Sharing some of my top remote work tips since I have worked at home for so many years now. I know that many of you also work remotely, so please share the top production tips or hacks in the comments!
Hi friends! I hope you are doing well and enjoying the day. I have a podcast interview this morning and we have the usual homeschool/dance/basketball fun today.
Today, I wanted to talk a little bit to work from home and brainstrom some tips with you.
OG Reader friends are familiar with this story, but I started the blog when we lived in Valdosta, GA. I had just started working as a personal trainer and leaving the world of retail management and ended up growing up in something I could never imagine. I like to be able to connect with all of you and every day, I am so grateful for the freedom to work and earn income from home while I can be here for children.
I know that many friends out there ASLo run a business from home or working remotely. It’s a kind of “new normal” and I like it to be an option. From the pandemic, the way we think about work has shifted completely: home offices have replaced cabins, video conversations have replaced meeting rooms and cafes became the new nodes. And honestly? Comes with a tone of benefits: Easy, flexibility, fewer travel and often a better shot in the real balance of life.
But here’s the truth: remote work or homework is not always easy. Without the right strategies, it may feel isolated, overwhelming or even non -productive.
Today, I wanted to share some of my favorite remote work tips that will help you live your best professional life, whether you are at home, an office or a cafe.
Remote work tips
I think understanding the remote control really means it’s the key. He doesn’t just work on your pajamas or responding to phone calls from the couch. These are the design of systems, routines and habits that keep you productive, connected and fulfilled.
These remote work tips are meant to help you not only “pass”, but in fact to succeed, grow and enjoy your work from home. I also wanted to include tips for my friends who work essentially for a company, because work for yourself is a different beast. (If you want to make more blog posts behind the scenes, we’ll be happy to do that too!)
What does remote work mean?
At its core, remote work means doing your work outside a traditional office. This may mean creating an office at home, working from a cafe, or even for your work while traveling. Unlike conventional jobs, there is no conversation with water, no morning movement and no boss walking beyond your office every 20 minutes.
The biggest difference? Freedom and responsibility. You have more words about your working hours, your workplace and your daily rhythm, but you also need discipline and creativity to stay focused.
Remote work is no longer just a perk. It is a completely new way of structure both work and life.
How to make remote work successful
How to stay productive while you are working remotely
Tip: Create a “Travel Ritual” (even if they are fake)
One of the most difficult parts of remote work changes from “Home” to “work mode”. Start your brain with a mini ritual: walk around the block, make a special coffee or listen to a 5 -minute pump player before sitting in your office. Marks your brain that your working hours have begun.
Tip: Happy your workplace
Skip the clutter. Add plants, salt lamp or even a candle to the office setting to your home. Research shows that environmental slogans affect productivity- so you make your space inspired.
Bonus: No one prevents you from hanging lights by blinking or setting a corridor office. I love my pillow and use it often throughout the day.
Tip: Work on a time block
Because it is very easy for me to distance myself, it will block my time so that I can only focus on a specific project for that time.
How to ask for an increase when you are working remotely
Tip: Collect “Proofs”
It is easy for remote contributions to go unnoticed. Keep a current profit document: the projects are completed, glittering client comments, deadlines are crushed. When the growth time comes, you will have data to back up your request (and it is more difficult for a boss to say no when it is right in front of them).
How to build relationships while you are working remotely
Tip: Schedule telephone calls out of work
It should not be all for deliverables. Put “virtual coffee conversations” in your calendar. These 15 -minute casual casuals with colleagues mimic the office water refrigerator and help you stay connected beyond Slack messages.
How to communicate effectively when you work remotely
Tip: Hug the vocal notes
I have typed anything that is more than a few suggestions. A quick voice note (via slack, voxer or whatsapp) can clean things faster and add warmth. This way they can really say what you mean by the tone of your voice, rather than confused by emojis.
How to dress for remote work
Tip: Adopt “Zoom Mullet”
Business at the top, hot at the bottom. Invest in some “power tops” (bright colors, sharp collars) that make you look polished in video calls – while your gaiters or joggers remain hidden under the office. I do this all the time lol.
How to feel connected when you work remotely
Tip: Start a “third -site” ritual
When you are not in an office, life can feel like an endless loop of home and home …. home. Break employees once a week from a café or library. This creates a “third space” that keeps your brain stimulated and makes the job feel fresh. I also find that I am more productive in a cafe.
How to deposit taxes as a remote worker
Tip: Create a digital “Shoebox”
Set up a cloud folder with “taxes”. Whenever you buy something related to work.-So is it a new office chair, software, or Wi-Fi-Fi-Fi-Cafe. We use a Bokeeper to watch everything – I just sent my statements every month – and makes it much easier.
Bonus: Protect your energy
Remote work makes it easy to blur the boundaries. Protect your energy by adjusting hard “finishing rituals” at the end of your working hours: close the laptop, illuminate a candle, walk or head directly to training.
Do you need some ideas? Check the list of training sessions that can help you reset between tasks.
Remote work is more than just a different arrangement: it is a lifestyle shift. With the right routines, boundaries and creative bites, you can design a remote professional life that supports productivity, relationships and overall well -being.
So tell me, friends: How many of you work from home against an office? Do you use a cooperation space or a cafeteria?
PLEASE SHOULD BE ALL THE LOVE OF PRODUCTION!
