My year end is off

My Year End Is Off

As we come to the end of this year, I wanted to share some thoughts and express my deepest gratitude for each of you who are part of our community.

Reflecting on 2023, some of us may describe it as a challenging year, while others may have found it really rewarding – or more likely, a mixture of everything! No matter where you are, take a moment to recognize and be proud of how resiliently you navigated this. You have become wiser and stronger.

I wish you could feel my gratitude for all of you through these screens. Maybe you can feel it.

JSHealth started as a means for me to connect with like-minded people women, also in trying to discover the healthy life of balance. It started with books and evolved into vitamins, all with the same mission in mind—to empower and support you to feel your absolute best. This is my calling and I hold it so close to my heart.

Before anything else, JSHealth has been a community – and that fills me with immense pride.

Each year brings its own lessons and obstacles. Many in our community have expressed that this year has felt mentally draining, and if this resonates with you, know that you are not alone.

As a nutritionist in the health industry, I have seen countless women share similar experiences over the course of this year. But I firmly believe that each year provides the exact lessons needed for our growth and resilience.

Out of adversity, blessings often emerge. The best things in my life – all of them – sprung from adversity.

So take some time to honor and celebrate yourself this season. The inner strength and goodness within each member of this community never stops it impresses me.

These qualities will always drive us forward.

Remember, you have everything you need to embrace the coming year. You will continue to show how resilient and exceptional you really are.

I’d like to share a practice that my husband Dean and I do every year. We take two weeks off to switch off from work, email and social media to reset our minds and bodies. This “year-end mind break” is a real game changer for your emotional and physical well-being. I encourage you to try it yourself and head into 2024 feeling ready for the adventure ahead!

  1. Lower the pressure: It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed by the pressure to be constantly productive. However, it’s important to remember that it’s okay to slow down and learn to say “no.” Social pressure and feeling overwhelmed is a serious thing. Spending quality time with family and loved ones can be a source of comfort and joy. When considering commitments, always check with yourself: will this lift you up or drain you? It’s perfectly fine to choose activities that nourish you. If it’s the latter, honor it and say no.
  1. Rest is necessary: I firmly believe that the end of the year is an especially important time to prioritize rest. This sets the tone for a fresh and refreshing start to the new year. I encourage my team at JSHealth to take this into consideration and carefully use this time to rest and actively take care of their mental health. Remember, taking time off to rejuvenate your mind and body isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

Creating a relaxing and refreshing evening routine with a bath and early bedtime can do wonders for your well-being, helping your body and mind relax and rejuvenate for the day ahead. In addition, I recommend saffron and magnesium supplements before bed to support emotional well-being and muscle relaxation, contributing to a balanced and calm state of mind.

  1. Prioritize your mental health: Taking care of your mental health lays the foundation for a resilient new year ahead. My top practices to support mental wellness include listening to mental health podcasts, turning off technology by 8:30 p.m. every night, releasing the pressure to be perfect and practicing affirmations like “My body is strong and thrives in balance.” You can find more beautiful affirmations from the JSHealth team here.

Once again, thank you so much for your unwavering love and support for our brand this year. We will always strive to be the food and nurture that is there for you at every step of the journey. Caring for you is so effortless.

Whether through our vitamins or our philosophy, your well-being remains our highest priority – now and always.

Thank you for trusting us. You truly inspire me everyday.

With such warmth,

Jess H
