Over the past 30+ years, AFPA has certified over 130,000 health, nutrition and exercise professionals. We regularly have distinguished and young graduates who use what they have learned to inspire others and make the difference.

Meet one of our graduates, Darleene Peters, owner of Deep Wellness Nola. Darlene has won the Certification of the AFPA health coach and well -being.

Meet the AFPA Darlene Peters, Certified Health and Wellness Coach graduate

Tell us about yourself.

Hello, my name is Darleene Peters. I am the chief executive and founder of Deep well -being Nola It is located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

How did you start to care about health and wellness?

As I began to mature and the demands of the husband, mom and busy, a professional began to take my tax, I realized that I had to prioritize my health and well -being. I also realized that I had to be able to help my loved ones prioritize their health and well -being. I had to be the example.

I have learned about the associations between stress and chronic diseases and how these chronic diseases that have continued to hurt so many of us are largely preventable due to lifestyle factors. So, at this point, I became determined to help others.

I knew that being certified would be an important step to the impact.

What AFPA certification have you won and why did you choose this certification program?

I received the AFPA certification in health and wellness training. I thoroughly searched all my choices and I liked to read what the AFPA, the variety of their programs and the support of students. However, ongoing support, even beyond certification, is really what prompted me to go with the AFPA.

It is a great organization and I continue to use it even after my certification for my continued education credits to stay at the top of news and developments in the health and wellness arena. And it has been shown to be an invaluable resource throughout my time as a certified health and wellness coach.

What are your favorite parts of your business?

YouTube video

My favorite place for the operation of this business is to be able to help others. It’s this feeling when someone tells me that the information I shared was useful and beneficial to them. It is the feeling of constant learning, because health and well -being, as we know it, continues to evolve. AFPA allowed me to stay at the top of industry trends and developments.

I am also proud to say that I am certified in a field where many other people cannot say that. I am committed to becoming certified so that I can be taken seriously and be able to be authorized and expert in the field of health and wellness.

How has it been certified with the AFPA that influenced your life?

YouTube video

Being certified by AFPA on health training and well -being had such a huge impact on me in more ways than I could imagine. He forced me to think outside the box when I thought I could only do it through a person or coaching team. I realized that I could arrive by writing, speaking, presenting and sharing information and forced me to look at myself and examine myself and realize that I have more to offer and that I could have the impact I wanted to have. I could have everything I wanted as soon as I believe.

I still use AFPA as a personal resource. Their blogs, their elements, continuing education courses are extremely useful and I use them to stay at the top of industry trends and developments and only in my attempt to continue helping people lead healthy and good lives.

What advice would you give others to receive certified through AFPA?

People need health and wellness coaches.

So maybe you were like me and I thought, “I can really do that? I have the time to do that? I have enough on my plate.” I tell you that you can and should. The AFPA program is self-regulated, it is incredibly convenient, and it is online. You can go at your own pace. You can be as ambitious as you want to complete the program within the time period allowed by your program.

I was juggling work and kids, extra full -time, and became certified during a pandemic. So if I can do it, you can. And I promise you the rewards, the benefits, the feeling of completion will be amazing.

How can we find you online?
