Your stroller is already doing a lot of the heavy lifting. But a few well-chosen accessories can pull it off "fine" to "how did I leave home without it?" I’ve been writing about baby gear since 2010 and have two kids who have put a lot of strollers through their paces, so here’s what I think is really worth adding to your stroller setup. What stroller accessories have you added to your setup?

Don’t touch Tags
Babies are irresistible, so it’s no surprise that well-meaning people often reach out and touch a newborn without thinking about what they’re holding. I found these durable signs that can fit in a stroller, car seat, or carrier if you’re too hoarse from screaming, "keep your dirty hands off my precious baby!" to old ladies in the supermarket. Shop here.

BuggyGuard pushchair lock
It takes real work to steal a baby carriage, but it’s expensive and happens more than you might think. The BuggyGuard has a retractable cable that runs through the wheels and secures to any stationary object, with a combination lock so there are no keys to lose. Compact design presses neatly and does not interfere with folding. Keep it clipped to your cart so it’s always there when you need it. Shop here.

Habitat Stroller Cup Holder with Phone Holder
You’ll need your coffee, water bottle and phone at the same time about 100% of the time you’re walking. This case keeps all three within easy reach of your stroller handle, which sounds like a small thing until you try to pull your phone out of the bottom of a diaper bag with one hand while driving with the other. Shop here.

Skip Hop Ultra Stroller Organizer
This is the storage upgrade most strollers really need. Multiple pockets, insulated cup holders and easy access to wipes, snacks and your keys — all from the handlebars. If you’re the kind of person who likes everything to have a place (or desperately wishes you were), this is the accessory for you. Shop here.

Lulyboo Stroller Hook Clip Set
For anything that won’t fit anywhere else — shopping bags, a backpack, a bag with 40 things in it. These clips hang from the handlebars and hold a surprising amount. One important note: be careful how much weight you pile on, because a heavy stroller will tip over the moment you let go of the handle, and that’s a lesson you don’t want to learn with a baby in the stroller. Shop here.

Skip Hop Stroll & Connect Bladeless Stroller Fan
Bladeless is the key word here — no little fingers getting caught in spinning blades, which is less about safety (most stroller fans wouldn’t do any damage) and more about a baby who can’t help but fiddle with something that moves. This fan easily attaches to your stroller and keeps the air moving. A hot, sweaty, overtired baby is anyone’s worst afternoon and this helps prevent that. Shop here.

Nuby Stroller Fan
I like this because it’s easy to move around to get the perfect fan angle. It also provides a little more breeze than bladeless if your baby can resist messing with it. Shop here.

Shield and net set for Nuby Eco stroller
Rain, wind, bugs and the occasional rogue bee – this shield and netting combo handles it all. It fits over the stroller to block the elements and keep flying insects out, which is perfect if you’re doing any time outdoors during bug season or somewhere tropical. The fact that it doubles as weather protection makes it worth having all year round. Shop here.

212 Evolution Extendable Footsuff 7AM baby blanket
This is a warm sleeping bag for your baby and it feels great. The adjustable, removable top gives you temperature control and the expandable footmuff means it grows with your child so you can really enjoy the seasons of use. It’s expensive, so if you need something for occasional use, I’d just use a warm blanket, but if you’re somewhere with brutal winters, it’s a great investment. Shop here.

Stroller Gloves 7am
These seem a little strange at first, but they’re really great. They stay on the handle of the stroller—not in your hands—which means you can take them out and open them without dropping them or losing one on the sidewalk. Easy access to your baby, your phone, your coffee, your dignity. Shop here.

morepeas Baby toy and cup strap
These simple straps attach toys, pacifiers, cups and toothpicks to your stroller so that when your baby inevitably throws something as hard as he can to the ground, it just…bounces. Cheap, effective and one of those things you’ll wonder how you lived without. I love the snapshots in these. Shop here.

Adjustable silicone straps
Here’s another version that has a thinner strap and the items are attached via a pull loop versus a clasp. Shop here.

Chiotian Rings
Another option for attaching goodies to the cart is these rings. I like that you can adjust the length. Shop here.

Lalo Snack Cup
This cup is spill-resistant (emphasis on resistant, because nothing with a toddler is really waterproof), easy for little hands to dig into, and works great for Puffs, Cheerios, or whatever else your child is willing to eat at the moment. Also fits most cup holders. Shop here.

Skip Hop Glow with Me Portable Sound Machine
If your baby has learned to fall asleep with white noise at home (and honestly, good for you for starting that habit early), this little acorn brings that magic to the street. It clips right into the stroller, glows softly, and plays soothing sounds so your baby thinks they’re in their crib even when you’re cruising through a crowded farmer’s market. The fact that it’s shaped like an acorn is completely unnecessary and yet somehow makes it even better. Shop here.

Frida Baby Hands Free Rocker
This is a bit of a wild card, but stay with me. Clip it to your stroller or use it at home to keep baby rocking gently while you do something with your hands—like drink a full cup of coffee or pump your fists at the sky because you’re dealing with sleep reflux. Shop here.

Skip Farmstand Avocado Cart Game
Everything about babies is avocado themed right now and I refuse to be upset about it because this game is cute and actually works. Wrinkled, soft, snaps right into the stroller and holds baby’s attention surprisingly well. Shop here.

Infantino Go gaga! Travel bar activity music game
This arches over the stroller seat and gives your baby an entire entertainment center to interact with — lights, music, toys to bump into. There’s a lot of it, and babies love it. Perfect for longer outings when you need your little one engaged and happy. Shop here.

Lamaze Clip & Go Freddie the Firefly
A classic for a reason. Soft, colorful, easy to clip into the stroller and has remained popular for years because babies have a constant obsession with it. If you need a simple, reliable cart game, Freddie is always a good call. Shop here.

Mockingbird Riding Board Stroller Accessories
For the toddler who wants to walk everywhere until he doesn’t. The Mockingbird board is particularly good because it sits on its side, so you’re not kicking it with every step – which if you’ve ever used a riding board before, you know is a real quality-of-life improvement. This is compatible with the Mockingbird stroller but depending on how your stroller is configured it may work. Shop here.

Children’s handle tagalong
For the toddler who still needs to be held close and feel like he has a job to do (and also not similar). This attaches to the cart and gives them their own handle to hold on to. They feel like a big kid, you keep crowd control, everyone wins. Shop here.
Put them in the comments – I love finding out what’s really working for people out there.
