“I I love it, it’s definitely the best sunscreen on the market.”
“It’s always packed in my bag.”
“I got to have fun in the sun without worry.”
Rain or shine, we never skip SPF. Sunscreen 5 is a holy grail for many DR’s Secret users — but why is it so popular? Let’s take a look at how Sunscreen 5 protects your skin while giving it a natural glow.
Here’s what you need to know about sunscreen 5
1. Comprehensive protection
Protection from UVA and UVB rays
One of the most important things to look for when choosing a sunscreen is to choose one that offers protection from both UVA and UVB rays.
UVA rays are responsible for premature aging of our skin. They penetrate deeper into the skin than UVB rays, causing visible signs of aging such as wrinkles and dark spots.
On the other hand, UVB rays damage the outer layer of the skin and are responsible for sunburns.
With SPF 30 and PA +++ protection, Sunscreen 5 ensures that your skin is adequately protected from these harmful rays.
SPF, also known as sun protection factor, measures how well the sunscreen protects your skin from UVB rays. The PA rating on the other hand measures its protection against UVA rays.
Let’s take a look at how Sunscreen 5 protects your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays!
*The use of UV test cards is purely for comparison purposes and does not represent the surface of our skin. UV test cards can only test for the presence of UVA and UVB rays. If UVA and UVB rays are present, the card turns purple. Otherwise, it remains white. The part where sunscreen 5 was applied remained white as it was not affected by UV rays.
Hybrid sunscreen
Being a hybrid sunscreen, this SPF product combines the benefits of both a mineral and chemical sunscreen to provide comprehensive protection to your skin.
Mineral sunscreen ingredients sit on top of your skin to create a barrier that reflects and scatters UV rays.
On the other hand, the chemical ingredients in sunscreen work by absorbing UV rays, converting them into heat, and then releasing the heat through the skin.
The combination of both creates a better sunscreen texture and reduces the chance of white casts.
Is SPF 30 enough protection?
The higher the SPF, the better? Well, that’s not always the case!
The SPF rating indicates the level of protection against UVB rays only, meaning that a higher SPF does not equal higher protection against UVA rays.
Typically, SPF 15 blocks 93% of UVB rays, SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays, and SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays. The increase is not very significant (note: no sunscreen can completely block UVB rays).
Higher SPF sunscreens also tend to give you a false sense of security that makes you stay in the sun longer than you should. In general, liberal application of SPF 25-30 sunscreen to the skin can provide adequate protection for outdoor activities.
One thing to note: it’s important to reapply your sunscreen often as and when needed. If you are outdoors, reapply at least every two hours.
If you’ve gone swimming or need to reapply your sunscreen after sweating buckets, reapply immediately. This helps ensure that your skin remains protected at all times.
2. Natural radiant glow
In addition to adequate protection, Sunscreen 5 helps you achieve radiant and breathable skin effortlessly, giving you a natural dewy glow, as if you’re glowing from within. The best part is – it doesn’t leave unwanted white cast when mixed well.

Apply sunscreen 5
Use an adequate amount (about 2 cm in diameter) of sunscreen 5 and apply 2 to 3 layers for enhanced protection. When applying sunscreen 5, gently press and roll the sunscreen with your fingers onto your skin.
Be sure to apply 15 minutes before going outside to give your sunscreen some time to absorb to maximize its protection. Here is a video to help!
