Travel looks different than it did in my 30s — and honestly? This is good.

These days, I care about comfort, organization, energy, and not feeling run down when I arrive. After decades of travel, I’ve come up with the travel products that really make a difference for women 50+. No tricks. No mess. Simple things like that work.

The essentials for the trip are explained:

These are the small, smart tools that reduce friction—less digging, less wrinkling, less neck pain, less “why did I pack that?” moments.

How I found them:

Trial and error. The package fails. Hotel mirrors I couldn’t see inside. Plane rides that ruined my neck. And yes—many late-night Amazon rabbit holes are looking for things like “The best cruise ship” or “Neck pillow that doesn’t damage your spine.” These continued to appear… and earned their place.

You can shop everything here: Buy My Travel Essentials (These are things I personally use and travel with.)

Organization that makes packing easy

These are the simple, no-fuss tools I rely on to stay organized, pack smarter, and avoid packing chaos while traveling.

Packing Cubes (Non-negotiable)

Why I love them:
These have completely changed the way I pack. I know exactly where everything is, I don’t overpack and unpacking at home is quicker.

What stood out:

  • Keeps clothes together
  • It makes packing the carry-on realistic
  • No more mess in your suitcases

Best for: Anyone who wants peace of mind instead of rummaging.

Travel laundry bags

Why I love them:
Dirty clothes go away here—does not mix with clear. When I get home, laundry is basic.

Small Victory, Big Impact:
Stays organized on long trips and facilitates post-trip recovery.

Jewelry Organizer (Compact + Clutter Free)

Why I love it:
Small cases = no tangled necklaces, no lost earrings.

Ideal for: Women who like options but hate chaos.

Beauty and Grooming (Because the hotel lighting is rude)

These travel beauty essentials help me feel polished and confident, even when hotel bathrooms and lighting aren’t doing us any favors.

Lay-Flat Makeup Bag (Viral for a reason)

Travel makeup bag spread open on bathroom counter with toiletries and makeupTravel makeup bag spread open on bathroom counter with toiletries and makeup

Why I love it:
It opens on the counter so I can see everything. I will never go back to digging through ziplock bags again.

Midlife Bonus:
Holds skincare, makeup, eye patches – everything.

Travel Mirror (Light + Magnification)

Why I need it:
Hotel mirrors are not made for mature eyes. Period.

This gives me:

  • Proper lighting
  • Magnification
  • Make sure my makeup looks right before I walk out the door

Makeup remover cases

Why they are geniuses:
No leaks. No bottles. Throw some in your bag and you’re good to go.

Viral eye patches

Travel Secret Weapon:
Reduces swelling from flights. I keep them in my makeup bag and use them in the morning after landing.

Clothes that look fresh (no iron)

Because I want to go out wrinkle-free without wasting time—or patience—on unreliable hotel irons.

Mini Travel Steamer

Why I swear it:
I hate looking wrinkled. This little steamer is fast, easy to pack and saves laundry.

Reality check:
Hotel irons are unreliable. This is not.

Slim protective case for sunglasses

Why it’s smart:
Protects sunglasses without taking up half of your wallet.

Comfort and airplane technology that saves your sanity

These are the essentials for comfort and technology that keep me supported, charged and in a lot less pain in flight.

Travel neck pillow

Why it matters now:
Neck pain after flights is no longer optional.

This:
It actually supports your neck so you don’t get stiff and sore.

Portable Phone Charger (4 full charges!)

Why I carry it:
My phone always dies on airplanes. This keeps me connected throughout the trip.

3 in 1 wireless charger

Essential Hotel:
