As I sit here and reflect on the past few months, it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come. It is a feeling of exhaustion, pride and above all joy. For the past four months, I have been working tirelessly to bring a dream to life.”The Therapeutic Journal” an extension of my mental health blog, Sanity Daily. I have poured my heart and soul into this project, one that has been shaped against the backdrop of a full-time job, raising a beautiful child and running a household on my own. However, despite all the responsibilities, it was a journey that confirmed the power of perseverance, faith and vision that kept me going.

From Idea to Execution: A Solo Entrepreneur’s Journey

What does it mean to be a solopreneur? Trust me, I realized this when I was doing this project on my own and the word SOLO kept hitting me. Early mornings, late nights, self-questioning, creativity and planning, writing, development, and all the little pieces that come together to form a cohesive whole. And it was all done by me. No big group. No fancy assistants. Just me, my laptop and an unwavering vision with my little one by my side.

Creation The Therapeutic Journal it was an idea that germinated some time ago, under the guidance of my award winning and best mentors Brian McNicoll, Christopher DJ Smyth and Catherine Ward. It was when I joined the Elevator Academic Accelerator program to learn the intricacies of starting a business. I had my blog and podcast doing great, but they weren’t built around a business model and I struggled to change the essence of it. I decided to use all my learning, experience and credibility to offer something important to the women around me.

I wanted to design a journal as a form of self-help tool for mothers that wasn’t just pages to write on – it had to be healthy guided experience. A space for moms to release stress, take a break, connect with themselves and nurture their mental health.

But how does one begin? The dream was clear, but the reality of turning that dream into something tangible was scary, believe me, I entertained the idea and almost thought about not doing it. But I knew this was a journey I had to step into, even if it meant carving time out of every corner of my day.

What kept me?

A key motivation throughout this journey was the vision. His vision mothers everywhere they sit with their journals, breathing a sigh of relief as they reconnect with themselves, away from the daily stresses of life. I closed my eyes countless times and visualized this moment. I could see it, I could feel it, and most importantly, I could see how this simple practice of using a mindful journal would change the lives of mothers who too often put themselves last on the list of priorities.

The vision was so clear in my mind that it became my fuel. It didn’t matter how tired I was or how busy my day was, it was the thought of creating something that could help so many people that kept me going. Whether I was spending late nights designing the pages, writing affirmations that could cheer up a mom in need, or creating the website that would host it all, it was always the dream that pushed me forward. It was a promise to myself that I wouldn’t let it slip through the cracks, no matter what. I continued to see the end result, to see how far I could go.

The Process – Building it all from scratch

What many don’t see is the amount of effort that goes into developing a product, especially when you do it all yourself. From the beginning, I knew that creating a journal for moms meant I had to understand them deeply – what they go through, how they think, and what they really need from a self-care tool. So I spent hours researching, brainstorming, and reflecting on my own experiences as a mother. I collected surveys and gathered feedback from mothers from different walks of life, different backgrounds and countries.

Designing the pages was an art in itself. I wanted each section to feel purposeful and provide space for reflection, gratitude, awareness and growth. I created prompts that could guide mothers through their emotions, help them set healthy boundaries, and support them in feeling grounded in their busy days. Every page of it The Therapeutic Journal it’s made with love and care, designed to support your mental well-being, one small step at a time. I put a lot of thought into choosing colors, fonts, images and graphics.

I also had to develop a website that would be user-friendly and beautifully designed. I wanted it to be a place where mothers could easily purchase the journals and confirmation cards, read more about the benefits of the journal and make a seamless purchase. I spent time researching ecommerce tools, learning the ins and outs of website building, and writing the perfect copy to speak to my audience’s needs.

I’m proud to say that I’ve done all of this on my own, from concept to execution. I have used every spare minute I could find in my day during lunch breaks, late at night or early in the morning before people wake up to work on this project. It was approx making the most of the 24 hours in the dayand through it all, I never lost sight of my dream.
