mental health for communities 2S/LGBTQ+ throughout the eg, we wanted the long -term future of the site to be in the hands of an organization based organization.
The constant leadership and organization of QMYNITY with Queer, Trans and Two-Spirit people throughout their BC makes a perfect partner not only to continue this project, but also to expand the project in new ways.
– Confirm Group
Qmunity: We really appreciated the partnership with Reaffirm and all the Community partners who helped create MindMapBC. It was natural for MindMapbbc to move to QMYity to continue to be a resource for queer people throughout the province, as we are constantly expanding our services and community building choices throughout eg.
Qmunity, what are your hopes for the future of MindMapbc?
The confirmation and their Community partners did such a fantastic work in the construction of the MindMapbc structure, so that the resources mentioned therein were reliable through various reputable measurements. Qmunity is committed to supporting this practice so that MindMapbc can be a reliable resource in the future.
None of the resources mentioned just put a rainbow sticker and called it one day. Everyone is asked how they deliberately work together with many marginalized queer people before they are recorded.
– Qmunity group
The best thing for MindMapbbc is that it has been created by and for queer communities throughout e.g. We hope that MindMapbbc will be a celebration of Queer Base Communities throughout the province and will represent the dedication of the Queer community to take care of each other through reliable references.

Have you heard of Qmunity’s Summer of Love project? As part of the project, QMYity will attend 21 pride celebrations throughout the province in the coming months. With each attitude, they will host dedication sessions with local pride organizers to find out which services are available to their community, adding to the order of existing resources in MindMapBC.
