Since my skincare beliefs are based on 9 Signature Skin Types, I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach to product formulation. That being said, sometimes a product designed for one skin type can end up benefiting many others.

This is what happened when I formulated it Rapid Response Detox Mask. Although it was originally intended to fight hormonal breakouts, it also treats all kinds of other skin problems. Because of this, it quickly became one of our best-selling products. Here are five reasons I think you might love it too!

The benefits of the Rapid Response Detox Mask

1. It can help clear up spasms

Outbreaks have a mind of their own and appear whenever and wherever they want. Skin is skin, so this mask can be used wherever your pimples appear — regardless of their type. It can work wonders hormonal surges, cystic acne, period breakoutsand even body rashes.

It’s all thanks to the ingredients. I made this mask with tea tree oil, salicylic acid, allantoin and sodium hyaluronate. Together, these ingredients help clear clogged pores, limit breakout-causing bacteria, and soothe and hydrate the skin. The last part is key. Unlike other traditional acne products, this mask will not dry out your skin or cause excessive irritation. Instead, it creates a soothing environment for the skin while reducing breakout activity!

Simply apply a thin layer to your face once a week or every night after cleansing.

2. It can prevent clogged pores

If you experience small bumps that don’t look like normal blemishes and won’t go away, they may be closed comedones (AKA clogged pores). Although the only sure way to clear pores is through manual extraction, using the right skin care products can prevent them from appearing.

If you’re concerned about clogged pores, I suggest adding exfoliating acids and the Rapid Response Detox Mask to your routine. The combination of the two will dissolve the bonds that hold dead cells to the skin’s surface (so they don’t fall into your pores and block them). It will also support the moisture barrier, soothe the skin and reduce blemish-causing bacteria.

You can apply it as often as needed to prevent clogged pores—either once a week or as often as every day after cleansing.

3. May help minimize redness

There are two types of redness that this mask can treat. The first is the redness from the spots. The second is redness from flushing and/or skin conditions such as rosacea.

Let’s talk about the redness from the spots first. Since this mask is all about soothing and relieving the skin, it can help calm post-breakout inflammation and the redness associated with it. You can use it as a spot treatment. Once a blemish is minimized or gone, apply a thin layer to the area before going to bed. I also recommend using it Gel Fading Post-Breakout a few nights a week for even faster results.

The other type of redness is caused by hypercirculation of blood, resulting in visible dilated capillaries near the surface of the skin. These skin types (eg Skin types 5 & 9) are often sensitive and should be handled gently. Since this mask contains soothing and moisturizing ingredients, it can be safely used to treat this as well. In fact, we’ve heard great things from customers who have rosacea. They said the Rapid Response Detox Mask helped reduce redness and calm and soothe their skin.

To minimize redness, apply the mask once a week or any time your skin looks particularly red. You can even refrigerate the mask before applying for an extra cooling experience!

4. It can calm irritation

Rosacea is considered a sensitive skin condition, so if people with rosacea can use this mask, so can other sensitive skin types. Yes, I recommend it! If you’ve been using harsh products, over exfoliated, or are dealing with the initial negative side effects from retinol, this mask can help calm the irritation, or as I say, put out the fire!

Simply apply a thin layer to your skin whenever you need some serious soothing. Again, storing it in the fridge will give you even more cooling comfort.

5. It can reverse dehydration

Have you ever used traditional acne products that strip your skin and leave it feeling tight and dry? Or, maybe your skin is feeling more dehydrated than usual thanks to the changing seasons. Either way, the Rapid Response Detox Mask is a great solution. Since it contains sodium hyaluronate – the salt form of hyaluronic acid – it can restore water levels in the skin. In fact, you can use it as often as every night to balance skin and increase hydration.

Other uses for Rapid Response Detox Mask

There are a few specific situations that I love to use the Rapid Response Detox Mask! These include air travel and skin care after waxing. Let’s talk about air travel first.

After the flight

Airplanes are definitely not kind to your skin. While many people do in-flight masks to keep their skin moist and hydrated, this is simply not the best method. This is because when you’re on a plane, the dry air pulls moisture away from the skin (this is called transepidermal water loss, or TEWL). If you’re adding water-based hydration to your skin and not sealing it in with a sealer (like a moisturizer or oil), you’re pretty much fighting a losing battle. Dry air will pull it out again.

That’s why I recommend waiting until you get to your destination to moisturize your skin. After a flight, exfoliate to dissolve dry surface cells. Then follow up with a hydrating mask. Together, they will restore your skin to a healthy state. I recommend using it Rapid/Peel Duowhich includes both the Triple Berry Smoothing Peel and the Rapid Response Detox Mask.

Post-candle

This mask is also perfect for soothing the skin after waxing – especially if you get tiny bumps, almost like a rash. This is a common inflammatory response. Simply apply the mask to clean skin for a few days after waxing. It will help calm and soothe inflammation. (On that note, read my guide to preventing ingrown hairs after waxing!)

How often can it be used?

Experiment to see how often works best for you, but can be used as needed. It’s important to know that it only needs to stay on the skin for five minutes to effectively fight blemish-causing bacteria. However, you can use it more to get more moisturizing effects.

You can use it as often as you want, but it’s important to always listen to your skin. It’s all about improving your skin and making it feel better!

Can I leave it on overnight as a sleeping mask?

Yes. Many of our customers use it this way. Wake up with intense hydration and start your day with a glow!

Here it is! Rapid Response Detox Mask is a jack of all trades! Originally designed for hormonal breakouts, it’s now the go-to spot for breakouts, redness and hydration. It’s gentle, works for all skin types and feels amazing. Use it as a hydrating mask, even after the flight or after the wax.

Then here it is because snail slime might not be for you!
