On January 25, 2025, over 150 ambitious women from all over Cameroon gathered in the Polyclinic of Archange Bonapriso, Douala, for ladies in the meeting room for a one -day Masterclass. This transformative event, fueled by the UK government/British High Committee in collaboration with Edith Delight, provided a platform for women’s entrepreneurs to learn, network and transfer their businesses to the next level.
A day of learning and inspiration
The event was full of insightful group discussions, participation in basic sessions and invaluable networking opportunities. Industry leaders, funding experts and law firms shared their know -how, equipping participants with the knowledge needed for effective navigation in the business landscape.
Welcome comments and discussion on the panel
The day started with a warm welcome by Dr. Edith F. Gibson, president of the ladies in the meeting room, who emphasized the importance of women’s financial strengthening. After her observations, a discussion with Jackie Ngalle (UBA), Ritha Django (Beko Capital Advisory), Bawa (CCA Bank) and Bernadette Esso (Planner Event) set the stage for insights. Everyone shared their travels, challenges and guidance of a critical role they played in their success.
Keynote Sessions: Actionable Insights for women in business
Masterclass characterized a number of strong basic periods.
- Access to funding – Georgette Ngo Piim (Ecobank) provided practical guidance to ensure funding, exploring various economic sources and overcoming the barriers facing women’s businessmen.
- Legal Affairs & Business Protection – Lawyer Bate Lydian educated participants in basic legal documents, intellectual property rights and how to protect their businesses.
- Personal name – Dr. Michaella Notche (Ehia Consulting) emphasized the importance of authenticity in building a strong personal brand.
- Marketing Strategies & PR – Santher Mbacham (Image Nation PR) shared effective marketing and publicity strategies for business development.
- Work balance-person life -Dr. Edith Gibson and Leonie Ella Cedjou discussed strategies for the management of family, businesses and self-care.
Distinguished visitors and special recognitions
One highlight of the event was the presence of Matt Wood, a British High Commissioner in Cameroon, who gave observations on the UK government’s commitment to strengthen women in entrepreneurship. In addition, Professor Joyce Bayande Mbongo épse Endeley, a famous lawyer for gender equality, joined as inspired by participants with her know -how and achievements.
The event also celebrated remarkable achievements to the ladies in the initiative of the meeting room. Ruth Meteh, an excellent participant, was appointed as an administrative assistant for the initiative, recognizing her dedication and active commitment. In another empowerment move, the ladies in the meeting room provided a financial boost of 1 million FCFA to ML Production237, led by Mbeng Lilian (Caro), to support creative businesses under the leadership of women.
Journey to EcoBank Ellevate
According to her mission to support women entrepreneurs, ladies in the meeting room announced a trip to Ecobank Ellevate Branch, Bonanjo, where selected participants will receive training for the structure of their business and preparation for funding opportunities. The initiative will also cover the cost of opening EcoBank Ellevate for these entrepreneurs, further enhancing their financial foundations.
Look forward to
The impact of the ladies on the masterclass of the meeting room extends beyond that. As a platform dedicated to empowering women in leadership and business, it continues to enhance guidance, access to financial resources and strategic network opportunities. With a second masterclass scheduled for Yaoundé on February 8, 2025, the initiative is going to reach even more women, equipping them with tools to succeed.
