Primerdesign (part of the Novacyt Group), a company focused on the design, manufacture, validation and supply of real-time PCR kits and reagents, today announced the launch of its exsig® RapidBead Pro Mag Extraction Kit. The next-generation magnetic bead-based kit can be used to extract high-quality DNA and RNA from a variety of sample types. The streamlined and customizable protocol enables efficient nucleic acid purification, helping researchers move from sample testing to PCR testing faster, without compromising yield and purity.

The RapidBead Pro Kit offers magnetic bead extraction technology optimized for simplicity, producing quality exports with a refined workflow for both manual and automated platforms. The surface-activated magnetic particles are specially designed to bind nucleic acids with high affinity and combined with a single washing step, allow the effective removal of impurities present in the sample matrix. The nucleic acid is then eluted and ready for use in downstream real-time PCR applications.

The simple four-step workflow significantly reduces usage time compared to traditional methods, reducing the risk of contamination and providing users with a refined workflow to extract DNA and RNA in less than 20 minutes. The Exsig Mag RapidBead Pro Extraction Kit can be used with a variety of matrices including human, veterinary, water, food and environmental material. It is also suitable for challenging sample types including stool and serum, and effectively isolates genetic material from RNA viruses, as well as Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

The kit comes in two sizes to complement Primerdesign’s genesig® Range of qPCR kits, supporting different throughput requirements. Together, these provide a complete end-to-end solution that supports reliable and consistent qPCR assays with high sensitivity, helping researchers have confidence in their results.

The launch of the exsig Mag RapidBead Pro Extraction Kit is a key advancement in Primerdesign’s molecular workflow portfolio. The kit sets a new standard for DNA or RNA purification, combining the proven accuracy and reliability of the exsig Mag Kit with the speed of a next-generation rapid extraction workflow. It’s a cost-effective end-to-end solution that delivers superior throughput, reduces lab time and offers greater flexibility to help researchers accelerate molecular discovery and pathogen control from sample to results.”

Lyn Rees, CEO, Novacyt

Primerdesign’s Exsig Mag RapidBead Pro Extraction Kit is available for research use only and can be shipped worldwide.
