Welcome to another dose of Better2Know’s patients.

At Better2 we know, we believe that the exchange of personal experiences can help to break the stigma that many people feel about being tested for STDs. We have gathered stories from people who have been tested to inspire and encourage others to take this important step for their sexual health.

Some names and details in these stories have changed.

Your sexual health is important. Try with Better2Know’s full Sti display.

When Evin met Rose, he didn’t expect to get the shock of the year. Like many young adults, Evin navigated on the scene dating back to Bristol at the end of 2010, when a Tinder date turned into an emotional fire.

“Looking back, it sounds silly,” Evin told Better2 knows a TV call. “But I was really scared, more scared than I might have been.

In 2018, Evin shared an apartment at the Bedminster with three friends and worked for marketing for a city center collection service. He had moved to the city for the university, receiving a history degree at the University of Bristol, but found himself uncomfortable and saw Bristol’s nightlife. Most of his dates came from his weekly meetings at a local table game store where he would play Magic: The concentration.

“I liked to be single. I think, it was exciting. You never know who you will meet, what will happen. I put myself out there. Sometimes, I might let things go very soon.”

Evin, now 32 years old, is short with a huge mane of bleached blond hair, with features so round that it looks much younger than it is. He speaks gently but quickly, as he tries to pull out something without hearing.

“I remember thinking she had beautiful hair. I could say from her photos that she liked to do cosplay for contracts.

Although he lived in Cardiff and lived in Bristol, both of us came out of our way to travel. I liked it and I’m sure I liked it too. We came back very quickly.

Evin Met Rose over the Tinder dating application, taking advantage of the application’s “Superlike” feature to seal the deal in a conversation. After a few days of written messages, they met for the first date in Cardiff.

“Although he lived in Cardiff and lived in Bristol, and we both went out of our way to travel. I liked and I was sure I liked it.

From there, things went pretty quickly. After a few days, they decided to become familiar. But the highs of this new relationship made Evin think twice about what happened.

“We had sex sometimes without a condom. I didn’t think so much, but a few days later it started playing in my mind. I realized that I didn’t know this person very well.

Evin did not wait – he did quickly. “A few days after my concern, I ordered an online test. Nothing kept me back, Rose went on vacation that week, so he felt like a good time to check, only in case.”

Unlike many people, he did not reach obstacles to test. He just went to the internet and ordered a test kit. “The test I ordered was quite discreetly packaged and the samples were easy to take. I was worried about how accurate a test at home could be, but I looked at it and I know now that they are quite reliable.”

After a few days, the results came. It was negative.

“I felt mostly relieved, but I also felt a little guilty not to use protection when I had to have it. It was really irresponsible, since I got the result, I didn’t talk to call me or call me.

We asked Evin because he thought he was.

“I’m not completely sure, it may have been a lack of communication, I think the fact that we tried before talking to her gave her a bad impression.”

However, Evin is not sorry for the experience. He taught him to be more careful. “I think, shooting, I should have been safer. I never thought about it before. Now, I take regular checks every few months to be safe.”

He said that his prospect on STDs has changed for the better. He was quite simple when we asked him what he would say to someone who was thinking of trying. “From what I have learned, acquiring a Sti is not a big deal. It leaves the non -cured harm. If you know you have it. You can do something about it.”

When we asked him if he was still in Tinder, he hits.

“I thought I would give real life for a while.”

Do not leave your sexual health to luck. Close a Sti test to sexual health clinic near you.
