You’ve seen the ads, listen to the news, whispered for celebrities and maybe someone who gets them now. You may have examined them yourself. GLP-1 RA medicines are the debate about the city right now and for good reason, as people see real weight loss results and control of diabetes. But before you start, it is important to understand the GLP-1 RA’s advantages and disadvantages so you can have an up-to-date discussion with your doctor.

But this newer category of medicines comes with dangers and side effects. You can’t know if a GLP-1 RA recipe is a good choice for you until you talk about it with your doctor or other medical professional. But it may be an excellent start to know the advantages and disadvantages you first know if it is something you need to consider.

Since GLP-1 drugs can lead to weight loss, balanced blood sugar and blood pressure reduction, a huge increase has increased in recent years in the number of people who received them. For some, it was a literal lifesaver and for others, there were issues that kept them from staying in the long run.

This information is meant to be a starting point to talk to your doctor if you are curious if these medicines could be a good choice for you. Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of GLP-1 RA drugs can help you prepare questions and find out what to expect.

What is GLP-1 RAS and how do they work

Peptid-1 competitors that look like glucagon (GLP-1 RA but often shorten to GLP-1) are wet injections originally approved by the FDA in 2005.

Peptide is a hormone made from the thin intestines that of course activates insulin releaseexcludes the release of glucagon (blood sugar), slows down stomach evacuation and can normally limit appetite.

The synthetic GLP-1 RAS mimic the action of natural peptides by connecting the same cellular receptors That GLP-1 would do it.

Some of the GLP-1 RA medicines on the market include Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, Trulicity, Rybelsus, Victoza, Saxenda and Byetta. In addition to Rybelsus, which is orally taken once a day, they are injected everywhere twice a day to once a week.

They must be prescribed and intended for people with type 2 diabetes and/or obesity or who are overweight.

Some positive results from GLP-1 RA

Due to the increased release of insulin from these medicines, many people receiving GLP-1 RAS have seen Improvements in their diabetes, including the reduction of A1c. But it is usually recommended to use them in combination with nutrition, exercise and insulin.

Unlike some other diabetes drugs, GLP-1 RAS Do not increase the risk of hypoglycaemia.

Although still relatively new in the market, studies begin to indicate a Reduced risk of death from cardiovascular events and kidney disease to people with type 2 diabetes who received GLP-1 RAS.

Activated Activity of serotonergic neurons in the brainThe medicine makes you feel more full and less willing to want to eat. This also adds to the ability to lose weight, also because of the slower gastric discharge.

GLP-1 RA risks and side effects

All medicines come with some risks and side effects and GLP-1 RAS is no different. Some of them are common and may not be long lasting. But unpublished, depending on the severity of these results and the severity of the starting status, some people say they stop the drug while others continue.

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramps and constipation in the stomach. These tend to be worse early in treatment and will be dissolved for many people.

Other less common side effects may include pancreatitis, gastroparement, bowel obstruction, gallstones, biliary conductor blockage and Risk of acute kidney damage.

Some people have reported headaches, reactions of the place injection, cold symptoms, dizziness, fatigue and hair loss.

Although often considered one of the positive results of GLP-1 RAS, some users complain about low appetite.

Dietary deficiencies from GLP-1 RA

By one Teacher Perspective, one of the issues that may not be discussed enough, as these types of drugs become more popular is the risk of nutrient deficiencies.

This is partly due to the fact that most people who receive GLP-1 RAS may not know a deficiency compared to some of the other, more obvious side effects.

Studies have found that those who receive GLP-1 RAS are more likely to suffer from nutrient deficiencies than they do not get. And that The risk is increased with the time of time At a comparison of six months after initiation of treatment and 12 months after.

THE The most common deficiency is vitamin D. But others include vitamins B, fibers, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and choline.

There are two main reasons for the increased risk of deficiencies. One is that the change Gastric discharge can affect how well the nutrients are absorbed. But the largest is due to the reduced appetite.

With Calorie intake reduces 16-39% When taking the drugs, what is eaten because much more important. Without proper nutritional guidance, those in GLP-1 RAS may not have a proper amount of macronutrients and micronutrients in their smaller meals.

Imagine trying to get the same amount of vitamins B, vitamin D and protein, but at a 25% smaller meal.

Additional problems with GLP-1 RAS

The reasons for stopping the use of GLP-1 RAS can vary greatly, either due to side effects, costs, injections or something completely.

What is known is that there is a high ceiling rate of GLP-1 RAS. And those with type 2 diabetes are less likely to stop compared to those without. A study found that within a year, 46.5% of people with diabetes and 64.8% of people without had stopped the drug.

Unfortunately it is common for Interruption to lead to weight gain. And in fact, people can Return to their original weight in less than a year. This also applies to the levels of protein reacting with C-reaches.

Due to the effect on blood sugar levels with these drugs, stopping their taking can also mean that symptoms of diabetes may return. But so far there is little information about any constant results that are happening and turning off GLP-1 RAS.

It cannot be ignored that these medicines are also very expensive. Insurance can cover some of the costs if it has been prescribed for diabetes, but it is much less likely to do so for weight loss.

Before insurance or any discounts, GLP-1 RAS range from $ 936 to $ 1349 per month.

Only you and your doctor know if it’s worth trying GLP-1 RAS

With all the advantages and disadvantages of GLP-1 RA drugs, there is much to consider before approaching your medical professional for them.

Whether you want to lose weight or balance your blood sugar, you need to know the potential risks and side effects. This includes a deficiency of nutrients, which is often overlooked, but can affect long -term health.

GLP-1 RAS probably does not go anywhere soon, based on their recent popularity. But that doesn’t mean it’s right for everyone.
