Do you want to add volume back to your face, but want to treat your entire face as opposed to targeting specific areas with fillers? Are you concerned about bags and puffiness under your eyes? Would you like to rejuvenate and hydrate your lips without looking “done”? If you answered “YES!” In any of these questions, EZ Gel PRF injections are a fantastic treatment option for you.

At About Face Aesthetics, we use EZ Gel PRF injections in Philadelphia to help eliminate the first signs of aging. Similar to other fillers – but made from your own blood – this treatment is perfect for naturally restoring facial volume and can even help with hair growth!

Keep reading to learn how EZ Gel PRF works, what to expect during your appointment, and how PRF injections compare to some of our other similar aesthetic offerings.

What are PRF injections?

While we love our cosmetic options at About Face, we can’t help but get especially excited when we can offer an organic volumizing treatment made by you, for you! EZ Gel PRF is one such treatment!

What is PRF?

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is most easily described as the next generation platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments. PRF concentrate contains up to 10 times more platelet cells than PRP and tends to last longer! Using a centrifuge, we carefully separate the PRF from the patient’s blood and then use it to restore volume and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

How does it work

We extract the PRF from the patient’s blood by spinning it in a centrifuge. During this process, the blood is naturally separated into different components, including the rich fibrin matrix that we use in our PRF injections. Once re-injected into the patient’s face and skin, PRF essentially “starts” the tissue healing process by creating new collagen and volume!

What He Faces

Our PRF injections in Philadelphia are a wonderful option for anyone experiencing the following conditions or problems:

  • Bags under the eyes
  • Bloated cheeks
  • Relaxation and delicacy of the lips
  • Hair loss
  • Puppet lines (facial folds that extend from the corners of the mouth to the chin)
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Smoker’s lines
Your treatment

About the person Providers have to prepare you for your treatment. That’s why every aesthetic journey begins with a consultation.

During the consultation, our providers will go over what to expect during and after your EZ Gel PRF injection. We’ll answer any questions about the treatment and make sure it’s a good choice for your unique needs. After our discussion, we will schedule your treatment!

Pre-Care

A week before your appointment, you should start applying sunscreen daily to prevent UV damage. Then, 3 days before your appointment, you should start drinking at least 64 ounces of water a day. We will also ask you to avoid ingesting blood thinners such as certain medicines and alcohol to minimize the risk of bruising.

Your date

Make sure you are hydrated and nourished before your appointment! The more hydrated you are, the better your blood draw will go and the less likely you will feel dizzy if you have food in your stomach. For PRF injections in Philadelphia, your treatment will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour. First, we will draw your blood and place it in EZ Gel PRF tubes. (Don’t worry about that, our providers are experienced blood drawers!)

The tubes are then placed in the centrifuge and spun. Your provider will then collect and inject the resulting “gel” into the desired treatment areas.

Aftercare

After your appointment, we’ll offer some aftercare tips to ensure your results are successful:

Post-Care Dos
  • For 3 days after your appointment, wash your hands with soap before washing your face. Use only lukewarm water and avoid harsh detergents. dry gently.
  • For 2 nights after your appointmentsleep on your back
  • If you feel discomfort after your appointmentwe can recommend over-the-counter pain relievers that can provide relief.
No after care needed
  • For 3 days after your appointmentdo not use exfoliating products.
  • For 6 hours after your appointmentavoid touching your face.
I follow

To get the best results, we recommend a series of 2 sessions scheduled approximately 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by annual injections for maintenance as needed. However, you should start seeing results from your PRF injections in Philadelphia after your first treatment!

Comparable Treatments

While all of our filler options are comparable to PRF injections in Philadelphia, EZ Gel PRF is most similar to Sculptra. Below, we’ll quickly compare these two options and detail their similarities and differences:

Sculptra

Looking for a filler that can do more than the average injectable? Consider Sculptra!

This injectable uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate your body to make more collagen. So instead of seeing immediate results that may fade within 3 to 4 months, it works over time to build facial volume with results lasting over 2 years.

What He Faces

Sculptra is a good option for people who want to address facial and body skin imperfections. We can use Sculptra to treat the following conditions:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Lost volume
  • Wrinkles on the chin
  • Cellulite
Your treatment

During your initial consultation, we will answer any questions you have about Sculptra and help you determine if this injectable solution can address your concerns. Once we determine that Sculptra is right for you, we will schedule your appointment.

Pre-Care
  • If you have a history of cold sores on the facewe may prescribe medication to minimize it
your chances of developing an outbreak.
  • If you bruise easily, we will provide suggestions to help reduce the risk of bruising after treatment. Because some patients experience facial swelling with Sculptra, we advise that you schedule your treatment within at least 3 weeks of a major event to allow your skin time to heal.
  • Right before your appointmentyou should eat a small snack to avoid fainting during treatment.
  • 5 days before treatmentavoid ingesting any blood-thinning medications or supplements.
  • On the day of your appointmentdo not apply facial products.
Your date

Sculptra injection appointments last about 30 minutes. Similar to other injection appointments, we inject the filler into predetermined areas to stimulate collagen production.

Aftercare
Post-Care Dos
  • Reduce swelling or bruising with a cold compress.
  • Massage the treatment area 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days after your appointment.
  • Limit your exposure to heat.
  • Add an extra pillow under your head while you sleep to reduce swelling.
  • I drink a lot of water.

No after care needed

  • Do not apply pressure to the treatment area.
  • Avoid aerobic exercise for one day after your injections.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for 4 to 5 days after the injection.
  • Do not schedule an appointment with the dentist before 2 weeks after surgery.
I follow

Most people see the best results after a series of 3 Sculptra injections. This filler can provide more facial fullness for up to 2 years after treatment.

Sculptra vs. PRF Injections in Philadelphia

Both sculpting and PRF injections are amazing treatments. it just depends on the treatment you prefer!

Here is a brief breakdown of how these cosmetic injections differ:

EZ Gel PRF
  • A natural injectable that comes from your own blood.
  • It stimulates the body to begin its natural healing process, helping to restore fullness to the skin down to the lash line.
  • PRF can stimulate hair growth and is a good choice for hair restoration.
  • Maintenance is annual once the initial series is complete.
  • The only danger is bruising.
Sculptra
  • An injectable that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) to stimulate collagen production, helping skin plump up.
  • It takes time to see results, but once a series is completed, results can last up to two years.
  • It can treat cellulite on the body.
What is right for me?

You never have to feel like you’re making a treatment decision alone at About Face. If you’re not sure if Sculptra or PRF injections in Philadelphia can best meet your needs, our providers can help. Simply schedule a consultation to learn the benefits of each treatment and how they can help you enhance your natural beauty.

Careful of needles?

We know that many of our clients are uncomfortable with injections. We understand and offer different solutions to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible during your appointment:

  • Local Numbness: These creams provide effective pain relief for moderately uncomfortable treatments.
  • ProNox: This self-administered 50/50 mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide can help relieve pain and anxiety, you decide how much you need.
  • Lidocaine injection: Provides deeper numbness.
