If you don’t think about your musculoskeletal system, Vonda Wright, MDhas a bone to take with you. Or, rather, a new book you may want to read.

As an orthopedic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience, Wright knows good bones and what it takes to keep them loud as we grow older.

This is especially important for women, because bone loss is accelerated during the await and menopause. And many women do not realize that they are at risk of life -changing bone problems.

Wright’s latest book, Unbreakable: A woman’s guide to aging with forceIt offers a plan for healthy aging and bone health through diet, lifestyle and exercise during awaiting and after menopause.

“But it’s not just an exercise, we go deep into mental durability and teach you techniques so that we can be more mentally resistant at this time, we teach you about science – the new science of aging – because women are smart, they don’t want to tell them what to do.

We asked Wright about why and her secrets to live a long, healthy life.

Our interview follows, processing for clarity and length.

Healthy: Congratulations on your new book. Can you extend a little to what does aging with power mean?

Vonda Wright: There is an expectation and the myth in this country that aging is an inevitable decline from vitality to weakness and that we cannot do much about it. There is also the thought that, for women, the suffering we have been through over the last two decades are normal aging. But reality is my research and other people’s research in my field have found that when we invest in types – I call them “shields” – against the aging bombs, that we can be healthy, vital, active and happy.

Thus, the real narrative change I try to rotate is that it becomes weak, fragile women are not inevitable – but it is likely that we will not go ahead. So, Unbreakable It is built throughout this condition. How can we build mental durability and physical durability, because, sincerely, aging is not for sissies.

HW: Tell us why women need this book right now.

Manufacturer: We are in a beautiful place, or we get to a beautiful place and I say this knowing that I am staying in a vacuum, believing that more and more women understand middle life and menopause. There were myriad books that really gave us the information we need but Unbreakable It’s the next step. Unbreakable She is the first female book on longevity written by a woman who is happening to be a female doctor for women. We are all of course age. However, the cataclysmic changes that occur when the estrogen comes out of the door makes us normal, socially and psychologically different people.

That is why I am currently calling “Meno-Lescensse”, the transitional period. Unbreakable He gets his understanding, “Oh my God, we will all go through menopause,” he ends.

Watch: The 3 stages of menopause >>

HW: Women experience bone loss during peripheral and postmenopausal, or as you call it, “Menopause Musculoskeletal Syndrome”. What can women do for the health of their bones during awareness?

Manufacturer: Bone health begins long before the expected and there are times where bone health should be critically interested.

For example, I have a 17 -year -old and a 30 -year -old, and now is the time to build the bones because we build the top density of our bones once we are 30. It depends on what we stored in our 20s. Many women come to me and say, “I don’t want to grow old like my mother or my grandmother.” Well, if we don’t want to, then we have to move forward by taking these actions.

So, if we have not developed these patterns of behavior in our critical decade, we must do it when we are in awareness, even during the chaos zone – during the time when our hormones are everywhere. We need to determine these lifestyle standards because postmemopause – in 55 – is more difficult. In 65, even more difficult.

HW: So isn’t it too late to create good bone health in the middle life?

Manufacturer: Can it be done? Absolutely. Is it harder? Absolutely. So the time to get in front of him – if we don’t have before – is the adoption.

HW: What is one of the most important things you want postmenopausal women to know about their bone health?

Manufacturer: I would like all postmenopausal women to get a dexa scan or a Ultrasound Rems And they really know the state of their bones. We should not guess.

Bones are not just structural – bones are critical communications with our whole body. Healthy bones communicate with our brains to make new brain cells, communicate with our fat and muscles. So, I want women to really know their bones, taking them as if you have a mammography or colonoscopy. And then I want to understand the full width of what the bones do for us because we don’t just keep our muscles.

HW: How important is bone health exercise and what is the transition to strong bones?

Manufacturer: Exercise is critical. Jump, impact exercise and lifting weights.

HW: Is it possible to rebuild bone density if you have osteoporosis?

Manufacturer: Yes, you can change osteoporosis. It is the lifestyle and decisions on hormonal treatment with menopause – sometimes plus medication. It’s not one thing. It is the complete complement to the influence that matters.

HW: You’re a longevity specialist. Tell us one of your top tips to live a long and healthy life?

Manufacturer: Changing our mindset from the place where we worship our youth to realize that today, tomorrow and the days in the future will be the best of your life when you rotate your mindset towards the life of the more authentic – living with hope, looking at the future – because I can tell you every little detail. But until you believe you can change the future and that you deserve your daily investment in your health – nothing else.
