With a common passion for natural products and the support of pregnant women and moms with their fresh approach to body care, Andrea and Moira worked to create an effective range with their unique mixtures. Here they talk to Natural Parent magazine about the back innovation Lullaby louThe advantages and disadvantages of the operation of their own business and their hopes and dreams for the future.
Innovation: What was the biggest discovery for you with your business?
Meeting Moira, while being detected by a torn tendon and a broken ankle – and finding another person passionate about the products used to allow safe and calm pregnancy – was God.
Weekly massage sessions restored quickly turned into weekly meetings to develop Lullaby lou.
Moira left her corporate work in 2019 to study massage therapy and is now a skilled professional massage specializing in pregnancy, postnatal and baby massage. She continued her studies and gained her qualifications. Working with moms and moms, on a daily basis, she understands their desires and needs in relation to safe and natural products. In addition, it offers SPA sessions and treatments in the studio. Calm and loose moms make calm and loose babies 😊
Andrea began her body and bathroom of Nectar about fifteen years ago, initially to make natural soaps for her eczema son for years and realized handmade soaps who relieved him. Family and friends quickly dump the benefits and results and want some for their families. After years of nectar as a side fuss, Andrea closed its internal planning business to run full -time nectar and develop a successful and sought after bodycare series.
We have worked hard for two years of building the original mom and baby of nectar and its reconstruction to inspire and invite moms and their families to truly reflect on efficiency and safety in the body they use in their own body and babies them.

We started with extensive research and experimentation to find the perfect balance of the ingredients that offered not only the highest benefits for skin care, but also provided a premium for pre- and postnatal moms and babies. After numerous tests and adjustments, we have managed to formulate a range of products that offer excellent results without based on synthetic additives or hard chemicals.

Confidence and Customer Faith: Customers observe a real difference in their skin, which enhances their trust in our brand and encourages repeated markets.
Sustainable practices: By incorporating the methods of sustainable supply and production, we have been aligned with our values and appeal to environmentally conscious consumers. Wherever we can, we always favor native oils and extracts prepared by either us or by credible related suppliers.
Yin and Yang: How do you balance work and family?
Balancing work and family requires flexibility and a deep understanding of what really matters. “Choose your battles” is a big saying!
We are both mothers with older children so you could say that we have a balance in a t -shirt and we can manage businesses and family with our hands tied behind our backs.
Both of our young boys who are still residing at home are so appreciated by us – especially when we have to move heavy stock!
We both try to do time for self-care activities that help us recharge us-whether it is an exercise or to attract friends. We both live five minutes from the beach, where you will find us to take time when we need with the family dog or just sit under the pohutukawas and look at the sea, depressing.
Life is unpredictable and flexibility is decisive. Choose your hard, take a deep breath and arrange it!
The drive: What challenges have you overcome?
Configuration Challenges: The development of effective and safe physical bodycare products requires extensive R&D along with clinical trials. Many natural ingredients have distinct properties and finding combinations that work well together delivering the desired results gets a fair test and error. Tests, tests and more tests until…
Supply Chain/Supply: The supply of high quality, sustainable ingredients is a challenge. With the years of business, we have personally experienced too much inferior quality, design and functionality – and add to many changes to protocols and timetables. We have spent a long time building reliable relationships with reliable suppliers and differentiation of sources, which have helped to stabilize our supply chain and ensure consistency of the products.
Regulatory Compliance: Regulations and certifications for natural and organic products are scary for many smaller businesses. Ensuring that all products meet security standards, they comply with the labeling requirements and the achievement of the necessary certifications require meticulous attention to detail and continuous training on regulatory changes. Market penetration: Establishing a base in an extremely competitive market was another major challenge. Obviously the years of Covid had a huge disorder, again and again for smaller businesses. In addition to the flood of the market with newly established start -up businesses that dilute our efforts!
Breaking noise and brand recognition that requires strategic marketing, effective communication of our unique points of value and very strong focus on customer satisfaction. Involving potential customers through local markets, website and social and partnerships with like -minded businesses has helped us to gain attraction. We welcome the conversation directly with our customers and we love to help when they seek advice and information.
Each challenge presented an opportunity for development and learning. Staying durable, seeking solutions and adaptation to changing conditions, we were able to overcome these obstacles and promote the business forward.
